I just got two of these 2.0 XL APE sticks and also have them on my Rockville XL Booth. They've gigged once and I was super happy with them. These are great along with my 12 Maxi 2.0s. I usually do the music mode on some chorus of the songs. Last gig the second I turned them all on one of the bridesmaids shouted "Oh it's SO pretty!". That was cool! I also have two Chauvet Wash FX2s on totems that point up to the ceiling. The rifle case is brilliant! I'll have to pack my Mossberg 20 gauge shotgun with the APE sticks. I can mount one of the sticks to the shotgun! I could use the shotgun as part of the grand entrance, or to announce dinner! Bahahahaha!

I’m glad you mentioned that at the end of your video about big light shows and DMX, about a year ago I sold off all my DMX lights I only use ape labs and Jmaz movers with an RF Remote, let’s set up time no DMX programming and I have no regrets! Honestly I’ve had repeat clients that I’ve done with DMX lights and with my new light system and I get lots of positive From both the venue and my clients

I sent it back. That's a good idea, I should follow up on it. Ultimately, I didn't like that it depended heavily on the app (mute, EQ..) and it couldn't handle the volume I needed. So I got the Touchmix 8 and I love that mixer.
Great review! I didn’t know about the « double click » to start rainbow mode.
« Keeping it simple » is nice but there’s a very fine line between keeping it simple and being plain lazy… if you charge too money for your services, your clients are probably expecting a little more than just washes.
I always bring at least a couple moving heads for an extra splash and the ability to spotlight cake, first dance, speeches etc.
Agree. I don’t have a separate lighting package, so these nail it. I feel like less is more for the wedding dance floor. I don’t want to blind them with lights, just HOT BANGERS lol
double click does a lot more than just start rainbow mode, it gets you to the end of the line of effects.
incredibly useful if you, for instance, don't want rainbow mode, but don't want to cycle through the other 13+ modes to get to the end ones.

Yeah, extra. I have a bunch of them so didn’t need to buy them. Some places are selling it as a bundle
With the old ones and the new ones, can you tell the different like ‘quality’ if you run them all together?
The new XLs are bigger, but the build feels the same between the 2. I've dropped them on the dance floor and they are good to go
How do you mount yours to your Rcf poles soo high. Mike slide down and touch the sub cab, when I stuck them on with the standard magnet
I used the cable clip to rest the bottom of the light on. Keeps it up!
How does the dmx connection work? Can you connect it to a light console? Do you need an adapter?
You can do DMX, you need to get the Ape Lab Connect
Waiting on mine to come in! Do you have any color match issues with your maxi 1.0? (Same color when you scroll through with the remote)
Good point- there are colors on the sticks that the 1.0's don't have. I normally don't match them up though. Sticks stay off till the dance starts

Hey Aaron, I just talked to Ape Labs. If you have a WAPP/CONNECT you can update all the lights to the same firmware & then they will all coincide with each other. Have a great day!

I think so. I have 5 of them. If you watch some of my more recent gig logs, I’m using them

One more question...do you think just 1 magnet would hold if I mounted it on the side of an Evolve 50? It's too long to use both magnets(I think)
It comes with a magnet plate. Maybe stick that to the evolve to help it stick better.

Do these stick to aluminium or just steel?
Just meta/steel. They won't stick to the EV 50 poles. But they do come with plates that you can attach to things so they stick
Ok but how long do the batteries last? Or do u connect em to power?
I’ve only run them during the dance (2-3 hours) and I can use them for 2 shows. They say you get up to 8 hours

You're not "on a list" for buying a gun case. the road case Ape sells also comes with a built in charger, so we tend to use those.
granted, we're a dealer, so we have a lot more of these.

I think they made a error with making the magnets none ajustable and the price is ridiculos but they look better built than the old ones pity they so f dear for what they are ...v overpriced light sabres I agree music mode is a big plus point though ...personally would rather the new chauvet gig bar move. Far more bang for your buck
The magnets can move around on the top of it, but not like the other sticks where it could go up and down it. I prefer a wash look at weddings, that's why I sold my Gig Bar
@@AaronStrawn you can actually have that look with gig bar ils they have now brought out a wireless contoller, They listened to what we asked for the spotlights can also be controlled it aint just bling bling anymore..i was its biggest critic but now im converted
