- Welcome back. In this video I am removing the silencers from my Akra. Watch this step by step guide on how to make your Euro 5 Akrapovic exhaust sound louder and nicer (in my opinion anyways).
Spoiler alert it sounds amazing!!

Wow. Thankyou so much. I will be doing this when I get my exhaust 🙏🏼
ONLY ONE MISTAKE, you left the db killer holes open, exhaust fumes will exit into the carbon fiber cone, its better to plug them, just a flat bolt going in from the hole out and a nut outside to hold it. Then it be perfect 😉😉😉😉😉
Thanks for the great show ! good job
Thank you a lot! I did the same on mine and thanks to you it was super easy!
Well done awesome sound!!!!!!!
Cooool. ❤👌🤘🙋🏽♂️
Merciiii ❤🎉🎉🎉
Thanks, obrigado..... muito fácil
verry good
Great video, thanks for sharing. I have an RS with the same black Titanium Akrapovic exhaust you have. I'm considering getting new headers without the CAT and potentially removing the baffles. However, I thought removing the baffles would be too troublesome. You made it look easy. Can you share the drill bit and rivet sizes? Are you still enjoying the sound? Thank you.
Thanks for stopping by! I am not too sure for the size I just lay one on top and show that it was the exact same diameter as the rivers. The sound is something that you need to text for yourself and check if you like it. It’s definitely louder and engine sounds very a lot. Cheers!
You may remove only one baffle, not both. Sound will be always better than genuine, for sure.
Can you remove the db killer of Hayabusa's euro 5 akrapovic slip on exhausts like this??
Any idea what size drill bit you used and what size the replacement rivets were ?
The drill bit size for any standard rivet is always 4mm diameter. Looking at the video, I believe that the rivets he installed are standard aluminum rivets, usually the length changes a little (which varies depending on the thickness you need to rivet), but even if they were a little longer than necessary, you can use anyway and you will just have to pull a little more with the riveter..
Wonder if this will work on my new gs1300 Akropovic?
Hey, what is the internal diameter on the muffler exit with and without the db killer? I have a Mivv muffler with a single exit hole, and I wonder if the sectional area is larger on the Akrapovic with dual holes. My db killer seems to reduce a lot the diameter.
I am not too sure about the exact diameter but I can tell you that when you remove the db killer it’s almost empty in there 😂. I think that what the db killer does anyways it reduces the diameters which restricts the way the air exits and makes it quieter.
Reading : silencer and euro 5 in the same sentence gives me anxiety already 😂
If you do that much trouble why not put black rivets back in, it would look more oem again
I've been looking into doing this for my '23 R1250RS Akrapovic exhaust, but the carbon cap on mine doesn't have any of the rivets you drilled out. I continue to be baffled (pun intended) on how to get the true Akra noise from my $1000 USD exhaust... Mine is barely louder than stock.
Hey Brett thanks for stopping by and also subscribing. Much appreciated Sir. I ‘ve heard that there is a way to drill the carbon from the inside to get access to a screw that holds the silencer in place. Akra also sells a little rubber insert to block that hole after. Maybe something to look at 😉 safe rides
@@rank1adv Awesome, I will look into it! Be safe as well!
Probably should have put back the 2 bolts so exhaust doesn't leak into the inner carbon cover.
I did consider putting them on but the fumes come out so fast that there is no chance to go through those holes.
no way of putting them back on, they screw into the db killer, i plugged mine with 2 short flat bolts and to nuts, then its all good..............
Hello ...... I bought that same exhaust. The sound is louder / hoarse than the sound of the Akrapovic that is sold in Bmw. Yours also sounds louder than the Akrapovic on sale at BMW
Hi there! That is correct. I have a friend of mine that the Akra that came with the bike from BMW and mine was way louder without the baffles on. Thanks for watching!
I tell you with the installed db killers that this exhaust makes more noise than the akrapovic that sells Bmw, both with the db killers installed. Is this correct?
No I think with the db killer it’s the same I heard both without the db killer and mine was significantly louder
Thanks for your video. Good quality video and very nice music too. I was curious if you broke any drill bits? I wouldn't have done that job without clamping it down before drilling.
Thank you so much I appreciate you watching. No I didn’t brake any drill bits and yea clumping it down would definitely help no damaging/being more stable. I was lucky and I didn’t scratch the exhaust
Quel rivet avez vous utilisé ? Si vous avez une référence à me donner svp ?
Rivet de 3
Just never visit Germany France Spain Austria or they will take the bike off you if they even suspect you have tampered with it.
I will like to see them try.
Take plates down or confiscate bike?
And it all means nothing without full akrapovič pipes... With no katalizator and no exup valve.
Why not just drill two holes in the carbon and remove the two screws. You can cover the holes with the Akra rubber plugs and then have the ability to replace the remove the baffles whenever you need.
You are not wrong you can absolutely do that I just didn’t want to drill the carbon for something I want be doing often anyways.
True, a lot of unnecessary steps when you can drill two holes in under 5 minutes and have the ability to put the db killers back whenever you need to
can I send you mine and you do it for mine ? (I’ll pay)
Le cose dei vecchi rivetti le hai lasciate dentro ? Poi senza foro di servizio nel coperchio in carbonio hai richiuso tutto ? Naaa non ci credo...che lavoraccio
So loud! What is the reason to produce more noise?
Feel the power! ;)
so IDIOT DRIVERS will hear the bike and know some one is around, many drive scratching their nuts and pay no attention
Stupidity
TÜV sagt nein
Not nice sound....after hard work
Fart can
OEM sounds better.
Wenn sie dich in Deutschland zb. anhalten dann ist dein Motorrad stillgelegt.
dB Killer etwas bearbeiten und wieder rein damit, viel besser.
Selbst das bekommen sie spitz. 😊
You know you can buy a removable baffle version, right?
No you can't. Not in Europe for sure.
Not in the UK you can’t, all baffles here are sealed or welded in. Ended about 4 years ago.
@@jackwednesdayOf course you can. Just buy a Euro 3 compliant version.
The one i brought for my GS in 2023 had removable baffles. Granted, the grub screws and a tack welded on them, they we're easily removable.
@@poonchildabsolutely, I 100% agree, but they aren’t stamped for MOT pass. How do I know? I failed last summer with my yoshi despite having baffle in and cat still installed. Not to do with noise but lack of stamp. Had to refit stock then take off again. MOT pass now requires photo of rear plate at legit size with reflector and any aftermarket can has to have the euro stamp. My yoshi was race fit 2018, 100% thought it was road legal when bought 😱😱😱
@@jackwednesday Yuck. That’s unbelievable
Why make it louder. Really
It’s more about getting the most out of the exhaust we spent a considerable amount of money to buy.
It gives the proper sound and performance gains, not the government restricted version.
This is how they should, and use to sound before regulations.
Cause it’s more civilized.
