Thanks for the video! Today I installed a pair of the 12" X 12" on my 400 EC that I picked up from Amazon, awesome product, and easy install.

Another attachment method without have to drill holes in the hatch framing (ouch deck) might be to use industrial strength velcro strips glued to both surfaces.
Come on, it's always fun to drill holes in the #boat ;-) That said, I'd be careful with the Velcro approach. The weak link would be the adhesive. Perhaps if one used a heavy duty glue, such as Gorilla Glue??
@@BoatingWithBoogaboo Industrial Strength Velcro has been used on my soft sided generator cover for over 20 YEARS so it should more then work for these little hatch shades.
Wen drilling over head there is trick we use in construction . cut the bottom out of a water bottle use the bottom as a cup to ketch the shavings drill a hole throw the bottle bottom. wen you press it to the service it will sill

As I mentioned, we had the same thing on our last #boat (czcams.com/play/PLKhjT5kr2l2FaABQJSn3VVqd6SN930ICt.html) and loved the feature. It's a welcome relief from the hot sun on the current #Boogaboo :-)

You are correct. Super easy to install! Especially if you do it without a camera in hand ;-)
I can’t tell from watching this video on my iPhone when you did this installation. Have you been satisfied with the product? I’d like to install on my boat this winter. Also considering Seadek, just got my template kit. Have you ever considered Seadek or similar product?
I installed these last summer (2017) and remain very happy with them! One of the best upgrades we've done, as we like it dark when sleeping and they work as advertised. Plus, the option of having it half screen and half sun blocking it great fro when we are away from shore-power and air conditioning ;-)
As for FakeTeak, I'm not a fan of the look. Not saying it's a bad product, just not my style. We have a friend who did his swim platform in it (or a similar product) and likes it so much that he is going to be doing his entire cockpit next season. If I remember, I just might get some video of his Sea Ray when the work has been done . . .

I also went to the website for pricing could not find anything I really like the concept I have screens for my port hatches and then ordered more screen brackets for the hatches and installed fabric instead of the screen but I'm sick of swapping back and forth every single day
Hi Adam. As I mentioned to RV nomadic, the Oceanair site is the manufacturer's site. As they ship world-wide, you will have to take a look at online marine supplier sites - West Marine, for example - to get pricing for your area and sizes. You should also be able to order them through your local marine supplier/marina, as that's what I did for our last #boat.

Can I ask you an unbiased question? Do these really cut down on the heat coming in? My 355 AC’s can’t keep up in the summer.
No, they don't stop heat from coming in, only insulation can do that. What they do provide is a tremendous reduction of direct sunlight entering the cabin - and that in turn helps reduce the heating up of the cabin. Keep in mind that our #boats have zero insulation, with the only thing between our air conditioned cabins and the extreme heat of summer outside is about 1/2" (or less) of fibreglass.
On Boogaboo IV, we had two A/C units - a 12,000 BTU servicing the two cabins and both heads, as well as an 18,000 BTU unit for the main cabin & galley. Yet, on the extreme hot and sunny days, I could always feel the air up high inside being quite warm, even after running both units at full bore all day. To put it in perspective, that total output of 30,000 BTU's is the equivalent of a 2-1/2 ton residential central air conditioning unit, which would easily service a house of 2,000 - 2,500 sq. ft. (said the 30 year general contractor).
Again, it comes down to the lack of insulation on our style of boats, but you're asking if I feel that the SkyScreen Hatch Covers help and I would say, without hesitation, that yes, they are more than merely beneficial, they are a blessing :-) Ironically, I was thinking about these very units earlier this evening and would have to say that out of all of the upgrades we've done to the current Boogaboo, it has to be in the top #One or Two best! Highly recommend.

Have you ever replaced porthole screens? The ones on our 370'are toast. Maybe a good video,suggestion!

Yes, I had to replace the porthole screens on #Boogaboo IV, a few years back. One can contact a company called Pompanette (pompanettellc.com/) who manufactures pop-in replacement screens. As I will have to do the same thing in one of our own, current portholes, I just might do a video on that.
Just to let you in on a little secret, I've been capturing videos on a number of small repairs that I continue to do aboard the new Booogaboo, so that I have some fresh content for the off season :-)
I'm looking forward to watching this video. I have the new screens, I just can't make them stay in place.
Great video. I bought these for my Sea Ray as well. You mentioned #6 screws, but what length did you use?
I don't recall, but I can say that they were enough to hold the units in place, but not too long as to protrude through the deck ;-)

Yes, it was the beige, which worked perfectly with out boat's interior.

Hey Paul, did you have to modify the curtain track to mount the starboard 12x12 hatch unit?
No modifications at all, only drilling the mounting holes as shown. Easy Peezy :-)
@@BoatingWithBoogaboo My '96 330DA has a flat vinyl covered 2" wide peice that runs under the metal track to hold the curtain track up, that keeps the OceanAir from fitting snugly up against the ceiling. Was just wondering if you ran into that, doesn't sound like it. I know I could contact the manufacture but saw them first on your channel so thought I would ask:) I'm planning on cutting back the vinyl slightly and using my multimaster to cut out 3/4" strip so I can get that screen all the way up flat. Thanks again for the great videos, we love watching them as soon as they are posted!

Looks great!!!! Did they have measurements on file or did you have to measure and send in?
I measured the hatches and sent them the info to confirm what they had. As mentioned in the video, they have most of the popular hatch sizes for Bomar, Taylor, etc., available.
Hi Seanmcc45, Just quote your standard hatch size with your local dealer or marina. Alternatively, standard sizes are available online at Amazon or through online retailers such as West Marine. If you have a non-standard size, you'll need to measure up the aperture and the dealer can help you to order. If you have any trouble, just contact us at salesenquiries@oceanair.co.uk and we can point you in the right direction.
So are there actual model numbers for these units? Have the same exact boat and would like to order these.
You should contact either Oceanair for your local distributor/marine supplier/marina, or online seller (West Marine, for example) to confirm sizes. If I recall correctly, our two smaller hatches were 12" x 12" & the forward one was 19-3/4" x 19-3/4" on our '98 Sundancer.

Pricey, $325 for my 20x20 hatch opening or 22 x 22 over all. Are they good quality and going stand up to some kid hanging out the hatch or climbing out the hatch?
Not sure how they might stand up to kids climbing through the hatch, but I found the quality very good, As mentioned, we had one on Boogaboo IV for six years with no issues.
Bought one, sfss-1039 shipped to my door for 248.95 from Ahoycaptain. Had it within the week. I called and emailed Oceanair on getting the correct one. They were a little slow on response but once actually talked to somebody on the phone, they were great. (got hung up on two times that day, emails were dragging out for over a week because of slow response times) Should have had this in the beginning of the season, it is alsome. Hatch is now usable. No more taking out the screen ring to open the hatch and then trying to up the screen back into place. Then revers for closing the hatch and putting the cloth on top of the hatch to block out some light so My wife and I could sleep. Awesome
