Thanks for making this series. Two years ago I redid my crafts room but I always like to watch how others organize their rooms. I have been storing my dies on magnetic sheets for the last 3 or so years. You're right it takes up less space and no missing dies. Looking forward to you storage ideas on embellishments.❤

I love my heat vent covers!!!! I purchased my pockets from the check out store from Amazon (thinner construction but work great with the magnet and heavy weight card stock) backed my magnet sheet with a same size heavey weight card stock cut out my desgine and attached it to the cardstok so I have a visual of size and style, But I will look into the magent sheets you suggested Its a beautiful Thing. Agree with the loss of tiny dies I also picked up an acrlic stand up frame and put a piece vent magnet on it with double stick tape and as im working I can slap my die on there until I"m ready to put them away.
Ooooh...I love the magnetic frame idea! I might have to make one of those. I do soooo much die cutting, and it's so easy to lose a small piece in the carpet or even...ugh...the trash can. I bought a magnet backed ruler to help me with that problem, but now that I think of it, I should just put the dies on the back of that ruler while I'm working. Duh! The light comes on! Best tip about the magnetic vent covers. I have been looking for an expensive way to store the dies that I have.
Interestingly enough, I started at the Home Depot but only got as far as asking them for magnetic sheets which I would've had to order special order and because they are metal cut them with a special tool so that didn't work, but I never thought to look further at other things that might be magnetic. This weekend I'll be there looking for those magnetic sheets in the vent covering area.
Thank you thank you thank you, I don't have very many dies but what I do have I'm losing because they don't stay in the little envelopes, they get lost, etc. Can't wait to try this. Other magnetic strips from teacher stores, and crafting stores are so so expensive. I also found that some of those magnets are not very strong so I spent some money and they didn't last

Yay, CissyPantsCrafts! I'm so glad I shared a source for inexpensive magnetic sheets. I've been transferring all my dies to this system for a little over a year now, and it is working so well for me. I'm even adding the magnetic sheets to the HC die folders, because they work so well. Thanks for the wonderful feedback and have fun with this idea! xo

I store all my dies with magnetic sheets (vent covers) and folders from Amazon. I also want all my stuff stored together - I use 8x14 1/2 clear plastic bins for my dies (M-Design from Amazon) - they work very well. Thank you for your tips - good information!!
That sounds like a great system, Cheryl! I wish I had the space in my small studio to store all my dies in the same spot. I know the answer is to weed out the ones I rarely use...but somehow I can't bring myself to part with tools. I purge paper on a regular basis, but tools are harder for me to get rid of. Ugh.. craft storage!! This has been a challenge for me for years. Sometimes it seems I’ve spent as much on craft items as I have storage! My system is similar but less organized. Craft room is bursting at the seams and I don’t do near as much crafting as I used to .. time to purge again! (And yet of course I still buy new because well irresistible!! I’ve tried so many systems and yes those clementine crates are great, but I’ve still not hit on a system that works 100%.. so I end up with a couple systems and trying to remember where things are 😮!! I hadn’t heard of those particular vent covers and will definitely be getting those!! I’ve really enjoyed your organization series and can’t wait for the one on embellishments. Definitely another Ugh!! for me! I have a huge stash and I’ll never use it all. Maybe I’ll box it all up and send it to you 😂 So sweet to see you!
Ha! I am the embellishment queen, my friend! I just love all those little doo dads, so I had to come up with a way to store them. They are the type of item that just groooooows. I think it's easy for me to remember where things are in my studio because it is a rare day when I am not spending time in here. It's my full-time job, so I have a mental map of where things are...unless I move things around and then I'm lost again for a few days. I'm glad you are enjoying the series. Thanks for the lovely comment...and we will gladly take in any orphaned embellishments. LOL
