    14:52 Where To Buy The Best Travel Keyboards, Synths & Pianos
    Sam's voice was recorded using a Rode LavGo lavalier microphone: bit.ly/2XHmwp9
    In this buying guide, we run through the main features of 5 of the best travel pianos, keyboards and synths. Now obviously, there's a huge range of small MIDI controller keyboards on the market, from the likes of Novation, M-Audio, Arturia and Native Instruments, but these aren't much good unless you've got a computer to connect them to.
    So when selecting the keyboards for this video, we decided that they all had to tick off a list of travel based criteria. To be a truly standalone travel piano, they must have onboard sounds and built-in speakers, they have to offer the option of being battery powered, and most importantly, they must be small enough to fit in a backpack or suitcase.
    With all this in mind, we've selected 5 keyboards to suit different budgets, applications and levels of playing ability, so if you're looking for the best portable piano, best cheap keyboard for beginners or best small synthesiser or mini midi controller, hopefully we can point you in the right direction!

    The CP has a hidden grand piano. Start from power off, put the selector between two instruments, turn it on.

      He should have shown that because a grand piano voice is a lot more popular and gives it a lot more value over the electric piano voices

    Use to play piano a bit better than average then arthritis struck my hands. Now I’m in my 70’s and rather sedentary and would like a “lap “ piano to start playing again. The foldable model or the Alesis harmony 32 seem like they would both work well in my situation and price point. Any preference suggestions from those who have used these?

    I would love to have all of the Reface series but that wouldn't be too portable lol as with the Roland. That is not a portable keyboard, just offers stand alone features. Those folding keyboards, well, who are they actually marketed too? That Alesis is a disgrace. I've seen toy keyboards better, the Casio SA45 for example. I'm surprised you didn't mention the one I finally ended up with. It's not perfect but gives me playable instruments and 2 drum kits on the keys. The Yamaha PSS-A50 works for me. Love this Channel and even tho I'm in the USA, you folks are still one of my go-to channels for the Best Honest Product Reviews! :)

  • @LukeSimpson
    @LukeSimpson Před 2 lety +5

    I would love to find a keyboard that has:
    -pad sounds
    -3 to 4 octave keyboard
    -octave shift
    And if they have time:
    -basic effects and EQ
    -no demo songs
    -if they really must put demo songs in it, how about just maybe not a big button that starts the same demo song that my 2-year-old son wants to push any time he sees the keyboard (looking at you, Casio SA-76…)
    I feel like that could be done relatively cheaply?

  • @Zoco101
    @Zoco101 Před 4 měsíci

    Many touring professional pianists would value a more portable piano, still with a graded weighted action. The number of keys is less important than the action and the portability, but manufacturers refuse to understand this. A hotel room/airline compatible/motorhome/boat practice piano is badly needed.

  • @thomasschatton3481
    @thomasschatton3481 Před 2 lety +4

    From a pianist's view these keyboards are all gimmicks or gadgets. A keyboard that could be seriously considered as a piano to go for serious piano players is the piano de voyage. Have you tried that one?

    • @vladimird5280

    None of those are travel size. I think we have a very different definition of travel size. For you travel size means a large keyboard that is made slightly smaller and more compact. For me travel size means is completly portable even pocketable.

    02:05 "About 5 hours of playing time from 6 AA batteries" That is near useless! who only plays for so few hours?! No one who really practices a lot, only plays so little... That removes Yamaha Reface from any probability of taking it on a travel trip. Casio SA76 will last for 1+ MONTHS of playing on it's 6 AA batteries (especially if headphones are used instead of builtin speaker).
