Ford's Transit has ruled the British large LCV market for around half a century, its very name synonymous with its purpose. In the past, this may have had a great deal to do with tradition and the vast choice of derivatives on offer but today's sales success is very much down to quality of product. Four products make up the modernday Transit range. Transit Connect and Transit Courier models look after customers with more compact cargo carrying needs, but here we're going to look at a larger option, the Transit Custom. Launched in 2013, it slotted into the range beneath the largest model, known simply as 'Transit', and was intended to take on Vito and Vivaro-sized Medium-sized vans in the volume part of the LCV sector. It's a very complete commercial vehicle indeed. And a good used buy? Let's see.

Excellent just resetting my clock on work van 👌
Great review….great van
This is a really good video. As Top Gear used to be. Brilliant. Thanks for posting.
Thank you kindly!
Took fuse tester to my fuses in both fuse boxes an none are listing up
That's not a Euro Pallet. You lifted a Standard Pallet & placed it the back 👍
Are you related to William Woollard?
What is to be aware of 2019 onwards Customs? Are there any known serious mechanical problems?
Wet belt issues
@@laurencechapman1990 Yes I've learnt about this. My Ford mechanic says that Ford said you should change this belt after 10 years, they now say after 6 years at a 1500+ Euros. Out Fing rageous! As you know if you do nothing there is a very good chance it will destroy the engine!
I'm on my third one 2.2 never had any major problems
.but I wouldn't have a 2 litre as a gift.
Is this for this the newer models to? Stick to the 2.2? Thanks in advance
I won't buy any van with a wet belt cam think 700 plus to change that belt😅😅😅
@@roycampbell5605 sounds like a great thing to avoid 😂
😅You are cheeating somehow! You change them, but if you try to keep one for 10 years or reach 600-700.000 km??? 🤔🧐😉
CO2 in the atmosphere is only 0.04% at 0.02% plant life starts dying out, how low do they want it ?
Great point that most people are not even slightly aware off. Biggest greenhouse gas is water vapour.
They want it low to reduce the growth of food for the people....
They want us out to live in an crowdless and clean planet...
Stupid selfish demons!
They want it at 0%. It’s a death cult
I heard the ram pro master is much better cheaper and designed better
Timeing wet belt/ failure / costly change a waste of money and garbage vans😢
The 2.2 pre face-lift doesn't have a wet belt. The 2.0 has one
Absolutely agree and ford and a bunch of 👌
67k miles and I’ve had a new engine turbo air con ecu and more
I will never by Ford again
Sorry to hear this mate, so frustrating! Are there any reliable newer vans out there?! Nightmare
@@Elwooddudes no I’m still stuck with the ford 23k 2years ago when I got it
16k in work
My advice buy old or new
4-6 year olds stay away
What year is this? Assuming it’s post 2016?
@@leamdown20 68 so that’s 2018
@@davidowen8805I thought as much. The 2.0 customs are supposed to be less reliable than the 2.2 ones, but the 2.2 ones do have issues with their DPF filters and if they aren’t looked after properly it can cause strains on the rest of the engine such as turbos etc.
Just got my 16 plate 2.2 with 30k on the clock and so far so good, but I won’t know until I’ve had it for a couple of years. Good luck with your search for a better van mate, we rely on them being a reliable workhorse 👍🏻
Terrible unreliable vans engines are rubbish fall in bits around 50.000 miles 😮
