+EveryThing Blind Superview will give you the most field of view. The footage is a little distorted but honestly, most people won't be bothered by it. It's your best bet at capturing what you are pointing at.

Thank you for this face off! Just made my first underwater video with a cheap action denver cam i got from last christmas. I was planning to buy the hero 5 but thought it would be better to start with a hero+ and if i still need improvements i can buy the new hero 6 which will come out end of 2017 begin 2018.
End of this week/next week i'll upload the new video shot with a hero +

I have the hero GoPro the one that in sealed inside the waterproof case , can you advise is there any way of viewing the footage while filming can’t seem to see the wifi function on it hate to think I have to film and view the footage later 😮
Is the battery life of the Hero+ longer if timelapse is used rather than video?
Nice comparison - I picked up a LCD for a pretty good deal a couple weeks back and am loving it so far. Having the screen is pretty useful when you're getting used to using a GoPro for the first time. Thanks for the video! :)

Hey I have 220€ Budget. I can't decide wether to get the hero+ or a rollei 6s wifi. Do you have an opinion on that? The main advantage of the rollei in my opinion is, that its easy to swap to foto quickly while recording and that it can be taken out of it's case -> I could get extra batteries. But I've read many negative comments on the rolleis video quality... Any tips?

Thank you for this very insightful video . I think I will just go with the GoPro Hero for now I'm just basically gonna use it when I mount it on my 60D when I do shoots and do like a vlog sort of video while i do my photoshoots .

I found your review very helpful as I recently purchased the GoPro hero+ but really wanted the hero+LCD, after seeing the quality in the cameras I was happy to open my hero +. I will obviously miss being able to access my footage straight away without the lcd but I can live with that for now.

They had the hero 4 and the Lcd one, so I totally agreed that the screen will be more easier and enjoyable for the first timers like me. I NEED TO KNOW...When the battery cycle life ends, can it be replaced for a new one?
+Rafa Rcchannel No, the battery is no interchangeable. If you are filming on and off it's very easy for this camera to last 1-2 vacation days or 7-8 hours of on and off recording. If you are near an airport and want some extra security, you can buy a USB battery backup charger for a tablet. Use this to to charge your Hero+ LCD when it's not in use during lunch or extended breaks. If you go back to a hotel at night or have a polace you can chargem, you should be fine. Hope this helps and enjoy your trip :D

i have the basic hero, and in waster and even normaly it doesnt have so much warm color, it still has, but not so much, underwater,i t looks like water, not like pond water like in your vids, maybe they fixed it in a patch or they change something idk
hi I have a question I've got a hero lcd + and I want to find a bacpac waterproof because I lost mine , so on the internet there are just bacpac for Hero 3 , 3+ and 4 , I don't know if I can buy a bacpac of the hero 4 and if that works or enter to my Hero lcd +, can you help me please
Anyone for the 3+ and 4 would fit just fine. Just check the seal in a sink or tub empty before taking your camera underwater. I've learned the hard way.

+Ben Dingman Hero3+ is the better camera especially hardware wise. Only benifits I can see of the Hero+ are it's all in one design (less parts to lose or forget at home) and bigger battery. I'd go the Hero3+ Silver.

This might be too late but the battery on my Hero+ LCD lasts about 1-1.5 hrs and takes about 2-2.5 hrs to charge

Is the Hero+LCD compatible with Windows 10. The Hero + will not import to my PC. I have to transfer files with the sd card.
I use mine with the windows 10. Make sure the camera is turned on before you plug it in and not just turned off and charging. Hopefully that helps.
can you do a hero session 4 vs hero + since they are now in the same price range I would love to know which one is a better bargain

+Faed Ahmed Arnob It's pretty much the same as the Hero+ LCD minus the screen. I'm not sure when I'd be able to get to a Quicklook/review of it right now. That LCD review should get you 90% of the way there though. Sorry.

I really don't use the LCD.. So they both are the same. But one for an LCD.

MarkHawkCam so the normal hero+ has the muted sound just like the hero+lcd? so for me, I'm mostly looking to do car stuff with the gopro, the audio is essential since I can't use an external mic. Is the audio really as bad as it seems on the hero+models? would love the wifi and extra settings, but need to be able to pick up the engine noise
Yeah, the issue is the microphone is pretty much trapped in a water proof case. You can adjust the back door to make it better but you'll get the same results I showed on that other video. The Hero4 Session does some decent audio things for being in a waterproof case as well. Has this duel microphone system. You might be better off picking up a Hero3 Black or Hero3+ Black. Hero3+ Silver is pretty good as well. Those might be cheap since they are discontinued.

+Freddy Gaming I would go with the Session personally. The Hero+ has been discontinued and not sure how much support you'll see in the future. Working on a full side by side currently.

+Ben Dingman No chances are I'd just my phone. Remote is good for saving power since it actually can communicate through Bluetooth. Takes a lot less energy then wifi.

Awesome video. I got the hero+ at target for $160 because they price matched with Amazon. Pretty sweet! I don't mind not having the lcd because I have the app on my phone. These cameras are great.

+Matthew Bell I'd recommended the hero plus. Only because of the wifi. As long as you have a smartphone there is the GoPro app for droid or apple devices. Save the $100 rather than getting the lcd hero plus. Use the other $100 for mounts or a micro sd. Just utilize your phone as the LCD. I've posted a video on my channel of me driving with the hero 3 with wifi it's pretty good.

+david vucina Not sure what your metrics are but could be one of a few things. The Hero4 Silver has ISO settings which could be set to 1600. The Hero+ doesn't have ISO settings and it's default maybe higher. Something like 6400. It might seem brighter but it could be noiser too. I'd update the Hero4 Silver (adds some more ISO options) and find one you line. 100 being darkest but clean and 6400 being brightest but noisest.
Could also be the difference in Micro SD cards. The Hero4 Silver can write higher bit rates but if your card doesn;t write the speeds it needs to, the camera might downgrade your footage in order to write it to the card at a speed it can handle.
those would be the two areas I'd explore.
Dear Mark thanks for your response.In hero 4 silver there is the newest firmware and microsd class 10 UHS 3 samdisk extreme.And in hero lcd plus also latest firmware and samsung evo class 10 UHS 1. In real life footage in the dark hero lcd plus is winning in the dark and by a ton.I cant believe. +ian marquez movies Eyes are pretty sensitive to light and off the cuff test of filming underwater.
i dont like the idea of the + and the +lcd, this cammera is supposed to be cheap, and they are giving you a camera that is not as good as the 4 for 300$, i find it a bit stupid.
+ctpOMG Most people did and GoPro had a hard time messaging it among other things in 2015. They've since stopped manufacturing them and are focusing on the Hero4 Session, Silver, and Black. They've also "slightly" dropped the price of all of these.

I really don't understand timelapse.....I just shoot it then speed it up in editing....Quicker easier....
Higher quality stills vs lower quality video. It also takes up less space on your card in the process. Both are fine but each offers its advantages and disadvantages.
Thank you ...but I havent noticed the difference in quality.....I film....then speed it up....I dont have to sit around waiting.....On another point,,,,I have never ever had a problema with card space....the only problem with the GOPRO that stops filming is the battery life.

+ROY F Taken it out a dozen times now on long hikes or multiday adventures. I'm not recording everything under the sun but when it's not recording the camera uses very minimal power when not connect to wifi.
