My only real frustration with LAN members is the incredibly fake & forced "I received this set free from LAN but all opinions expressed are my own" that they all have to say in one for or another.

I’ve seen two videos of CZcamsrs/influencers who felt forced to make a giant MeaCulpa video because they accidentally leaked a new product because it showed up somewhere in their videos, in once case just even 0.3 seconds. And Lego retaliated immediately by putting them on probation for several months.
aaahhh . . . idiocracy is a crazy movie, and it should be watched by everyone who concerns themselves with . . . .the fate of humanity. i have not thought of what lego marketing is doing, and did not know about LAN. i think most people think it’s great to get free sets ahead of the release date. and it is great, if you stop thinking about it at the end of reading my last sentence. for me, it’s not a deal-breaker, but something worth knowing about. without lego, we would not have solbrick, soltown, or even old soltown. it’s the bumpy brick-shaped pill we have to swallow to consume our precious content!!!
I think you need to check what a corporation is. Lego is a privately held company, it does not have public stock and so there are no shareholders. As for who pays for LAN, who do you expect pays for it? We, the consumer, pays for it just like we, the consumer, would pay for any marketing scheme a company has. As for "influencers", what makes you think they should be trained journalists? A CZcams Influencer is effectively just a random person off the street. If you want to place trust in such an Influencer, that's your problem. You are a CZcams Influencer, are you a trained journalist?

Why are Lego sets so expensive? Because they are constantly giving away free sets to thousands of LAN members. They have to make up those costs by raising the prices for us suckers who actually buy the sets ourselves.
Interesting take on it, but I don't feel like that's the biggest problem here. Reviewers(influencers) are getting product for review early and sometimes some information about upcoming products, so it's more like they are reporting about new products hitting the shelves rather than reviewing them, so they want to be there. The problem is that it's similar to apple-brand-oriented channels - you don't have competing products showcased there, otherwise apple will stop sending the product before launch to that specific channel. Even if the review for one product is critical, the channel is still pumping out advertisement for the single company, so it's a win for that company anyway.
Any credible "journalist" would not accept free products for review. This is standard practice so they maintain their independence and objectivity. Accepting free products can create a conflict of interest or bias in their reporting, as they may feel obligated to provide positive coverage in return for the gift. This compromises the credibility and integrity of their work, as their primary allegiance should be to their audience and the truth. It's clearly not the priority of LAN members, and that's something that has bothered me more and more of late.
One of the best videos you've ever made. 100% agree with everything you said. That's why Jangbricks is truly the only uninfluenced and independent reviewer, he buys the sets himself. All these CZcams duschbags that get sets early are 'bought people ' it's essentially bribery. They can't critique, they are just fans who got big, they got a big audience and Lego are exploiting them. That said I'm obviously jealous, but then I wouldn't want to become a slave to the release schedule and not have any time to do what I actually want to do. Great video dude
