Frank is being disingenuous here. When he made the Chisora fight for some inexplicable reason, he used the BoxRec rankings instead of the WBC rankings. In the WBC rankings, Chisora was down at number 14, and there were many higher ranked available fighters. When he refers to how he selected Chisora now, he says that Chisora was the highest ranked available opponent in the WBC rankings. These are disingenuous and deliberate lies.
I'm pretty sure Bakolie and Sanchez said they would fight Fury at the time. Both ranked above Chisora. The only thing you can say is that they weren't as big names as Chisora, which I think Frank has said before. But Frank should at least stick with that angle, don't try and fob us off making out Chisora was the highest ranked.

The receipts are there on the Internet and on CZcams, but Frank Warren just lies and lies.

For about the 20th time on this station Frank has brought up Joshua not having a trainer for why that fight with Fury fell apart. Just once it would be nice if he was confronted with the fact that SugarHill wasn't training Fury either during Usyk negotiations. People can have their own definitions of ducking, but if 'duck' is to mean avoiding a fight, then Fury still did earlier in the year. Priced himself out and showed little interest when Usyk was eager and ready to go.

Think Usyk signed with Skill share 2 days after negotiations with Usyk fell through, now think of how complicated a multi fight deal in a foreign country as champion with a promotion company new to a sport riddled with politics, Its VERY obvious they had been dealing with Skill share for months, AJ got caught out admitting he was not ready for the Fury fight, Hearn was caught out saying exact same yet tey went and fought a month before the asked for date by Fury. Completely different era & different circumstances… the fights were all pre-agreed as part of a series by HBO & Don King to create a unified heavyweight champion, none of the fighters involved had held any of the belts for more than a couple of fights… I get your sentiment but it’s not comparable, all the belts were in different hands with no long term domination, it was literally set up to see who was the best… King also dominated US boxing at the time which is where it all happened.

I watched a very recent interview with Tyson Fury in which he said he doesn't care what anyone thinks. In the next breath he said he was 'disappointed' with TalkSpot which is is different from not caring. Then he banned Talksport from seeing his fights. That suggests he is quite angry, and so cares. Tyson talks a great deal. Not much of it makes sense if you think about it. To quoue Gladiator...'the time of honouring yourself is almost over.' Somthing like that.

But they didn’t offer Frank Sanchez or arslanbek Makhmudov or Martin bakole who were all ranked above chisora at the time.
All of them would have accepted the fight.
Franks argument against all of these guys is that fury vs any of them isn’t commercially viable.
But Anthony Joshua fought and sold out arenas against guys like takam, povetkin, pulev etc (if fury is just as big as AJ then why can’t he do the same without a big name dance partner ?)

Frank and Tyson knew that DDD was their man for Usyk in late 2021 and they should have just been honest rather than trying to manipulate everyone with spin, hence, the veins popping on Franks head and neck trying to force his viewpoint that he wants everyone to take on. Every decision from that root was to get DDD in there with Usyk before Tyson, I wish they would have been straight up, much more palatable.

Listening to Frank Warren talk about Fury and Skills Challenge is extremely confusing. Last time I heard him talking about it, he was saying that Fury couldn't have ducked out of fighting Usyk for Skills Challenge because they never sent him an offer. Now he's saying Fury "signed for it" with Skills Challenge and Usyk pulled out with an injury. But how could Fury have signed for it with Skills Challenge if they never sent him an offer?
He seems to alternate between those 2 versions of what happened every time he is asked about it. They can't both be true, so one of them must be a lie.
What I Iremember of that is Warren and Bob Arum announcing that Fury and Usyk had agreed terms to fight each other for a 50/50 split and the fight would happen either in December 2022 or February/March 2023. Usyk then came out and said it would have to be Feb/March, because he wouldn't be fighting until after Christmas. Fury responded by insisting it had to be December or not at all, and the rest is history.
Good that Fury is ready to fight anybody, I hope this includes the top 8 presently listed on the various boxing organisations ranking lists.
It's a long time since his Wilder fight and about time that he fights anybody of the top ranked names.
Ngannou dropped him and gave him a hiding (yes I know Fury apparently won) and that's not one of the top ranked fighters. (Now Nr.10 on the WBC ranking?)
But, let's patiently wait for the Usyk fight, if it happens?

The 80s/90s was when boxing had promoters that weren’t afraid to have their top fighter losing and knew that 3-5 fights a year would make more money.

The “ambush” narrative is completely nonsense. If Adam can get on air and bring the heat with his own strong opinions then surely he should have the knowledge to reply to anything said to him at a moments notice without having to prepare for it . If you are a true boxing analyst then you really should be able to comment on any stance at any time under any conditions, particularly for someone who has made strong money from boxing like Adam has .

There has been a lot of negativity and criticism towards boxing from TalkSport and in some cases this negativity and criticism has been justified. I think the upcoming announcements/fights deserve to get some positive airtime now. Also as a boxing podcast there was not a mention or discussion on last weekends shows, there was some great fights you would expect and that deserves a boxing show to discuss, there getting neglected.
