the first time i watched this Sakura moment, i was like "yay finally~"
but now i've grown up, learnt things, and understand more what really was going on, so i don't feel the same was as before.
Sakura basically saying "i love you now bcs youre a hero and Sasuke suck"
And when Naruto said "you lie", Sakura start to playing victim lol. I know that wasnt her intentions, but why she choose that? Playing with Naruto's feeling..
And the fact that Naruto couldnt believe Sakura would love him is just the saddest realisation.

I think Sakura is, at the same time, trying to convince herself saying to her inside thoughts that Naruto is the logic and smarter choice to fall for but unfortunately, at the end feelings don't work that way.
While I respect Sakura for trying help Naruto by relieving him pain and burden she unintentionally placed on him, I don't agree with her playing with his heart, big no no. I will admit I hated Sakura for that for a brief moment during the manga run

a) sakura did it in his best interests - she was quite literally just told that her bestfriend was slowly killing himself going after sasuke because of the promise he made to HER, she felt insanely guilty and made a rash decision because she genuinely wanted to protect naruto and lift this massive burden off of his shoulders.

I think yall are on point that Sakura was trying to convince herself as well as Naruto. I honestly think that she was willing to assist in Sasuke's assassination, and to then pour herself into Naruto. The only thing is that it would make Naruto 2nd best, which Naruto knowing that ESPECIALLY rejected her words. Sakura DID acknowledge that falling in love with Naruto was a whole lot better for her than chasing after a rouge ninja of Sasuke's caliber, BUT she misunderstood Naruto's feelings between the 3 of them. Sakura, going only off of Sai's words (which he had no business telling her in the first place) thought that it was the promise Naruto made to her alone that caused him to chase after Sasuke so fervently. She misinterpreted Naruto and Sasuke's bond as the orphan outcasts of the Hidden Leaf village, and thought it would be better for Naruto (and herself) in the long run if Sasuke were just dead. It was a kindness for Naruto AND Sasuke in a way. Naruto would no longer be burdened by a promise that he might not be able to keep (which goes against his Nindo), and Sasuke would no longer see himself becoming more marred by hatred, losing his sense of self in his revenge (albeit, at the cost of his life). Something I had to keep in mind as well is that Sakura is a 16 year old child soldier trying to navigate love and hate, amongst other HUGE concepts of morality in a world where she feels she has helped to assist in the pain of her two childhood friends by being weak herself. There's a lot of self-esteem issues not quite put on display, or even explained/written well. It's just that after watching the rest of the series I've kinda been able to understand Sakura more. Still, I think this was poorly executed, and that speaks to Kishimoto's issues with writing romance. Not the worst thing the world though. Just not executed in the way I, or many of us would've hoped. If they were to ever remake the series, if they changed about 5 lines, the conversation would be fixed imp

It is not that kishimoto had this badly executed at all... it did show and made us feel exactly what he wanted us to in this instance... It is just that the set up romance from the very beginning was bad but this scene made complete sense... I do hate the character sakura because it was badly written 80% of the time thou but this scene was good in my opinion... Even though she somehow stupidly believes she can fix this it does feel "realistic" that she would make a mistake that stupid...

I really dont get why people think that Sakura is written badly or this line is poorly executed or whatever.. Its what it suppose to freaking be! It was written that way by Kishimoto purposely. Bad wrighting is when the author were aiming for something, but didn't hit that goal or didn't evoke proper emotions. People do mistakes and do stupid things. This scene for me humanises Sakura more and show that the characters doesn't always do the best things. I feel like good wrighting for sertain people is when the character only does good and never do something wrong, which is pretty stupid concept..
Also 16 yo is not a child, 6 yo is a child.. and 16 is an age, when people are preparing for adulthood and suppose to make decisions themselfs and live their own lives.

I believe that this whole scene could have been better executed, if have show Sakura struggling more to find what she have to do.
But it was used as a "surprise" and with a "comic effect" that only made the situation worse.
This is where Sakure make her biggest mistake which destroy her image .. Now she admit love naruto...Naruto was not that idiot..It's like Sakura manipulating Naruto's feelings.

Responding to Devi, there were some instances in Naruto where Sakura seemed to improve in her feelings towards Naruto. But the way Sakura acted in her confession just wasn't natural. If Sakura did have feelings towards Naruto, I feel like she would've been more subtle in how she presented and expressed them. It was just too abrupt.
This episode pissed me off so much lol🤦🏾♂️also Hinata actually loves Naruto, but we didn’t get to see anything with them two after she actually confessed her love to him vs Pain

Ma boi Naruto didn’t deserve this. All his life he had a crush on Sakura since he was a small kid. He’s done so much for her and she has never given him an eye. She has hurt his feeling so many times and now she really knows Naruto loves her she manipulates his feeling for her own goals. Naruto has gone through loss and some heavy philosophical crisis and then chases after Sasuke after hearing he’s officially committed crimes which might end up in his execution by the Five Great Nations. And then Sakura comes here to add more emotional pain/conflict in Naruto’s heart. I really love Naruto kind of like he’s my son since Jiraiya died or at moments when he’s bullied. So I really hated Sakura for this for quite some time (100 episodes or so before I kind of forgave her but also not really 😂)

Sakura obviously loves Naruto just not in a romantic way. Sure she went about this the wrong way but she constantly sees how much of a burden Naruto is under and is convinced that it's because of her and the promise Naruto made to her. Also keep in mind that she is a 16 year old girl. Everybody does stupid things at that age without fully thinking it through. The fact that Naruto can see what she is doing and the average viewer can't is always amusing to me. Should she be scolded for her actions? Of course but you shouldn't hate her for it. That just makes you just as immature as she was at this moment. Also getting Sasuke back is Naruto's burden not Sakura's. What Sai said was misguided but was enough to convince Sakura to go to such extremes. Naruto's promise to get Sasuke back was never even about Sakura. Hence Naruto's words in part 1 in his fight against Sasuke. Sakura was just as manipulated as Naruto was. Just Naruto was able to see through the words.

You guys love to laugh at her but praise Lee for being a hard worker and not being in a special clan with crazy kekkai genkai or Jutsu's. Lee and Sakura are literally the amazing underdogs that strived hard and became amazing ninjas through hard work and dedication.

Im not a sakura hater, but I wouldn't even be mad if at least she had a more solid plan. But thinking you will have any opportunity to stab sasuke with a kunai, has to be the lowest iq strat in entire Naruto
I may be 2 years late, but I think Sakura just didn't want to lose them both. Not in a romantic way, but to see them die and the wrong one to become victorious.
Reading comprehensively from Sakura's perspective, that scene told me:
"If they were to fight, the winner will be Naruto The Hero of The Village or Sasuke The Criminal... I don't want to lose both; I don't even want to risk losing both. So forget the promise, Naruto -- don't burden yourself with it. Also: I don't want to feel this love for a hopeless man and for a fantasy. I will deal with this matter on my own. I will kill four birds with one stone."
Exhibit A: "You liked me because of your rivarly with Sasuke, right?" Sakura always knew this, hence why she thought relieving Naruto from the promise could work release some of the tension... but it didn't.
As a long a meta sidenote: I fought in the Great Naruto Pairing War, and I believe this was a jab from Kishimoto (the author) to the sympathizers of this couple. At the time, there was a big push (Pierrot's fanservice was greatly at fault) that Sakura and Naruto should be together, even when the text explicitly says "Sakura's feelings are not shallow or fickle." Kishimoto needed to burn that bridge down as a viable option. The way he went about it was a choice that didn't help Sakura's character on the surface (she has been always hated) but to me, just as you said, this was Sakura's last straw. She didn't see any other way out.

Tbh it was to protect Naruto, sai already worsened her mental state by saying something like “ it’s all your fault Naruto is chasing after sasuke and trying to get himself killed for her” because of the promise they made when they were kids. And to stop this it was one of the only ways, she couldn’t just say “hey stop going after sasuke lol” cause he wouldn’t except that, yes it was the very wrong approach to the situation but I think it can but justified a bit atleast .
It’s obvious that Naruto has a stronger bond with Sasuke then Sakura does. Naruto would never be willing to let Sasuke go whereas Sakura is willing to right here and now. Couldn’t stand Sakura in this episode but more so for Naruto’ sake.

Heya , binged through your Naruto reaction till now and I really love your way of reacting. You don't talk over important stuff and instead discuss it afterwards. Also your hones way on the emotional stuff like characters dying. It feels real and pure. You don't shy away to shed a tear.
Now I want to comment on this specific episode:
After this I quit watching the series for a long time. Sakura actually pissed me off so much. First i thought, finnally someone (Sai) points the finger at her (and everyone else in Sasukes age) and questions their motivations and why Naruto needs to carry it all alone. I mean even the Pain fight... only Hinata helped him and I am pretty sure if they all worked together they could have had a chance on beating him without Naruto turning into Kyuubi.
And I in that momentr thought FINALLY! And then the first thing Sakura does is to lie to herself and Naruto. She doesn't want to help him to solve the problem. She wants to get rid of the cause of this problem. As if someone wants to help you with homework by throwing it into the trash can.
I was also however a bit annoyed at Naruto. Because Hinata confessed to him and he never answered her once or even talked to her that he needs some time to think and stuff.
Anyhow I still love the series. it helped me through a very hard time as a teen and Naruto's enthusiasm and determination kept me going sometimes. In terms of motivational speeches and diplomacy talk top notch, but in terms of love it is a bit weak now that I look at it as an adult.
for me Shikamaru is naruto best friend! and sasuke is like a brother to naruto :D

feudal lords are basically aristocrats, wealthy individuals with large peaces of land with farms, merchants, maybe industrial businesses etc... during the original naruto series youl see in some episode (mostly fillers) that many low level missions (B&C level) was about protecting or escorting feudal lords. during the Zabuza ark also mentioned that. Feudal lords and other regular non shinobi people pay Konoha and other villages for protection, basically a shinobi private security detail.
Theyre the Presidents of each Nation. Thats why Shikamaru being asked to be the presidents body guard was such an underrated event.

While I don’t think she deserves as much hate as she gets for this, what she did is really shitty. So, people are allowed to be mad at her despite her good intentions. As for what Naruto did before, they were kids but also they were just crushes but so much has happened since then that toying with someone’s feelings knowing that they have developed into more serious feelings is not okay.
I get where she's coming but it's not good to give false hopes to someone though. Its like toying with his feelings if he thought it was true. There could be other ways to try to convince him even though its probably not gonna change his mind because of his belief. This is why people hate her.
Those who says that sakura is doing that for naruto remember that she says i love you to him after knowing that hinata loves him makes it's embarassing.She was humiliating a boy's feelings.

sakura gained most of her haters when she mocked naruto in front of sasuke in the second episode of og naruto ....and people will always hate her for that . she gained her second share of haters when naruto fought so hard to bring tsunadae to treat sasuke but she just ignored naruto when sasuke woke up and this episode is her third share of haters....but the sakura character really upgraded very much in Boruto

This episode confirmed the reason why I don't like the Sakura character. All through Naruto she was a weak character who didn't do anything except pine after Sasuke ... even thou he had never showed any interest in her at all. When she went to betray her village and family by offering to leave with Sasuke & joining Orochimaru - big hate. When Shippuden started I thought wow they actually improved Sakura ... I'll give her another chance ... then she quickly went back to begging Naruto to do everything for her and this manipulation of Naruto was too cruel.

If naruto had accepted sakura there... i am pretty sure sakura could have gone on with her life by his side and naruto would have made her happy (in their way at least) but naruto would have always felt that sakura was not fully happy... naruto would have been miserable the rest of his life that way... All this assuming right after that point they went on with their lives and nothing else happened with the war of course...
I think Sakura DOES love Naruto, just not like THAT. All these years since Sasuke left, Naruto has been the most important person who is actually in her life. Even though romantically she is still attached to Sasuke, she meant a lot of what she said just now. She was probably trying to convince herself that what she was saying was true as well, because it would have been easier for herself to do what needs to be done with Sasuke. Maybe, if she decided to go for Naruto (who she cares deeply for) she would be able to forget about Sasuke (who she loves).
I think the problem here is that Naruto knows her feelings better than she does. He knows that Sakura truly loves Sasuke in a way that she will never love him. At first he thinks it's some kind of joke in bad taste, but then he realizes that Sakura is lying to both him and herself. Naruto decided a long time ago that he and Sakura aren't meant for each other. Naruto wants to bring Sasuke back for his own reasons, but doing so would prevent him and Sakura from ever having a future. He knows this, yet decided to bring Sasuke back regardless.

Most people hate Sakura because of her annoyance & uselessness. But for me, it’s this very moment. I never liked Sakura but neither did I hate her, but this was just too much for me to handle. There’s just NO way of justifying what she did. Toxic & manipulative is the name of the game for Sakura. I feel like most of us that dislike her because of this, may also be because at one point of our lives, we too, might’ve been lied to the same way. Having someone making direct eye contact “expressing” what should be their deepest most sincere emotions & doing so with such disregard & as in peace as she did was just cold, disgusting & inhumane… It’s just tells you all you need to know about someone. I could go as far as say that I hate her more than I hate Danzo. But at least Danzo was a well written character. No matter what “good” Sakura ever did throughout the whole series, she never redeemed herself in my eyes.
Tbh it was to protect Naruto, sai already worsened her mental state by saying something like “ it’s all your fault Naruto is chasing after sasuke and trying to get himself killed for her” because of the promise they made when they were kids. And to stop this it was one of the only ways, she couldn’t just say “hey stop going after sasuke lol” cause he wouldn’t except that, yes it was the very wrong approach to the situation but I think it can but justified a bit atleast
@@Meowrawrmeow11 “To protect Naruto” has to be the cheapest excuse imaginable. Had she truly cared for his sake show would’ve realized this sooner instead of through the eyes of a third. Not only that, but how could Sai of all people be the one to notice?! Not only should Sakura know Naruto best given the long history between Team 7 & being literally best of friends, but the fact that someone that barely understand the concept of emotions like Sai, seems to know him better is just unimaginable to even begin to understand. This basically says the reason why she made the journey was to rid herself of her own guilt. But then again, it is just as Naruto told her, it isn’t about her. Sasuke’s his friend & he’d do anything for him regardless of the promise they made or not & she’s smart enough to figure that out for herself, but apparently not. The whole act was simply manipulative & even everyone around noticed this. Making the trip to intersect him & coming to that “solution” was nonsensical & out of place. Even Naruto, who’s commonly known to be childish, dense & immature completely switched roles with her at that moment… displaying common sense & understanding after having been through one of the biggest revelations in the story. If anything this scene goes off to show how much he’s grown.
