There's nothing wrong with "imitating", biting, or sounding like someone you learned from or admire. The thing is once you rise and get on, the one that help influence you or what have you, give that man the proper due respect, dedicate a verse, song, or hook to the man that influenced you. Let the world know I learned alot from this man..That's just being real and true. Pac probably felt like: "dam homie, where the love at?" Dudes like Master P and Pimp C, made sure they shouted out Pac in their songs..I salute those type of guys.

The stories I’ve heard about Biggie’s first album coming out were about Tupac being excited and proud shot his friend being successful and putting it a great album.
You can’t honestly compare the two’s styles though. They were completely different. They both had impeccable flows, but very different flows. I’ve never heard a Pac radio where he didn’t match the instrumental perfectly. The main thing Pac had that Big didn’t was emotion. No one in radio has ever come close to emoting emotions consistently like Pac did. Big was masterful with similes, metaphors, and wordplay. He was also quite good with more complicated rhyming. Pac didn’t utilise those tactics very much, and instead focused on getting messages and emotions across. Two very different styles of performing.
I wish those two events had never happened, and those two young men had been asked to settle their differences and had gotten back to working together. Maybe the vision that Tupac had could have been realised. We’d have so much amazing music from those two, both separately and together. And, as Tim Roth once said, ‘[Tupac] would probably be doing some really interesting [movies]’ if he were still around.

I grew up in that era too, so I know what i'm talking about. They went to the media talking about "we still got love for Pac, BLAH! BLAH! BLAH!" I just wanted them to let it be known that they didn't like him anymore, instead of trying to play both sides in the media. That's all.

Biggie talked about hustling and the constant threat of being taken out on the streets, whereas 2Pac talked about prophesising his death in general, there were two different things going on.
To expect Biggie to not write at least one track on his album talking about death as a rapper and to say that was exclusively a 2Pac thing, is incredibly unrealistic.
I also heard lifestyle rap was also a problem, that was stolen too, so what would that leave any rapper out there left to rap about? They should just not rap about any of their experiences at all because it's too similar to another rapper's?
