  • Turbidity is caused by particles suspended or dissolved in water that scatter light making the water appear cloudy or murky. Particulate matter can include sediment - especially clay and silt, fine organic and inorganic matter, soluble colored organic compounds, algae, and other microscopic organisms. Determination of turbidity is an important test parameter for water samples. This video represents a complete procedure for the determination of turbidity using a turbidity meter.

Me too have that instrument ! The same as yours. I've been using it over 10 years and still working perfectly.

if it gave an inaccurate result for the deionized water, how do we calibrate it?

Turbidity range for this instrument is 1000 FTU. How to measure turbidity of greater than 1000 FTU

Use another instrument of wider range to test turbidity at that level

@@MicroChemsExperiments is it appropriate to dilute the sample in order to measure turbidity of greater than 1000 FTU?
