BMW Dynamic Stability Control Fault - Fixed - How To DIY

  • In this video I show a step by step guide on fixing the dynamic stability control DSC fault (dynamic traction control) DTC where it has a permanent warning light on in the dash (yellow/orange triangle with exclamation mark in centre of it) I swap over the abs control module from the old unit to the new working pump.
    Unfortunately the first part of this video I shot was unusable and there for I have no footage of the test drive or the fault codes being read, I have placed some fault codes down below that are linked with this fault on different models.

    I have also done previous work on the ABS and traction control systems in a BMW Link Here • ABS Reluctor Ring Repl...
    I show a step by step guide on how to replace a damaged abs reluctor ring & remove the rear driveshaft in a BMW e90. This is the second time I have worked on the ABS in this vehicle, I fitted a speed sensor in a previous video & cleaned up the ring, but unfortunately the issue was not fixed for long when the problem came back.
    I take a much deeper look as to why this happened and how to correct it.
    Here is the link for part one if interested

    Thanks for the video. I believe the motor brushes are the real issue in the motor which obviously doesn't create any pressure and gives that fault code.

    Hi, I hoping to get some advice. I recently took my BMW X5 F15 to the BMW servuce centre to look at all the warning lights that started appearing and was told that DSC Contruo Unit needed to be replaced. I had j no I choice but belive them and preceded with the expensive task of replacing it with a new unit; however after replacement the warning signals still appeared and I was told that they investigating further. A day later I was advised that there was short circuit with the wiring and now it is all working fine. Is it fair for me to suspect that DSC unit did not require replacement and it was a wiring issue all along? BMW service claims the short circuit was related to the replacement procedure. Should I believe that? Thanks in advance!

    Hi, Good Video...very informative. I have a question if you don't mind. My 2007 BMW x3 e83 3.0si is doing something strange which is not uncommon for this car. Recently I cleaned my wheels with some high pressure water. It seemed after that some of my problems started.
    When reversing down my steep driveway and applying the brake pedal with light pressure the ABS pump will come on as if I hit oil or ice. However, when going forward down the driveway it does not happen. Usually happens at first start or when the car hasn't been driven for a bit. I went to work and cleaned the sensors front and rear. The rear sensor ring was full of dust, rust and and road debree. The sensor was touching the ring, I cleaned the magnetic sensor, sanded it a little, plastic, and I wire wheeled the sensor mounting area.
    I had 1 code P1774 check engine with the 4x4, abs and brake light on the dash. At that point I didn't know what the code was. After cleaning the other side I got a P1775 Code which told me it must be ABS speed sensors passenger / other side. I recleaned down the hole and on the side under the axle with a nylon brush and brake cleaner. What do you know, was able to clear the computer and have not seen the P codes or the other triad of lights for about 400 miles now. I did the same on the front ABS sensors except the Fronts don't have a tone or sensor ring. The sensor is the same as the rear but the tone ring is in the wheel bearing. The ABS still goes of when reversing down my driveway, maybe I'll just turn my house around, it may be easier. I'm leaning towards wheel bearing and sensor ring but did not know that the DTC was directly controlled to the ABS or know anything about it. Time to go to school. The ABS works when hitting the brakes forward on gravel.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Great Video...

      @Giorobot Před 2 lety

      Maybe a little late response
      have you tried entering your driveway backwards, so that you can test your abs as going forward ,caz it makes sense that your abs activate only one way since you have a steep driveway
