Thank you Thank you so much Trevor for posting this. Michael and I wrote this song for the Disney Splashdance album. Then, Disney asked us to rewrite the lyric for Donalds's 50th birthday which was performed that year for Disneyland's special Donald Duck birthday parade. Whoooohooooo
Ahh, thank you for commenting! I'm glad Trevor has gotten this great song some more recognition! I'm 38 and I still listen to the Splashdance album. Thanks to you and Michael for all your great work 😊
Adding onto this to say I JUST discovered that you and Michael also wrote for the Rainbow Brite albums. Splashdance and Paint a Rainbow in Your Heart are my two absolute favorite cassette tapes that I've never stopped listening to, and the "Gummi Bears" theme is my favorite cartoon theme ever. Patty, thank you SO MUCH for creating so much of the best music of my childhood, which still has an emotional impact on me today!
I grew up with this record and can sing all the lyrics to every song. My sibs and I still sing the songs to each other and I actually came here to get the link to share with my older sister for her 39th birthday today. Thanks for this AWESOME song, it's beloved in my family.
I grew up on Disney since my dad worked for studios in the 80s. I totally remember him playing this for my birthdays when I was young in the late 80s and early 90s. I even remember the words just hearing it for the first time after so long.
Love , love, love this song. We have played this song for our kids since they were babies and they are now 33 and 29. This song never gets old and is always expected to be played at birthdays for everyone in our house now, even for friends. Thank you so much for this song
So much better. We're now adopting this as the official birthday song. Although, it appears he learned the version reworded for Donald's 50th birthday, in 1984. (which you can also find on CZcams)
Wonderful birthday song. I've been playing it for my girls since they were very young. They're now 37 yrs & 40 yrs old and their birthday isn't complete until we play this song!
They also played this song when Eat Bulaga! Indonesia celebrated their 1st anniversary last July 2013. They celebrated their first anniversary as a show and an international franchise of Eat Bulaga!, the longest running afternoon variety show in the Philippines.
Yup. Trevor Noah sent me here. I like this one better! Plus the other one is still owned by someone who really regulates it. I wonder how much Comedy Central had to pay for Trevor singing it?

MY mom used to play this for everyone on their bdays. Every year I listen to it and play it to my sister.
She passed in 2016. Freaking cancer.
