Smashing video mate, she is a stunner, really lv the in depth detail. I love to her people being so enthusiastic about their builds. Nice to hear she is a keeper.
Thanks man! Really appreciate that! Yeah, its not going anywhere!
It has come a looooong way, looking great! Congratulations 🤤
It certainly has! Thanks man!
This video is exactly what I wanted for my EP3 🤙
I will be watching this later Olly.
The editing already looks on point and I'm only 5 minutes in
Awesome! Appreciate it man! I am glad I could help you out!
@@OllyRoss I'll be the first person to say mine won't look as good as yours but if you ever fancy a meet/ track day, could be good fun!
I’m sure it looks great man! My plan is to get out to more meets and shows next year so that would be cool
Great video Olly! I will definitely be giving a few watches and cherry picking what I want to change on my EP3. I can't believe how cheap it was for the hondavert and a remap, I've been getting quotes in the thousands.
One thing I will say is that I have Michelin PS4s and in my experience they're brilliant in the dry, but when it's wet you have to extremely careful not to find the nearest ditch.
Awesome! That is great to hear as that is what I wanted this video to be!
Quotes in the thousands! That is crazy! A Kpro V4 and a map should be costing around £1100-£1200 I think. That is the top end of spending unless you are looking at standalone prices.
Good to know about the tires. I still have plenty of life in these Rainsports so we shall see.
I've just buy my ep3 and your video is very helpful !
thanks you !
No worries! Glad you found it useful
Great looking ep3 and insight 👍🏻
Thanks! Really appreciate it! Glad you found it useful!
Love the ep3 bro 👍🏻🔥🔥
Thanks man!
I found your channel when i got my ep3 a few weeks back and im loving it, just wondering, where did you get the recaro headrest pillow, love the car bro and love that you actually go into detail with the parts, common W
That is awesome! Congrats on getting the car! I actually got them from a stall at Japfest a few years ago. No link for them unfortunately! I am glad you are enjoying the content!
Ep3 🔥🔥🔥🙌💪
💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
I fell in love with your car mate.
Damn! That’s sick man! Appreciate it!!
Very nice video and in depth explanation. I'm not sure if I'm fully a fan of the vignette on the video thumbnails and maybe on the colour grading of the video itself as I prefer things to be brighter and pop, but maybe that's the theme you purposely go for and I also run quite a low screen brightness :D (Edit: It does have a cinematic look though)
Thanks for the feedback. This is just the look I go for. There are some dark shots in this for sure though!
Awesome car bud! It’s amazing and upsetting at the same time when you sit down with pen and paper and work out the cost! Which kinda shocked me! If it would make you feel better, my car after going through receipts for Mugen and Spoon parts including my jdm ep3 owes me just shy of 30k! 😢🤦♂️🤦♂️😂😂😂👍
Thanks man! Yeah, its a scary thing to actually work out!
Damn! That is crazy! Haha! At least they are all genuine parts so you own some cool bits!
Awesome 👏
Thanks! This is actually pretty old now and I need to do an updated one once I have done a few more bits
It's a great looking car 😎👍🏻
Thanks! Really appreciate that!
The best EP3 I have ever seen! Can the induction and pedals pass MOT? thanks!
Damn! That is high praise! Thanks! It has had a few more mods since this video too!
Yeah, they are both fine for MOT
Great video pal, I’ve had my ep3 for over 5 years now and it’s still standard with only 66k on the clock. Going to start adding performance mods soon, do you notice much difference with the coilovers?
Thanks man! Damn! That is crazy low! The coilovers are great! They stiffen up the ride and make it handle so much better. It’s on another level when you get all the other bits you need to get a Fast Road set up though!
perfect build, i own an ep1, wish it was cosmic grey. Mine is satin silver
Thanks! I am glad you like the car! The grey is amazing but to be fair, I don’t think any of the colours look bad
@@OllyRoss I agree it aint bad, but i like the cosmic grey more. Going to paint my b16a valve cover that color in my eg
Yeah, Cosmic Grey does look incredible… haha! That will look awesome! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
U should hydro dip that gear knob in a carbon fibre design would match the carbon fibre scheme in ur car
Haha, I would probably just get a carbon gear knob. I love the Neo Chrome look though!
Very clean. I have a 2002 EP3 the US one though =( It's still a lot of fun, I love it. Its unique here in the states.
Thanks! Yeah, it has a K20a3 in your one doesn't it? Like you said, still a great car to drive!
@@OllyRoss Yeah it's the a3. Maybe one day i'll do the K24 swap. It's a pretty popular swap over here to get over 200 whp
It's perfect.
Thanks man! Still got a couple of bits to go before it’s perfect to me but it’s very close
stunning car. i used to have a civic sport and loved it but always wanted a civic type r ep3. in your opinion do you think there are still good used examples out there? I'd love to get one!
I would say there are a few good ones out there. They are going up in price though so it could be good to get in sooner rather than later!
I am new to this channel, the car looks nice ! May I ask what power does it makes with these performance mods installed ? Thank you :)
Thanks for checking it out. This video is a little outdated now as I am running different parts and more power. I do plan to do an updated version of this once I have finished the car. If you check some of the more recent videos, you will see the full journey but the short answer is it is now running 254bhp peak power
@@OllyRoss Cool mate, I am catching up on all the videos I haven't seen. Looking forward for more content from you !
Mega!
Appreciate it guys!! 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
Hi mate, I’m thinking of ordering the front lip that you have.. can you remember if it was a pain to get fitted or not?
Nice one! It will look good! I don't know to be fair as it was fitted by a body shop.
Are they a good size in side as I’m a tall man 6”8 and would love one but been told the seat only goes back doesn’t lower
Hmmmm… good question as I just missed out on 6 foot! The only option I can think of is to get some low seat rails with a different seat set up.
Not sure about these specific seats but I'm 6'3 and have the prem edition seats, plenty of headspace for me, if anything I'd have liked to be sat a bit higher up
What’s up with the kaizen website I can’t seem to get on it is there any other places I can get any of the kaizen mods?
Kaizen decided to call it day and close up shop. I will go through this list and change as many links as I can moving forward
I love the grey looks better than champ white. Never liked white on ep3
The Cosmic Grey is an amazing colour!
Hi, I’m 13 and wanting an EP3 for a first car and I was wondering where are the best and cheapest places to buy them ?? 👍
That will be a pretty amazing first car but you may struggle to pay the insurance on a car like this. Have a look on Autotrader so you can get an idea of how much they are and keep watching the prices over the next few years until you are ready to buy one.
He still sells the mjc bolts if you message him on Facebook :)
Oh sweet! That’s good to know!
I have an fn2. I love it, but this kinda makes me want an ep3 🫣 I love the shape and it’s starting to look like a modern classic. Very nicely done too, OEM+ ftw
Well... It looks like you mind is already made up! Haha! Thanks though! I am glad you like it.
What problems did you have with your previous tps? I’m getting some juddering when I let off my throttle and suspect it’s that
Mine was actually throwing my car into limp mode whenever I went on full throttle. I got a code too. Is yours giving you a code?
Nope no code, but read that it could be either tps that needs calibrating or cleaning iacv.
From the research I did when looking for a solution, I found that the oem tps is notorious for failing and a bit of a mission to calibrate. That’s why I decided to get the Acuity one. Worth giving the iacv a clean first as that should be easier
What was it like to drive this as a daily? Is it actually worth it to buy and is it reliable? Also what is the mpg like on it lol
I have a full video on this to give you more detail: czcams.com/video/vgs3iSX3iWM/video.html
Have you 15mm or 20mm wheel spacers?
I have 5mm in the front and 3mm in the rear
I'm considering switching from a mk7 fiesta St to one of these. What do you guys think?
Depends on what you are looking for? Do you want an epic B road car with a great engine that loves to Rev but doesn’t have a massive fuel tank and isn’t amazingly fast in a straight line?? If you want a drivers car that will put a smile on your face then get one but they aren’t to everyone’s taste as they don’t have a modern interior or sound deadening. I love it because it’s just raw driving and great fun!
@@OllyRoss Thanks for your reply. I'm really leaning towards getting one and feel like what you describe is exactly what I want. I'll let you know if I do end up getting one 👍
@@goqob2776 did you ever switch? Curious as i have a stage 2 ST
@@RiperSnifle haha yeah I did make the switch. I recently sold my EP3 but it was a really fun car while I had it
@@goqob2776 how would you compare the ST and the type r?
What wheel width are the enkies 8j or 8.5 ?
8J ET45 but definitely get ET35 for the perfect EP3 spec
Hey not sure if usdm ep3s and jdm/euro ep3s suspension are exactly the same but did you do anything for bump steer or rear camber arms?
Ah yes! Sorry, I didn’t mention it because mine came with some on the car so they slipped my mind. I have nothing for bump steer but I do have rear camber arms.
@@OllyRoss did you do extended ball joints or anything? Love the car and the ride height your at
@@SmittyHD-zq7gk I have hardrace front ball joints but I think they are just OEM replacements. Thanks though man! I can’t take credit for the ride hight as that was all set up by Motion Motorsport as part of their Fast Road Set Up.
@@OllyRoss okay sweet i was looking at the hardrace extended studs! Lowering my ep3 in BCs and want to have a agressive ride height for daily driving. Thanks for getting back to me have gotten so much help from people and figuring out the geometry on the suspension! And what works best thanks!
matts , to cover the matts , to cover the carpet, to cover the floor....lol
You are 100% correct! 😂😂😂
Olly I have 143k on the clock. Is it worth spending the cash. Does millage affect these cars value much. Cars mint thow. Fsh
It is a hard one. Has it had a timing chain done? I think from the outside looking in, high milage might be seen as a downside but if it is a well looked after engine with regular oil changes (or just not running too low on oil) then that would be better than a 80K milage engine with no care. The main thing that people will look for moving forward now is the condition of the shell. How rusty it is will be a major reason to resale value. What are you spending the cash on??
143k is nothing given regular oil changes. its not uncommon to even turbo over 200k driven k20s.
What mats you using on the floor mats
The ones on top of the JDM ones?
@@OllyRoss yep?
@@Synept they are just some Jaguar F-Pace mats. They don’t really fit but I can’t be bothered to get anything else! Haha
What color is the paint job?
It’s the OEM paint from Honda. Cosmic Grey 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
what bhp is it pushing
Currently 220hp peak but 50hp gain in the midrange. Will change a couple bits and push for more power soon.
Where to get parts in Europe
I think Tegiwa here in the UK ship to Europe. They may even have a euro version of their site.
@@OllyRoss is any of that certificated??
More cheaper parts than Kaizen for them parts without there logo, why advertise there brand ??
Has kaizen shut down?
Yeah it has, they shut up shop a few months ago now.
Would be happier about getting a fast road setup than a tune on my own car, getting access to chassis black magic is so worth it. But unless you've already upgraded most of the suspension components to adjustables, it doesn't make much sense
Well you technically can’t get a proper fast road set up without everything being adjustable anyway. But yeah, you are completely right! It’s probably why I didn’t go for more power sooner as it transformed the car
With all that amount of money spent, could’ve slap a turbo cuz
Nah, not interested it turbocharging this. Will probably do something else in the future.
oh god its like a kid was given a chance to tune a car. fake carbon and red washers everywhere looks like shit. also I think my grandma has those wheels.
Why watch the vid if you're just gunna chat sh*t in the comments?
@@keenan9427 how is that even related lol
9000 thank me later
Just curious… is that the only reason you clicked on the video??
Wish i knew how much but no way im sitting through 25 minutes of this to find out..............shame everyone keeps making such long boring videos these days!
I guess it depends on what you want from the video. I made it for people interested in parts on the car which is why I spent the time talking about every part and linked it in the description. I couldn’t really make it much shorter. If you want to know the cost of everything together then you can just skip to the end. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
