    Thanks for the video, I just did my 2006 M5 and it totally worked. You saved me $850 which is what my shop quoted me. now all my sensors went off and I'm able to drive my car in full M-mode, which wasn't working along with the Tire sensors, DCS, and a shit load of other fault codes, but all is working again now. Again great video THANKS Nathan!!!

    This is an excellent repair video. BMW is certainly doing everything they can to both guarantee that people are unable to work on these vehicles without extensive knowledge AND that there will be an overabundance of things that will fail.

    Thanks Nathan. Cleaning the disc fixed my issue of constant fail indication/recalibration cycle. The local dealership told me I needed a new Gateway Module! The trickiest part for me was getting the airbag out (E63). Many thanks for a very informative video; I couldn't have done it without you. Great work.

      @@jpbuendia4089 From my experience of at least changing the steering wheel (2007 E91), if you unplug the battery before doing your work then reconnect the battery AFTER EVERYTHING IS INSTALLED AND HARNESSES CONNECTED, you should not have any errors, so long as the reinstall was completed correctly.

    Excellent video, high quality and very informative! Thank you , much appreciated.
    As always, there's someone with a critique but this one is minor. I've read that rubbing alcohol can leave a haze or slight etching. I've never worked with plastic optics so just a heads up, it's recommended to use something like meguire's plastic cleaner or something specifically for plastic since they wont etch or haze. Like I said though, i've never worked with plastic so it's probably safe and there's just a bunch of worry warts trying to scare me about rubbing alcohol lol. Again, thank you for your time and effort into this video, it's helped me a LOT!

    • @Cliverdude
      @Cliverdude Před rokem +1

      70% rubbing alcohol can definitely leave streaks or haze, 99% alcohol should be clean, clear and non-harmful. Don't use anything with ammonia like Windex glass cleaners etc.

    Cool video, very helpful since I may have to try this myself. My 2007 E60 530i has been having this issue about a year. I changed the battery but that wasn't the solution, the next step would be cleaning or replacing this angle sensor. There's one thing though, local BMW service has resetted and recalibrated the thing twice now which seems to help for a while, I started thing that if you calibrate a dirty sensor would you have to recalibrate again after cleaning? I guess we'll see...

    I have a 08 E66 (750li) I keep getting drive control errors. IT clears when I turn off the engine and take out the key. But then depends on the steering wheel turning, it comes right back on. I also have the annoying Parking brake fault as soon as I stop and ready to exit the vehicle. The signal does get stuck too. I think there is something in the steering that is causing these errors. Im trying to find a video fix, but thought I ask you first. Thanks for all your great videos.

    If you have the steering wheel angle sensor code, do your controls work? Such as wiper controls, turn signals, and cruise control??

    Hi Nathan
    Do you know if this was the same for all e60 years or just LCI? Thanks!
    Mine is the 2004 model and from what I'm finding online they suggest this sensor:
    32306765858
    I seem to have bought the E39 with a e60 shell

    Oh Lord. The amount of detours you have to take to get something done is unbelievable. Good thing you were going into the transmission anyway. Sucks you have to do extra work, tho.
