The ape sticks on the facade tied in with the room and uplighting really well since the pillars had that vertical soft ambient light. Sick look! Elegant.

I feel ya on the requests from the younger crowd, and no vendor meal? I had the same issue this past weekend. Had my daughter running the photo booth and the hotel never served us even though the bride and groom ordered us plates. That's why I like eating before I get to the gig for that very reason. My Favorite spot to eat at the end of a Gig "In N' Out", Best Burgers in Cali .... Great Gig Log .... Peace

Great gig log, thanks for posting. I loved the mix of music! Besides the tilted speakers that others have mentioned, there are two other things that could be improved... 1) Get a cover for your table. There were guests' tables situated 'behind' yours so they could see everything. It would also look better to those making requests. 2) Better DMX programming. I noticed that the lights were quite stagnant / boring and didn't really follow the music. You have KILLER movers, why not use them? Other than that it's all good my friend. Keep it up!

Very Nice setup, I love the Ape Sticks (my next purchase) my only question is I see many DJs putting the speakers so close together. Why do you have them like that. I have always set them at the corners of the dancefloor or at 8' feet apart (outside of the facade)

I will say Reo Diner in Woodbridge or Galaxy in Rahway. Old stops we used to hit when coming back from NYC hangouts. BTW your setup and your mixing was straight gangsta son. I don't know for sure but I think this was or is my favorite Gig Log so far. You are straight nasty with yours. Wish the Apesticks were affordable I would get them. They are so fresh.

For requests i leave a clip board and pen and write "REQUESTS IF I HAVE IT I WILL TRY TO PLAY IT"and that way i dont talk to them they can write their request on the clip board and walk away and i take a quick glance and try to play their song if not oh well ! But yeah that is annoying when they trying to convince you on a request.

Me too but this is a way to keep them off your back, just point at the clip board and ignore them unless it's the person who contracted you, you know some people wont go away unless they feel you know what they are requesting so just an option for less distractions 😀

Barr you did your thing. Kill all those requests you know what you are doing. If you can get to them then get to them. I’m proud of you not ripping the music just because they want to hear an artist that is not available. Also get yourself some gloves!!!! Remember kids attn span will be max 2 mins just a tip. You gotta be in and out of that song. Over all great job.

I'm not sure if it's because of the edits but I'm amazed that the teens stayed on the Dance floor even if most of it music in the beginning was bachata and merengue. By the time you got to the stuff that they would like they even had even more energy to party. What was your secrets to keeping them on the Dance floor? BTW love your v blog I've been a fan for almost a year now. In fact it was one of your how to videos. That helped me to up grade my Mac book pro and add a second internal hard drive inside of it. Keep up the good work.
Kevin Woodley it’s because the dancing portion was small. They dance all night because there was only 1.5-2hours worth of dancing. Went buy supper quick.
Fave diner in US? Miller’s Ale House or Applebee’s. Sweet 16s are so different out there. No such thing as sweet 15 / 16 here. Only a house party (we call an “empty”) with some friends and bottles upon bottle of tonic wine or cider. Lol. Birthday parties are not so common for teenagers in the UK.

Bayardo A Rugama I had the SRM650’s. I absolutely loved the sound of these speakers ut mackie made them with a deep wedge for use as a band floor monitor. So when you put them on a tripod, they had this awful lean and it bugged me so bad! I called Mackie and they said they told me to put gaff tape on my tripod to fix that but that didnt help and what kind of R&D is that? I got rid of them and went with EV and never looked back. You would think speaker companies would try these things before mass production. I would ask my dj friends about the lean and they would say the same thing. That it would bother the crap out of them too. :(
