- In today's video we follow my journey with this VW Caddy Maxi. It was a stressfull week with the Mini and my friends vehicles both breaking down outside my house, then the VW Caddy had a failed injector. This escalated when a copper washer fell into the engine and eventually pushed me to buying a different van.

I had the same problem with my caddy and it turned out to be the EGR value. Rather than replace it I know a guy who Re-Mapped the ECU and now it runs great.
I have Mk6 Golf with this engine and the nightmare has just started. Injector no.2 has failed on me 50km away and the car was not driveable, decided that towing was the best option. I've managed to install a second-hand injector in good condition and the car is back on the road, but I'm afraid that in this way I will have to carry a backup injector and pray that will come off easily as this time did...
Sound like mine these days,,nothing showed up on diagnostic but could tell by touching injector,,mine also had oil light come on a few years back,,it was blocked oil sieve,, 2012 1.6

You may have thought you got a bargain with that £150 injector, until you find out that it's totally impossible to refurb the electrical component (the part that fails). So what you actually have their is a used injector that has been dismantled and cleaned up to look like new but will have exactly the same problem as the existing one.
If i have this problem and i get brand new injectors will the electrical component be switched?
