Newest heretic's path! Sadly I haven't used anything it offers, by the time you unlock new spells you'll probably win without it. Also I wish all rituals required twise less items.
I though the final ritual wouldn't gib bodies and almost failed my heretic bro's ascention, whoops. Knock Ascension spawns 10~ random ghost-controled heretic mobs.

May I mention the monstrous murder of a xenobiologist? Yes, he was on the list, but, damn it, he didn't create problems, accepted everything as it is, worked for the benefit of his department and even accepted death calmly. I bet if he had been asked peacefully, he would have gone to the ritual himself.
It's sad to see because xenobiologists are always targeted by antags since they are always far from everyone and mostly alone, it's sad truth for us xenobiologists
I'm pretty sure they need to be either dead or in crit to be sacrificed-- also the xenobiologist probably didn't die unless their body was damaged "beyond repair." Being sacrificed heals you and teleports you to a "shadow realm" minigame on a different z-level where you have to avoid a barrage of dark hands that do minor damage. If you survive then you get teleported back to the station alive with an incurable fear of heretics. If you die then the same thing happens except you're, you know, dead.

@@tipoima they probably gambled they were a different path which would have been easier to kill (they wouldnt have a hoarde of player monsters to attack AI) and decided to use them to kill people and be another issue for the crew to deal with
Malf AIs can't fight against any ascended path because they all unlock jaunts by the time they ascend

The more of this I watch, the more I realize how much Barotrauma copied SS13's homework.
As a longtime (retired) SS13 player: successfully copying SS13's homework is an incredible accomplishment that deserves respect. The guy who made DayZ invested millions into his own attempt and failed.
