Excellent use of strategems at the start. 👍
You've been doing your part Helldiver?
Bringing in a nice cup of Liber-tea for those thirsty bugs running through the desert
3:27 BILE TITAN!
An eagle never misses!
That they made this movie in 1997.. simply amazing with the tech.
its not safe for MODERN AUDIENCE
Because they're pussified
Its what you get when a talented team makes the best of the tech and tricks available. instead of diversity hires with enough money to make 30 starshiptrooper movies.
@@Boxy005not safe my arse. Why, because too many Whites?

This was essentially a B-movie with an A-movie CGI budget. I told my son, who is 23 now, that the movie was made in 1997. He was shocked since he thought for sure it couldn’t have been made before 2010 due to the CGI quality.
I agree. Still an a classic. Medic!
Yes, truly exceptional effects and great CGI.
5:30 "I've been there and blew it."
Learned from experience and made an unpleasant self discovery and didn't ignore it, but followed through on it's logical conclusion at the expense of ego.
Including myself, most of us could learn a thing or two from that scene.
always liked Ace
absolutely, I'm just here to fight. I don't want to put others in danger from my decisions. Ace was a true one.
True, but eventually Ace is getting promoted, whether he wants it or not. He isn’t going to be a career private.
Ace is such a solid dude. Even though he took a step back for a while, I'm pretty sure he ended up high ranking in deep ST lore.
2:44 I love the lined explosions in this scene, cause they make absolutely no sense at all but look awesome, pure soul
@@TomaszWawruszkonot in perfectly timed .5s apart lines like that…
It’s because there’s a huge network of tunnels.
This film is so well made.
"An Eagle never misses!"
I remember when Lost Planet 2 came out, there was a big boss that had a weak point on its back. I remembered this scene from when I watched it with my dad when I was young and basically recreated the scene by jumping onto it and doing this repeatedly. Great memories.
The vfx still hold up today. Almost more convincing than some of the stuff we get currently
The special effects are VERY GOOD, even now they hold up pretty well. I remember watching this when it was released and being amazed but i was pretty sure by now it would look fake. Im impressed.
tell that to the creator, not this lamprey!
😅

@@10pointmedia67Dude, chill.
😮
04:17 So proud of his soldier.
This is the only time in the movie where they use air support.
I loved this movie a lot and it was mostly because of dizzy, I was so in love with her ❤️
And she still looks great
4:50 That STILL only counts as one!!
Crazy that not only did ILM (the VFX company that did the CGI) manage to create this all the way back in 1997, they did it while also handling Jurassic Park: The Lost World which released the same year. Not only did they manage such convincing VFX, they did it TWICE simultaneously.
Helldivers 2 looking real realistic🥶🥶🥶🥶
Fabulous Score!!!!!!!! From the Man Who Wrote the Emmy Award Music To “Lonesome Dove” and “Red October”!!!!!!!
Still brings chills
Quite corny they could have just nuked them from orbit it's the only way to be sure lol
@@onejohn2.26 indeed,if the arachnid's armor were so tough to break through, could have just keep nuking them instead of sending infantry to grave.
underated movie! it's a fun ride!
it was amazing but I loved the Cartoon and never saw the movies until I was in my 20's (though probably good with how bloody they were) and I still love that line:"Rico I need a Corporal.....you're it until your dead or I find somebody better" think they also said that in the cartoon too but can't remember .....not to mention it's amazing how much SMARTER they got with fighting the bugs after one battle they bombed the area with the horde before sending in the troops and no one tried to be a solo badass (well Rico kind of) and Rico did the smart thing with the tank right away he made a hole and chucked a grenade inside
That hand-held rocket launcher had a 100 times the power of the plane-dropped bombs
That’s cause that was a mini Nuke they fired into the tunnel.
They made the bug so realistic ❤❤❤❤
1997 movie with 2023 fx, even better.
I remembered watching this in my childhood 🥰
Twas a great documentary for sure!
@@HeavilyCensoredKitty thats for sure,, I really liked and enjoyed watching movies like Mimick insect, Dream Catcher and other movies with aliens or monsters..
@@chonacastilla8610 would you like to know more?
@@HeavilyCensoredKitty yes please
Good use of Eagles at the start :)
For the record, Starship Troopers was nominated for Best Visual Effects but lost to titanic
Can't believe that the main character has only done this movies all of his life
"Locate a bug hole , Nuke it !"
how does this still look so amazing?
Look at this scene, and you’ll know why STARSHIP TROOPERS received an Academy Award nomination for the visual effects by Phil Tippett, Scott Anderson, and John Richardson.
Nomination? What beat this?
@@engasal TITANIC. A movie about a boy and a girl who took a great big ship in 1912.
The bugs were so tough in this movie, 3 firing at 1 bug and it took forever to go down 😭
That's it, I have to watch these again.
awesome production
That bug picked the wrong fireteam to mess with
The bugs are charred but the ground is pristine : D
the sand on Planet P is something else
5:18 my favorite line.
Love this film..
Starshiptroopers la mejor película 🎥🎥
im in 2023, this moment still a golds.👍👍
Back when action movies were actually good. Now, we have Disney....
My children will watch this movie. God willing.
Love how they got a real Morita rifle gun that fires
Good movie
THEYRE MOVING BACK O_O!
Wish I can take out Bile Titans like that!! FOR FREEDOM!!
Film starship Troopers sangat bagus dan adegannya menegangkan.
Luar biasa alur ceritanya kawanku 05:49
Sequels not as good but this is a solid movie.
Dicen que está película tiene una de las mejores. " Batallas en el espacio " de todas las que se han hecho.
We got helldivers2!
When the nuke went off in the cave it sounded like a bunch of seismic charges going off lol
i was 11 when i first saw this in 97 liked the action but totally did not understand how hilarious it actually is
There’s never a can of Raid when you need one.
First movie was good all the rest weren't so good
How nice
Rewatching after buying starshiptroopers extermination
EAGLE-1 DELIVERING PAYLOAD.

And now we all know why Father Gabriel is so messed up.
Deep-fried arachnids, coming up!😅
True classic, battle hardened brotherhood and classic hero's saga who overcome hardships and finally became a legend.
When Darkseid promotes you, you accept. A wise decision by Rico.

Alright, show of hands.... who here wishes they could do what Rico did to that Tanker... to the Chargers and Bile Titans in Helldivers? _raises hand_
4:33
_PROBLEM SOLVER ACQUIRED!_
I bet they could save a fortune on ammo if they put sights on those rifles.
They need some APCs and Tanks or something
Agreed
Nice of the bugs to appear and then stand still to be shot.
I like how its common knowledge on how to effectively kill an arachnid by shooting directly into its central stem, but no matter what the troopers fire wildly about the creature hitting every where except its weak spot. Literally 300 rounds dumped into one arachnid.
To paraphrase TheChieftain... when you're able to take the first shot, you are usually calm, collected, and able to adjust off your first shot. When a bug swings at you, you're having a significant emotional event, so your counter attack is going to be rushed, and hurried, and accuracy is going out the window.
Helldivers 2 graphics look good
❤❤❤❤❤😢😢😢😢
That still counts as one.
that ridiculous scope on those rifles. are they trying to shoot something on another planet?
Se as naves podia fazer todos estes estragos pra que mandar soldados.😁😁👍👍
You think they get tanks artillery, air support at least mortars.
And you’d think that they would have Ray guns and laser cannons
i know gnnh its starship trooper LET ME GO
SO, NO bugs was harm during to making of this movie ... RIGHT ?
😁
Tanker! 3:26
I still think that the Terran Federation in this movie is one of the stupidest militaries in all of science fiction.
And I enjoy this movie. I'm just saying that compared to their counterparts in the Heinlein book, they are ridiculous.
Probably because the guy who made this film really hate martial state and try to show how its flawed
First of all. It is different from the book, I know! But...Only infantry? No mechanized troops? They really think air supremacy is enough? I mean: bugs live undeground, don't they?
Yeah, yeah, they didn't have to budget I suppose...
But come on! At least transportations...You cannot expect me to belive that soldiers could march under the sun, fully equipped like that and not suffering extreme exaustion at some point.
Second. 3:44 how that woman didn't die for shock after THIS! it's beyond my comprehension. Are those soldier all on some kind of futuristic medication that nullify pain? Nope! Forget the question: she clearly screamed in pain...Yep! 3:46 right here! She did. So: how the human body works in this movie? But what do I know? I am not a doctor.
Third. 4:00 No please explain me! We just saw that they had rocket launchers and his best strategy was to jump on the damn thing (shell looks pretty slippery by the way, what is under this piravate's booths, glue and nails?), doing a rodeo number, open a breach in the shell and throw a granade inside.
I suppose they gave just one rocket to the entire unit...
But, why did he blow up the abdomen? WHY?! They did a litteral commercial to say "go for the head" and "even if you destroy part of the body, they are still lethal". After he managed somehow to stay on top of that beetle thing, he attacked the lower body? And somehow, misteriously, that bug that looks way tougher than ordinary aracnid, stopped moving. Wooooohoooo! No! That doesn't make any sense to me sorry.
Hollywood...
???? This movie is a parody of the book and its at times, fascist tones
@@archer1088 If you say so 🤔...
@@ark1567 I mean his beetle idea was solid especially since the body was likely where the fire concentration was created and expelled through the head so even if It was still alive it would be harmless especially since it just had its organs violated and regarding its shell I doubt it would be slippery if anything it would he a bit rough with small ridges so that part was fine
Yes that beetle was tougher than a normal arachnid but you need to remember things or mixtures that create fire are often explosive so what do you think happens when you blow up That mixture? You can't do the same to an normal arachnid now can you
Also regarding the rpg I don't think anyone was near where he could get an rpg from so he basically was moving on his feet and don't forget the other soldiers were busy trying to take cover or avoid getting turned into a human rotisserie even then if he wanted an rpg he would have to chase somone down and risk being cooked so I woudnt criticize this seen too hard as there was some logic in it....well at least from this clip
Why do all the planets have breathable atmospheres?
I was just a young boy when for the 1st time I saw a mans head penetrated by a giant insect and his brains being sucked out.
bed bugs are bigger these days 😂
Sound weopon in boss bro
Half life 2 antlions definetly took some inspiration from here
Yeah well Halo completely ripped off the whole concept of this too lol
Why do they go 1 on 1 with these elephant size bugs? They can fly through space yet they overlook making ground fighting vehicles?
Not to mention lack of ray guns death rays etc
