I feel you're right about People essentially making it something it isn't, That's one thing about artists, and good singers in general, they don't need to be singing about one specific person or event. They tap into the emotion needed to portray the song in its full glory, people writing tabloids and obsessed with drama just use that ability to make it look like something it may not be. 🙄 just my opinion though
