  • Steel City Drones makes custom mounting systems for hand held gas meters for the DJI Matrice 300 and DJI Matrice 350. The handheld meter attaches to the frame and allows the H20T camera to capture the data on the meter in real time for Hazmat and Public Safety hazardous situations.
Our new design is over 1 pound lighter and extremely strong to handle the most heavy duty applications. For more information please contact us directly at support@steelcitydrones.com

Would have to be a major leak in order for the meter to read with the wash of the blades wouldn’t it?

No UAV mounted system is going to be a perfect solution however we placed the meter where it minimizes prop wash and it is effective to get usable data. We place the meter in between the 2 back props and slightly below them so there is no noticeable prop wash at that specific spot. We did a lot of R&D to make a workable solution. If you then go slowly straight up with the drone it will meter the gases and get good data. The FLIR MUVE C360 is placed under the drone in a normal camera sensor prop which experiences a lot more prop wash and that is a very expensive solution. Ultimately it would ideal to have the meter on the top of the drone but its impossible to get a top mounted camera to focus on the display that close to the meter. The minimum focus distance of the H20T is the distance we setup our configuration which is not possible to do on the top of the drone. Hope this helps.

wouldn't the rotors blow the gas away.
