    Girl I make the exact same laundry powder been making it for at least 7 years before all these videos came out with HE washers!! and I never had a problem with machine or my clothes but I also add a big bag of Roma it really just adds that extra cleaning power and those nice suds Roma is a brighter so it’s a must wether it be colors or whites Roma just adds that extra something we need btw the pink zote has the same brighter as the white bar check up on it and you’ll see girl but I still add all 3 in my mix 3 pink 3 white and 6 naptha bars and if you didn’t know zote has Citronella so when you use it to wash your clothes it also helps to repel mosquitoes and bugs at the same time it’s a win-win!!! You can’t go wrong with this mix I use half cup on large or medium loads just to add a lasting smell keeps my clothes fresher longer and for towels you may not believe me but try it just once and I’ll bet you’ll never go back use your regular powder and add in the main wash 3/4 cup Pine-Sol it makes your towels smell unbelievably fresh and it brings back that fluffiness its a crazy good hack if you use bleach you can still add that aswell with the pinsole I couldn’t believe how it brought back some of my older towels to life and smelling amazing fyi doesn’t leave the pinsole smell behind what’s so ever but you will see the difference when you open your dryer to huge fluffy towels that just smell amazingly fresh I really hope you try it and also add that Roma found with the Foca at Walmart ❤️ edit I forgot to mention I do use purez color safe bleach in my batch also with Downy bliss and the romantic scent beads my clothes smell like perfume I also use the Downy bliss dryer sheets ❤️

      Yes this is awesome Angela!! So I actually use Roma in another batch I make for our whites bcuz it's a brightener & I love it. The pinesol is a new one but I'll definitely give it a try in our next towels load. Also I knew the zotes were basically the same formula & contained citronella. The pink just has dye, while the white has no dye giving it a bit more brightening power. Also they smell different to me but both still very refreshing. But let me just say giiiirl... you make that bliss & romantic scent beads combo sound amazing!! I'll look for those on my next shopping trip to give them a try too! Thanks for the tips & sharing what you like to use ❤️😊

    Fels Naptha and the Zote are used for laundry and work to add power on stains plus brighten the wash without stripping color. I use 1 Zote bar, 1 small box of Gain (not the single use tiny just smallest powder box), large Foca Bag detergent like the one here,2 boxes of dollar tree SUN all color powder bleach, 1 box Borax, 1- 2 lb box of baking soda. I grate the zote and mix all together and use 1- 2 tbsp for sm and med load and 3-4 table spoons for large load. I like to wash in warm water and hot for whites and rinse in cold so never have any issues using in my old school washer or any residue on clothing. Lasts at least 6 months and clothing is very clean.. ( I suggest spot treating stains ahead of washing by using a small amount of the mix with water leave on for 5 minutes then wash) Thanks for your video good job.

      @ballardsbydesign  Před rokem +1

      Hi Nancy! I think I posted this video a month or 2 ago. But I actually did the making of this video maybe even a month prior to that. So in the last 2-3 months of making up this batch of detergent, I've done laundry every week 3 sometimes 4 loads per week & it doesn't look like I've used it at all. The tote it's in still looks like I just made up the batch. It definitely lasts a long time & I know it'll last us a year or more. I've done it before & it took 4ever to use all of it. So with your family of 4 & doing several loads of laundry per week this recipe should last at least year. I use 1/3 for larger loads & 1/4 cup for towels & small-medium loads.

Ok as far as how much to use in your laundry, 2 tbsps work for small loads. I have found that for us 1/4 cup or 1/2 cup (for extra large loads) works best. Our clothes are clean & smell fresh. Let me know how it works out for you! 😊

      @ballardsbydesign  Před 2 lety

      Hi Anna! I mentioned the debate on if it's good to make & use diy laundry detergent in this video. For my family this has not been an issue. We have an HE washer & homemade detergent works for us. I've researched the products I use & suggest others to do the same. Yes, I use 2 laundry boosters. Borax neutralizes odors & helps remove stains, the super washing soda improves performance of detergent and softens water which keeps your clothes in good condition. I use detergents because they are great cleansing agents & help reduce soap scum from building in my washer. They also breakdown & lift, dirt & oils from your clothes. The ones I choose to use are very cost effective, biodegradable & phosphate free. The soaps of course are for stain fighting, cleaning & smell. Baking soda not only breaks down soap scum but is great for HE washers bcuz it gently cleanses them as well. Sent boosters are strictly for extra smell & are my preference. OXIclean is another level of dirt fighting stain remover. The combination of what I use make for a great detergent. It works just as well, if not better than name brands, our clothes come out wonderfully clean, smelling fresh, it costs a fraction to make & last way longer than the name brands. I know that was long but hopefully it helps you understand! Thank you for watching 😊

      @@annacribbs4142 Hey Anna you can use a variation of whatever you like. It doesn't have to be what I used. At the end of this video you can click on another video where I show a recipe that I like to use for my whites clothes. It doesn't contain Foca. Also Foca has never left a blue tint or stain on any of our clothes. Everyone's experience is different. That's why you should only use what you're comfortable with. I have a Maytag extra large capacity HE washer. It cost us a pretty penny for the set. Trust me we don't want to buy another washer any time soon. Again WE haven't had any issues. If you don't want to use soap you can eliminate it. If you don't want to use borax you can eliminate that too. If you want to use tide instead of a value brand detergent, you can do that.
