I'm bummed that my Spurs were the first team to win a championship on ABC network in 2003. Winning the championship was awesome but the experience on ABC made it feel so watered down compared to their 1999 NBA Championship which was on NBC.

I'm pretty sure they do... and they also realize how people watch TV nowadays is not on cable TV and will be even less so in 5 -10 years. Of all the networks NBC has the best streaming platform and in order for me to watch TNT, I have to subscribe to CZcams TV or Sling.

@@SC68170 Charles Barkley was not woke at all. He was very critical of BLM and defund the police movement. Ernie and Kenny were on the "woke" side but Chuck wasn't and Shaq usually kept quiet on the matter of social justice. Just youtube "charles barkley social justice" or "charles barkley blm"

They are the best sports show in all of sports period. NFL with all the crews combined and I’m talking about CBS NBC FOX ESPN do not come close. MLB NHL none of them match up to these dudes

I watched the interview and it’s not that easy. 1) the fact that they are the best creates an issue because they want more money and usually the network doesn’t want to pay. 2) the contract that is due is NBA with TNT but the contract between TNT and the guys, still up. Chuck was the only one who was smart enough to put a clause saying: if TNT loses its contract with the NBA, He becomes a free agent 😁 the other guys has contracts with TNT. So it’s very complicated.
TNT will be excstatic to get rid of there contracts if they don't have NBA. Lol, I can see Ernie now. MJF uhhh hits Darby Allin in the waist basket.

I can tell you one thing, if NBC is the reason this show ends, a lot of people will hold a grudge against NBC. This is the reason a lot of us even tune in some nights.
Not just NBC but TNT's lack of streaming platform. People don't watch cable TV and Peacock has proven to be the superior streaming service of all the networks.
I disagree…Even though the is group is probably the best in the sports, some of us remember back when the NBA was on NBC before….It was a magical time when the NBA was on NBC…Hopefully they can bring back some of that magic…Also Ernie won’t leave TNT so they’ll have to break up either way….
No way in 2024 would NBC buy something like this and keep it all men. At least two of them are gettin the axe and they will be replaced with WNBA analysts or ex players. You know, if not all of em. Like people said, they will probably want raises and NBC aint doing that.

They are funny….but not always the most insightful. Ernie is constantly keeping the team in productive conversation and that is why he wins the Emmys. but another combo of comic genius and opinion may also be awaiting this gig…one better than imagined. Hopefully nothing with the loud barking Stephen A involved…as I have a hard time hearing his yelling voice.

Let’s be honest. That show would be whack without Sir Charles.
It won't be the same without hearing Charles & Shaq talking smack to each other, while Jet just butting in with his side jokes. All while Ernie is just keeping it chill and being the smoothest white guy that he is, who I just remembered got the black masters jacket. Thats truly an honor 🤣 😂

As much as I love this quartet of hosts, it is also their crew that makes the show. NBC really would need to bring over their staff imo. The whole team does an amazing job.

Yea, those days were awesome. In South Texas, our local ABC affiliate would televise all Spurs away games.... then it all moved to cable TV (Fox Sports) sometime in the very late 90s. As a kid we were broke and lived out in a rural area, no way would I have ever become a fan of the NBA or my team without the exposure on over the air tv.
NBC would be smart to have these four on their show. It be a win, win for NBC

Lets be honest, part of NBC willing to pay that much is to also get these 4 as well. They aren't that stupid to act like Inside hasn't been a ridiculous ratings keeper for anything NBA related.
Ernie has lived, went to school and covered over a dozen sports (including World Cup, Wimbledon, many Olympics, nfl, MLB, college hoops-football) in Atlanta since early 1960's. Went to college and worked there. Its not about money with him, i justdon't see him moving. (But having a studio in Atlanta to record the show would be doable).
Then you have the fact he signed a long term extension 2yrs ago and he can do what he wants.
Its sad, but at least the show will be ended while all of them still alive. It would be more devastating if the show is ended because they passed away.
That was quite a hint that Chuck gave.
And the one on Inside the NBA this past Sunday night where instead of announcing the All-Rookie team at 2pm, he'll be on LinkedIn.

But they'd can make them a podcasts with on 4 and still kept the spots show up
