Ha ha, you are way too kind. This took a heap of work that I did not foresee, the story of my woodworking life lol. Pretty happy though, mostly went with very few hitches. Would do a couple of things differently in hind sight. a thicker carbon layer would have been best as I had to do a few repairs. Just by fluke I did realise a couple of awesome finishing tricks which I'll use in future. Ah the joys of tricky building, it's a beautiful thing! Have a great day dude and all the best!

This is awsome! Personaly i realy love the combination of the sort of scientific, modern look of the carbon fibre and the contrast with the "old" and traditional wood. (realy awsome pieces of wood by the way).
Thanks V! I too love the contrast between wood and carbon, still kind of earthy but with a twist. Its very similar to wood in that you can carve it and sand it. Blows my mind how strong it is, its a cool thing, cheers!

Bro, where'd you get the Carnuba? I think I'd done a search for it a few years ago and isolated pure carnuba pellets from people whom were making perfumery. If I remember correctly I was going to dissolve it in white spirits and beeswax, or was it methylated spirits? Oh, and by the way and out on a tangent, do you know the scientific name of that shell, used lot's in Pacifica, and tending into Micronesia, jewellery which is tinged a vibrant mid green. the shells are big and flat and of a scallop type except without the ridging.
Oops, I'm Kiwi too, that's potentially for top worlders, which maybe explains the need for sourcing of materials in quite odd ways... we often, way down here, can't simply go out and buy something but have to research how a specific commodity might be used in other industries.
Hi Sean. Thanks for the questions. The canuba is just a finished product I got from Bummings. Forgotten the brand however the wax is dissolved in limonene, citrus oil, which suits me better than something like toluene. The shellac flakes on the other hand are getting quite hard to source in bulk. I used to get from hammer hardware on Dominion Rd who sold bags of the stuff However the owners have changed hands now. You can get flakes off Tarde Me but they are pricey. Yeah sucks being in the land of hard to source everything. Zinzer Bullseye shellac in the spray is bomb diggity awesome, but Bummings no longer sell it. You can still source it from Haydon paints. Not sure where to get that green shell, seems like it may be endemic to sth East Asia perhaps. Cheers
