I bought my 490 five years ago before the market was littered with other campers. It is for those of you that don’t mind setting up camp in remote locations where the limitation is your tow vehicle. It is an incredible machine. Congrats to ROA for getting a great trailer. And I hope ROAs relationship with the new dealer involves some of the other models!
They are awesome campers for sure. My one complaint about them is now the "camp" side is on the driver's side for us in North America. If they ever mirror their layout to make it more friendly to how we north american's tend to set up camp, it would be very damn good.
Yes. For us we mostly camp off grid and not in camp sites so it is more flexible on how you park it.
Yeah. But you don’t camp in campgrounds with these rigs.
I really like this camper... Of all the "big" camping trailers, it looks like this give you more. Not a lot of "tricks" that will break after the first season out. IMHO. :)
Yes! It has everything you need and not so many unnecessary stuff to break. 😀

I love all the trailers you guys offer but holy quacamole...they are ridiculously expensive and cant afford it. So I will just stick with backpacking and tent camping...
OOO I saw some upgrades. Is that the 2022 version of the UEV-490 or the American upgrades? With the airbags do you extra clearance?

You will be fine in rain. We’ve camped in 20° and it was chilly. We’re offering a upgraded diesel heater so you can camp in colder weather. But this is not made for winter camping unless you do it dry. For sure better than a tent in winter. 😀
I want this exact model! What’s the wet weight estimated to be? I’d be hauling it behind a 4Runner.

Yes. We do at ROA but you would need to get it through us. It is a must upgrade! 😀
Consider diesel for heat and keep your propane for cooking and how water. For AC look at some of the new battery powered AC units that you can recharge with solar. Works well if you only need AC at night while you're falling asleep.

Yes. They originally were in South Africa and then moved production to China.
Very stout rig. This thing would be a bargin if one could buy it less the 15k to ship it from the other side of the world. Ya like you I am more of a whiskey drinker then a wine drinker...JK you have to admit you set your self up for that one. What happens to your gear on the inside when your wheeling like you do?

It has an air bag system. Just push a button to level. It is very easy!

I don't like this trailer! If you inside, one gets a military vibe and feeling! Nothing neutral or something to take you to nature to relaxation!
These are not the same as the old ones. These are Made In China, not South Africa! The US importer is not importing the real Conqueror, it’s an “official” branded Chinese made knock-off. Do your research before you drop $50k+!
