interesting that given that AUTEL is not apart of your lineup, i know you said that DJI'S App is more intuitive but AUTEL EVO'S app seems not too difficult, but i do agree when i use my DJI drone the APP'S features do seem more easy to use, but it would be interesting to see you do a review EVO'S lineup if you haven't already....it would also be interesting if the FAA ramps up REMOTE ID and the Mavic 3 is not up to their standards for Remote id, how many people would be pissed after spending so much on this drone lol! Overall i know this is not your complete review of the Mavic 3 but given how critical you are to these products, you've really given a pass to the Mavic 3 because it seems you given it mostly positive approval but thanks for the video & comprehensive information!
There's many reasons why we only sell DJI at this time. That may change in the future as we are always testing new aircraft with keeping an open mind as possible. BTW, Interest in Autel from customers is almost non existent and doesn't justify carrying inventory at this time.
No doubt the Mavic 3 is a good product. However the term Flagship Drone should carry with it a certain aura, a certain top of the line, pretty much near flawless expectation in every aspect and this release clearly does not meet my expectations. The Fly App is not an improvement over the robust Go 4 App. Its the same app used with the entry level Mini 2 drone for Pete's sake! Same minimalistic controller. I've been flying DJI drones for 6 years and I've noticed a pattern with their marketing plan. The 1st model is always good but lacks what will follow in just short order. Forcing you to buy the product all over again. That was true of the P4 series, the Mp1 series, the Mp2 series, Air2 and likely this M3 series will follow the same pattern. I'm going to wait for the M3 Pro. Have you noticed every thing has a Pro version. The Air 2s is the Pro version of the Air2 by the way. The next iteration will likely be the product we really want and correct all of the problems with the current version/1st model. For me they've fooled me a couple of times but enough is enough. Remote ID is just around the corner, is it even compatible?I'll wait and see just a bit before I buy it! Thanks for your excellent excellent review. Keep them coming! Loving your content 100%
Omg I love the way you guys described the Mavic 3 in detail. Inspections and minor videography is the very thing I would like to do with this drone. Thank you for making me feel like my purchase was not over priced..
Excellent thorough review, thanks Dave! Your channel is my go-to for well thought out DJI reviews!
More content please. You gained a new fan
Great review! I bought one as soon as DJI announced it during their reveal. Everything you said is spot on! Also, I did a test with Pix4D. I manually flew a pattern and threw it into Pix4D, worked fine. The images are twice the size as the ones from my p4pros pictures, 16 MB each…
Thanks.
nice video✌liked & subscribed, thanks for sharing😀
Next level aerial visuals and I’m here for it. Very impressive drone!👌
I noticed that the covers of the LEDs on the motor arms move a little at the pressure you can check if it also moves minimally on your model thanks
I don’t have any movement on mine at all hmmm!!
Fantastic review! Thanks
Good job sir I'm Michael from the Philippines
Mavic 3 can capture ANYTHING!
Hello! I would appreciate if anyone can help! Can I insert an external SD card to help with the limited 8gb of storage on the mavic 3? If so, say I insert a 64gb card and run out of room for footage during my session, and need to insert a new SD card. Am I able to take out the first SD card and immediately download it onto the computer? Also, when recording, I'm afraid my video will somehow split and some will be saved onto internal storage and some may be on my SD card. Can I make it to where it's all saved on the SD card to avoid getting split? Last question, for footage saved solely on the internal 8gb storage, if I want to upload this onto my laptop I have to have the whole drone plugged into my laptop right?
Is there any difference in the quality of the footage using internal storage memory vs SD card memory?
THANK YOU!! !!
Very good preview. I just want to correct you something. In the 4:22 mins you talk about 1T (Bytes) capacity but you spoke 1T Bits :))
That’s all greats job
Great review. Totally agree with your comments on the dji fly app!
Hi there, great review! Thanks
Hi Dave, thank you for the in-depth video about the M3. One question though, in the comparison with the M2 where the video shows banding and some rolling, is that better in both ProRes and D-Log or just ProRes? Thanks.
Better in Pro res and H264.
Do you feel the Smart Controller is worth the upgrade ? Thank you, and thank you for the informative video.
Yes I probably would not fly if I had to use my phone.
Thanks for this great review.
Now this seems like one credible review. Upgrading the Air2S soon
I love this channel
Thank you.
Very nice drone
Compare to my Mavic 2 zoom the my Mavic 3 makes it feels like a toy especially in the zoom department! Thanks for the outstanding review!
Can I add a thermal camera or night vision to this?
How abt flying in a light rain?
No thermal can't be added, and its not water resistive.
Also air sence has been around for 2 gens now for consumer drones... The Mavic Air 2 & Air 2s have them... 👍🏼👍🏼
Why would that have been a point of interest for anyone to mention in the video? I mentioned that it isn't new to DJI and was on the Mavic Mini 2 which as been out for a year.
@@SteelCityDronesahh ok sorry I misunderstood what you were saying... My Fault.... Apologies 👍🏼👍🏼
Did you leave the yaw settings at factory of customize those?
Yes Correct all factory settings.
Nice review
HOW DO YOU MOVE THE GIMBAL FROM LEFT TO RIGHT ?
Yaw the aircraft.
love the video! Great information. Would you say its a respectable upgrade from the Phantom 4 Pro? Thank you!
Yes, the P4 is old technology and the improvements are significant.
I wish... Great video / review
Nice review, as always.
Awesome Tutorial 💪
Nice review Dave. I'm curious; Have you had any issues with initial connection between the aircraft and the RC Pro when starting up the unit? Very often when I power on the components the Fly app will just show the title screen. Over the weeks I have found that if I power on both components at close to the same time all is well and operates as normal. My only other annoyance with this system is the fact that the Fly app reverts back to initial settings when the 5-Way button is configured to my liking.
P.S. Be aware of the "blind-spot" using the front vision sensors as illustrated on page 20 (center illustration) of the user manual.
I have not experienced any connection issues with the Aircraft and the RC Smart Controller during our testing. Agreed about the vision sensors, they are not perfect.
23:06 RTK (MAPPING) could I not just get the add-on Module on the M2 Enterprise Advance?
Not sure what you mean add on module for mapping? If you are referring to the RTK module yes it will improve positioning but that camera is not geared for mapping at all.

Should we expect to see a Mavic 3 Enterprise later down the line? Have you heard anything about that at all?
It's inevitable.
@@SteelCityDrones I really hope so, I hope they could expand or further improve the capabilities of the Mavic 2 Enterprise Advanced.
Great video… How does the x5s compare to the mavic 3 cine for day light… I have the x5s and I fly mainly from small boats… and would love to leave my inspire at home… thank you
Very similar. Lots of footage we show are Shot with X5s and inspire 2.
Thank you… if I have the mavic 3 Cine… in your opinion… do you think it’s similar enough to leave the x5s at home… or since I have it … it’s worth using over the mavic 3 cine? Thank you
Except thermal capability, would you say that this drone is better than M2EA ?
Yes.
@@SteelCityDrones ooups. Do you mean that it is no more worth buying a M2EA ?
i have put some black sponge material around the gimbal. problem solved.
You shouldn't have to do that and 99% of users won't do that.
@@SteelCityDrones it keeps the gimbal in place. Also I have stuck two small clear sticky tapes on the back legs where they rest on the gimbal. That stopped them from making scratches on the gimbal.
Wait…Mavic 2 doesnt do UHD 60p?! Is there Tripod/sport/standard toggle switch? Any 60p is going to cut your bitrate by over half so expect reduced fine detail on moving shots. 23.98 is always going to render the highest sustained IQ because if this.
We never said mavic 2 doesn’t do 60 frames per second.
Bit rate is not reduced in pro res.
@@SteelCityDrones Oh I thought you did a comparison at UHD 60p which can't be done on Mavic Pro 2. Regarding image quality, bitrate is divided by framerate. So resolution per frame is reduced when increasing framerate without also increasing bitrate. (EG. Shooting for slo-mo at 200mb/s 60p is only 80mb/s at 24p.) Regardless, I appreciate the content and the in depth review.
@@marcusthompson666 pretty sure you’re wrong there bro. If you film at 60p add 200 bit, you’re still getting all that information on the card. When you export a 24P timeline, you’re not losing resolution.
@@cuuppaajoe Maybe the math will help you understand my point.
60p at 200mb “per second”. That “second” is baked in and distributed over each frame. 3.33mb per frame.
24p at 200mb per second. That is 8.33mb per frame.
24p is almost 3x the bit rate per frame. Paused frame in a pan on trees will show more branches and fine detail. Try it for yourself and compare.
8:25 total BS on DJI's part... that was ++$600 waested
and with the new controller more than $1000 that is a big blow to those on a limited budget.
27:33 WHAT A JOKE, You can see clear as day the number on the back of the truck and the url which is much slower.. You purposely moved the aircraft into a position as to have extreme reflection from the sun. Don't be lazy, just explain that on the Mavic 3 you cannot zoom in any further, but the image is still crystal clear from that distance, instead of lying and putting in the extra effort of trying to deceive the viewers. Very disappointing.
David Lee - Is this David Lee Roth of Van Halen? If so I am honored. First off let me ask you a couple questions. Who else has gone to the lengths and trouble to do these tests? Can you provide any links? Do you have any idea how much time is involved to do a video like this? WE offer the most comprehensive reviews on drones you can find. We have no hidden agenda and we are not just going to point out the good points to sell drones. Did you actually watch the complete video? Did you see all the good things we had to say about this aircraft? So to say you are disappointed because we didn't put the extra effort in is a response that we have never heard in the 6 years we have been making video reviews which includes more than 2 million views.
We did not purposely position the aircraft into any position. We did the same altitude for every distance away to keep consistency. You need some what direct sunlight on a subject and not have the plate in a shadow area to the point that it becomes unreadable. That test was actually 60 degrees off center of direct sunlight with the sun coming from the cameras south east position. Would you rather us tell viewers that if you are in completely cloudy weather you can get better results? You can also see that the limitation is not actually the cameras resolution but its inability to manually adjust the compensation to get the exposure correct. DJI does not allow fine tuning of the exposure through Aperture, ISO, and shutter speed in zoom mode and that is a bit of an issue I found when trying to do a lot of work. That is a limitation and whether you agree or not that is a limitation. We actually should have made a better effort to point out that limitation if anything.
@@SteelCityDrones I see my words were a bit aggressive and you've been maligned by them. I actually was watching quite a few of your videos before I finally stumbled onto this one, and as a Mavic 3 owner myself I was excited to see this particular comparison in relation to a lot of the other drone tests outside of this video. When I saw the results needless to say I was a bit disappointed, but I don't believe now that you were lazily deceiving anyone. I do however think that you could have done this test later in the afternoon to produce better results but we can't change history. Looking forward to seeing future videos, and no that is not my name...
