- Melt and pour soap is a great option for beginners! In this video, Bramble Berry CEO and Founder, Anne-Marie Faiola, goes over the basics of melt and pour soapmaking.
All you have to do is melt the premade base, customize it with your favorite colors and scents, and pour into a mold. Once you get the hang of the process, you can experiment with advanced techniques like layers and swirls.

Please should we heat the base to 140 degree Celsius??
How much mica and how much fragrance oil per 1 LB soap base?
When you showed the example of your fragrance calculator it saw 0.28oz. How do you get that measurement? when using my scale I can’t get 0.28oz
I just ordered a whole bunch of things for soap making, I've wanted to try it for a while and i'm ready to start my business now :) thanks for the video!
Great tutorial Anne-Marie! I've been loving your business, products, and instructions/tutorials for over a decade and a half. I loved going to Otion and spending time there browsing your awesome products for purchase! Loved making a day trip out of it, stop at Boomer's and drive Chuckanut Dr. on the way back home. I'm thankful for all you've contributed to the soapmaking world all these years, thank you! Mel 🙏💝🧼
Im just getting started learning about this process and am interested in trying it myself soon, so this was perfectly timed! Thank you for such a helpful and thorough video, I learned a lot!
I make cold process soaps for over 7 years now :) I remember my first soaps were melt and pour . they so easy to make.
Is cold process hard?
Thanks for the helpful video! I started soap making backwards, going straight for Cold Process because I thought that was how "real" soap "should" be made. But I now realize that's a silly mindset to have. Cold Process is great, but there's nothing wrong with Melt and Pour! I'm excited to have an easier and safer method under my belt for times when I want to make pretty soap but I really don't feel like going the extra mile.
Thank you!
I'm just getting back to soap-making after not doing anything with it for several years. This vid was exactly what I needed to get the creative juices going again, give me some good ideas, and remind me how to do things. Bramble Berry rocks! Best customer service!
Me too!
"The meltage" lol I've been watching soap making videos for days and I think this is the best one I've seen. Thanks!
I’m new to soap making and this is just what I needed thank you so much.
I just got melt and pour soap for Christmas! Can't wait to use it!
Another gem of a video i came across! You are such a darling explaining everything in such details. Thank you thank you thank you ❤
I love your energy it's contagious had me laughing at the end with your singing. I'm getting ready to try making my own soap real soon. ❤️
This was a great video. I have overheated my soap base and experienced the same result
This is the second video I've seen on this channel and let me tell you, it's an excellent video with valuable technical advice. I love this channel.
I loved your video! You are a great instructor! I learned more from you today than any of these other videos I've watched! Thank you!
What a great video! Especially the in-depth melting in a microwave.
Thank you so much for this video. I am in love with learning everything
This was an awesome and very helpful presentation. Thank you so much!
What a great and informative presentation! I got all my supplies at a ready, and am about to make my first melt'n'pour batch of soaps but, of course, I had no idea where or how to start. Your video was truly enlightening, I have Liked and subscribed, and am looking forward to watching more of your excellent tutorials.
Well, I'm happy to report that my soaps were a huge success. I've made several batches with all kinds of beautiful essential oils, in many different moulds, for the family as well as my coworkers, and everybody loved them! I must have made close to 50 soaps, and have enjoyed my new hobby immensely. Once again, many thanks for your tutorials which were instrumental in the success of my endeavor.
She is so crazy in a good, crazy bestfriend kinda way. I laughed out loud with her songs at the end of the vid😄love her videos so informative🧡
I was just here for a quick description, but this was a very informative video. Nice job, thank you
Thank you so much! I've been wanting to add soaps to my vendor business! Your tutorial is excellent! I can't wait to order!
What do you sell?
thank you so much for this video Bramble berry, I'm in the process of starting a soap business and video did for me,again thank you.
All my questions about soap making were answered...Thanks😊
Thank you! This is very informative and it was presented really well!
Fantastic tutorial! Thank you so much!
Thanks so much! I need to purchase supplies for this since I’m taking a mold making and casting class in college and our current project is a plaster mold, and resin doesn’t like plaster so we can basically only make casts with melt/pour soap or candle wax. So now I need to learn all about this before my next class in 2 days aaaah hopefully it goes well for me!
Thank you I can't wait to try to make SOAP!
This is a fantastic how to video. Thanks for making it!
Absolutely love your tutorial 😁 very clear and kind.
Thanks so much! 😊
Thanks for this video. I will go with melt and pour for my first try.
Just what I needed.... Thank you so much....
your video was sooo incredibly helpful!! The color “theory” part was also good to know!
I’m super excited to make a few soaps, thinking about ordering an oatmeal base!! 🥰🤍

Very good information. I'm starting to make soap for me and my family healthier
Best video I’ve seen! Great job…
Thankyou, I wish say your information is awesome and Hi from Australia as I going to have a go at making soap for personal use.
Thank you! I am a beginner and found a recipe on the net for goats milk soap. It never said how much to heat the base so of course it got overheated. Thank you so much for the explanation of the results of overheating. It's in my block mold right now and I have hopes it will set up right and not flake into pieces when used but time will tell.
Great guide line loved the video loved your channel it was excited and knowledgeable mam

I add my mica powder in my soap before it goes into the microwave. It works out great.
Wow! I have to try that
Me too. Makes it easier to make sure the mica are mixed in properly
Okay, wow thanks for posting

@@gulnarbhiwandiwala232 yeah

Good morning 😊👋 watching from Philippines 😊👋🌟
Beautiful
Thanks for the beginners guide to melt and pour soaps. Just curious have ever used liquid dyes for color to soap instead of powders? If so thoughts
I love this video
I love it, I don't have to deal with Lye. That is my main concern with Lye. I am so happy to give this a try.
I REALLY WANTED TO SEE WHAT THE GLOOPY ONE LOOKS LIKE WHEN DRIED LOL - COULD BE A COOL GAG GIFT HAHA - but thanks for this very very informative tutorial.. here I go !!!
Hey
Can you please do a tips video on how to increase the lather in the melt and pour soaps ?
Hi Anne-Marie, I love your video. I am so glad I found your video as I am about to add soaps to my candles and diffuser range. I want to make a large batch using double boiler method. Can I use my large metal jug to melt or should I use a heat resistant plastic jug? Also I have plastic soap moulds which are a version of wax melts moulds. Can I use those plastic moulds or do I have to get silicon ones? Thank you so very much. 🙏
Great video! I want to learn to do this because I don’t think messing with lye is a good idea for me. I’m sensitive to so many chemicals. 😥 I want to make my mother some non-irritant soap because she has skin problems when using a lot of soap. Olive oil or oatmeal looks good! I love pastels! 😊
Thank you for your video! It was very helpful. If I didn’t want to use the microwave, can I melt it on the stove? Would I use a double broiler?
Hello and thank you so so much for your videos!! 🙏🏻💟🦋 I am just getting started and have ordered most of my items from you & ty for that as well!! 🥰✨ now is it best to wrap all my soaps for packaging with the shrink wraps? Or what would you suggest? TYI 🙏🏻💟✨
Bramble Berry's various soap bases help you achieve your desired design. 😊💖 There are many options, and you can choose. MP soap is a material used a lot by beginners, but a quality MP soap base is still a source of inspiration for even experienced soap makers!👍
Agreed. Sad when I see ppl making beautiful soap with a low quality soap base that has detergents and sulphates in it! That stuff dries out my skin. If ur gonna do MP, go for the higher quality soap bases out there. And Bramble Berry sells it.😊
Hey..I love ur videos..I have recently tried making soaps but by double boil method but within few seconds my soap bases starts getting hard..I get very less time to mix up my oils and colors ..pls suggest..thank u
Awesome mam
thanks
Informative
can I melt the soap base in the same microwave I use for reheating food?
Hi! I have some great smelling Jojoba oil infused with Frankincense and Myrrh resin. Can I buy a loaf of unscented cold pressed soap, melt it and add the Jojoba infused oil, then pour it back in a mold to harden again? Thank you for your time and input.
Wow!!! Thank you very much for your explanation on soaps I’ve been watching so many videos and they explain either too much with many chemistry details that it sounds like I’m either in a university or in a lab class and I can’t understand it.
I like your video!
God Bless!
Is there a video or like a guide I can read about how clear melt and pour soaps react to certain fragrances? Like what fragrances will get them cloudy or what fragrance will not affect the clarity of the soap etc...
Love all your tutorials has helped my business alot thank you! Is there a recipe to make melt and pour base please? Many thanks God bless
Thank you so much! We don't currently have a recipe for the melt and pour bases, thanks for checking!
Thank you for this video. Great info. How long is the soap good for once you make it?
We usually suggest using your soaps within one year, but always remember that your shelf life is going to be based on whatever ingredient has the shortest shelf life.
Wholesale supply has had color blocks also.
Gosh, love your channel ❤️ now I have a problem. I want to make candles and soap. Decisions, Decisions! Unfortunately I'm the type of person that will do both at the same time and spit the dummy if I ruin it on the first go and pack it all away lol
Hi Anne-Marie. So I’m just starting to learn how to make soaps and I used the white melt and pour soap base. I made two small soaps but they don’t lather at all. Can you tell me what I’m doing wrong?
Hi there ,could you make a video on melt n pour pinetar soap please. Thx! 🎉
Hey your video is sooo amazing. Can i just ask if i didnot want to put any gelatin and alcohol in my soap would that still turn out good?
One of my best friends and I bought a melt and pour kit from Michael's, and we were working in such small quantities to try and do layers that we ended up overheating the soap and it hardened SO FAST! We had no idea what we did wrong until I watched this just now!! SO helpful!!! We'll be sure to melt more soap down at a time so it doesn't overheat so quickly next time! xD The quality of the soap probably also makes a huge difference, since Michael's soap isn't on par with Bramble Berry!! It would be SO COOL if you guys one day worked with Michael's to get some QUALITY melt and pour on their shelves!!!
You can actually purchase some of our melt & pour kits and fragrance oils at Michael's!
@@bramble-berry Friend What is the mixture needs to put together to make soap.
Thanks
Hope ur using the detergent -free soap base from that store, bcz the rest is over priced garbage that dries out your skin. Happy soaping
I love it but where do i get all those designs board and so on and whayvis the most ingredients I need to start making soap yes its lovely
Thank you
Can i use mica ??
Thank you for sharing🥰 I'm interested in buying the clear base and the color block from this company. 1.Where are they shipping from and is shipping usually fast?
I just picked up a kit for fun, and found this store/channel. I am going to buy a microwave and cover it in contact paper too. Hahaha
I like how she says the bubbles “POP!”
hi .. i use clays only .. so when i have to add clay to the soap i first mix it with a tblspoon of glycerin .. make a slurry paste then add to the soap .. im i doing right ? or i should use anything else instead of glycerin????
thanks in advance fir this lovely video.
I have read 2 different opinions of what to do with the harden M&P. 1. once it hardens you cannot reheat it. 2. once it hardens you can reheat? Which one is true pls? I have been using reheated soap for the embeds. Thank you a lot :)
Can you mix base soaps? Like goats milk and oatmeal base can you mix them to make a soap
Can I recommend a simple melt and pour kit that have all the tools for a reasonable price for a begginer
Thank you for this. What is the best temperature to add your essential oils and actives?
On the cooler side
