West Somerset Railway Winter Lights, November 2021

The West Somerset Railway ran the highly successful Winter Lights train which ran from Bishops Lydeard to Crowcombe Heathfield and back. With 7828 Odney Manor at the helm, the train was decorated with a strew of decorative Christmas lights bringing a wonderful colorful sight for both the passengers and oberservers. Filmed at Bishops Lydeard, Churchlands, Crowcombe Cutting and Crowcombe Heathfield station.

I wonder if all that steam at the start is really necessary. It obscures the view of the train for quite some way.

Its condensed water it needs to come out of the cylinders becuse water dosent compress and it could crack the the cylinders

I always think that the presence of a diesel locomotive on a mainline steam train is a spoiler. I really don't get why they have put one on a steam train on a preserved line.
