I have a 94' 5170 belarus and watching you work on your tractors have shown me more than any technical manual or other videos on youtube! keep up the good work and keep those videos coming ! much respect from a Canadian. MTZ is a very limited brand here so no one will touch these tractors in my area
Thanks for the positive feedback. It's a good tractor. And quite reliable if you keep it running and in good order (good bearings, good oils etc). If you learn how to fix them you can probably buy them for good money in CA and keep having enough spares :)

I watched your video on the front axle repair i feel like mine might have the same issue going on did you hear a grinding or have slipping when you were spinning in the fields before you cracked that inspection plate open ?
@@copcarcop If your front axle starts to slip then tighten the center block between the two driveshafts. The end with a big nut, I don't remember if it was on the front or the back. Just tighten the nut as hard as you can then it will not slip. And open up the covers to see the play in the gears. Quite easy job to open up the covers and if you repair it before it blows.. Then it's a big bonus. I had no early warnings, it just went bang. But because the big tires the gear ratio between the tires is not right and I use the front axle only when needed and on slippery stuff.
@@hrz4x4 somebody mentioned to use gear oil were the gears meet at the 45 degree angle at the top instead of bearing grease which I read in a manual somewhere is correct

Not another Belarus with a missing rear wheel .You tube is full of Belarus tractors careering off in to the scenery because a rear wheel has fallen off yet again.its the reason I'm scared of purchasing one that and the brake's have a bit of a reputation so I have read .Not only that they seem little light and narrow for even moderate hill work as the high centre of gravity .and those front axle's look very flimsy for loader work and a month of loading heavy muck in to a spreader probably would mean a new clutch.iv seen a new old stock 952 very cheap locally I'm tempted .But these factors put me off as I would like to put a loader on it but would I be making a rod for my own back.,?What's your opinion on the newer stuff .is 952.is it better but looks the same .would I be wise to purchase ? Iv got a 50 acre horse establishment and do 150 hours a year work mainly hauling bales of hay/ basic cultivations /and spring muck spreading with a 15 foot rotary barrel spreader .currently got a new Holland t4 75 that has been nothing but trouble that I would PX.
The rear wheels are felling off due to lack of maintenance. Bearing was worn out on this one and that's why it broke down. Also people tend to use bigger wheels and use them harder - so they break - sometimes the metal rear axle shafts break. With normal wheels it's quite strong and lasting. The older the better I would say. Metal was better at the old times.. If you want to have a strong axle then the one with 952 - also 820 has one. It's called a "straight" axle and it's from a 130hp belarus model so it is very strong and can take all the loader work. The older axle also work well but there are some tricks to keep it going - common sense with loader and regular maintenance. No issues if it is maintained properly. 820 and 925 is basically the same tractor. Only difference may be that you have a) different font axle b) with or without turbo (basically the same engine with D243 or 245 block) and c) 5 speed gearbox with syncros OR 9 speed without syncros. Clutch works fine and you can have a better clutch from LUK if I remember correctly. The original stuff works also quite well. I have friends who have ~600 acres and maybe 2500-3000 bales a year all made and transported with Belarus tractors. No problems, key issue is proper maintenance and it's a simple tractor, you can do everything by yourself, if needed.

Usually we repair it right on the scene. Obviusly you need to have all the parts on hand and than it's not big of a deal. It takes around 2 hours and then ready to roll. If the inner bearing went wrong as well and broke... well, that's sucks big time

Sad- you broke whole iron cast housing.. I fight with my 48y tractor too with a gas into cooling system and bad idling- So i change new head, new camshaft, and problem was a fuel pump - repair shop can;t handle to repair it , so they gave me finnally another pump - after repair too- and now it work great

About 3-4 kgm/cm2. It's that all right? And another cuestion: Did you have or know some video about brakes maintenance? I dissasembly the brakes of my tractor and... Well... Not dry, dirty, wasted... I'm looking for information to solve a few problems. Thanks.
I have had the same effect on oil pressure after housing replacement. Higher pressure is better, if it's not too high. 3-4 with cold engine is very good. No need to worry. Brakes, I should also overhaul those on my tractor(s).. Maybe one day, right now the brakes are not very good.

@@hrz4x4 It looked realy nasty. I remember going down the rode with my MTZ 562 on top gear and hiting one rock that was sticking from the ground. Whole tractor jumped in the air. Thanks to god nothing got broken. It could have been the same result if not worse. I was careless back then. Now I am much more careful. That was a risky idea with transporting the tractor. I am glad it worked. I asume you had to replace Hose pipe of the half-axle.

@@josa9415 It's much better steering. 10 times better. Air has never been an issue, if hydraulic system is not leaking then it's fine. Approx 300-500€ I would say. depends what kind of setup you will make and if you buy all new parts etc.
У знакомого,полуось отламывало,вместе с колесом отвалилась.а подшипники давит если телегу-полуприцеп таскаешь.подшипники слабые в чулках а мы хотим чтобы трактор как камаз таскал груза.
Я просто хотел себе широкие колеса поставить все меня отговаривают типо нагрузка на оси возрастает из за увеличения площади пятна контакта и то что они тяжелее, и из за этого начинает все разбивать, так то я не знаю правда это или нет, ну смотри сам,982 ходит же на них.

Хочу Вам дать совет.Неслушайте диванных советчиков, они от безделия несут всякую хрень.большие калёса в данном случие непричём,просто подшипнику пришло время,вечьного нечево нет.У меня стоит резина 16.9 R 38.на дисках весят груза 180 кг. На каждом колисе.в добавок в колесо залита незамерзающая житкость, 350 литров входит в колесо.в суме 530 кг.плюс само колесо,веса я его незнаю.в таком виде эксплуатирую много лет,работаю практически каждый день,бывает за месяц зжигаю тонну солярки ,и пока неразу таково небыло.вес колеса ,нагрузку на полуось и подшипник практически недаёт, Советую и Вам залить какоето количество жидкости ,для лучьшего сцепления.Особенно зимой.Удачи Вам!

Thankfully only the hub and bearings needed replacement. Everything else survived more or less.

Я тоже так ездил, только с пробитым задним,в ковш земли или камни,кирпичи и вперёд,хорошо блокировка была с МТЗ 50

всему виной развался и заклинул подшипник и раздавило чулок пришол срок и не видержал нагрузки
На ранних МТЗ ломало чулки. На более поздних чулки вроде как усиленные
