    Can you turn on the ambient lighting and do a nighttime review of the exterior and interior please?

  • @G-Rated
    @G-Rated Před 3 měsíci +2

    Why people skip the welcome animations while doing reviews of the car, I’ll never understand that. Do you want it to be a surprise for buyers or something? I’m surprised he closed the door before starting the car, most don’t even have the sense to do that.
    This looks great though! I love the black and white interior with the white and black accented exterior. Very nice, GMC! 🔥

      Hah, I have kicked myself for interrupting the welcome animation on this one. I’ve got it in our showroom now, I’ll get another uploaded that highlights that specifically 😅

      @@mattrhodes5947 Awe, that was sweet of you. Thanks! If it doesn’t incorporate both the gauge cluster and infotainment system, try restarting the animation. It should include both displays. Never seen it in the Acadia though! 😆

    It may be just my opinion, but you would think the bigger they go for infortainment screen sizes, the more distracting it would be!! 🤔

      Yes, that's right
      I agree with you
      Perhaps the super cruise is there to mitigate the situation a little bit

    They should keep the Acadia size constant. The previous one was downsized so it’s nice to see this gen is bigger again.

    Shout out to Matt! This may be a dumb question but I notice it has panoramic sunroof but doesn't have the 22 inch rims. I thought the only way you get that is with both. I ordered mine without bc as weird as this may sound I don't like the 22 inch rims. Anyways maybe someone can shed some light on this for me. Thanks

    The majority of the driving public do not know enough about engines, turbos, cubic inches, torque and horsepower to care. Just like and air compressor, the higher the pressure you run it the shorter the life of the pump, a car engine is a pump. Turbo's pressurize the engine to falsely make it put out more power. The 4 cylinders lose power as they get more miles on them, there is no substitute for cubic inches, horsepower and torque. I have built engines and turb's boost the pressure into the small engines creating more power at the expense of the life of the engine. Your maintenance cost will exponentially increase with a turbo when it fails. Any economy you may have gotten from the turbo will be totally lost on the replacement cost of the turbo.

    There is no need for paddle shifters on this vehicle. A second row bench seat is a MUST!

    Is there an option for horizontal (landscape) center display/infotainment screen?

    • @mattrhodes5947
      @mattrhodes5947  Před 3 měsíci

      Not in the Acadia, it is the only vehicle in GM's lineup with the 15" diagonal display for the center infotainment system.
      That said if you're looking for a solid horizontal display I plan to take a walkaround of the all-new Traverse which has that in it, I just need one to be available long enough for me to do that hah!

  • @craigsouder9334

    Too much tech controlled from the screen. Gmc has a big problem with glitches when it comes to infotainment.
    58k and then you have no working car. And they cant actually fix it. So now u are stuck.

      same as Traverse 2024.....due to hybrids demand, downsizing is crazy. I personally don't like it.
      I want V6!!!!!!! at least

    • @mattrhodes5947
      @mattrhodes5947  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Yes and no, previously you had the 2.0L Turbo 4-cylinder or the 3.6L V6 engine as available options in the Acadia. When you compare the horsepower you actually go up with the 2.5L Turbo 4-cylinder (328) vs. the 2.0L (220) or the 3.6L (310) so you may be surprised.
      They still have the available options of either FWD or AWD in the redesign of course.

    • @jrighteous1984
      @jrighteous1984 Před 3 měsíci +2

      @mattrhodes5947 so they throw in a small turbo and get 18 more horses ? I'll pass on that , I rather have a Naturally aspirated V6 engine that's been proven the test of time with less stress , 4 cylinders on huge vehicles go through more stress , the more weight the bigger the engine should be , if we are talking about a small Honda Civic ok ill take the 4 cylinder but a full size SUV 6 passenger , nah .. you'll see they will have problems in the future

      @@jrighteous1984 True that

    • @G-Rated
      @G-Rated Před 3 měsíci +2

      @@jrighteous1984No you’re just really behind in engineering and technology. Modern day 4 cylinders are much stronger than they were 10-15 years ago.
      Like previously stated an even smaller 4-cylinder used to be the base model engine and was adequate in power enough to overtake other cars normally if you needed to. The Silverado has even had a similar sized 4-cylinder motor that was designed to tow and haul - they’re apparently built to be more durable than you’re willing to accept. You do not need a 4-cylinder 2.0L turbo engine to move a Civic moderately quickly. These days, that’s a performance engine for a car of that size.
      You’re just way behind the times, like many uniformed Americans who want to reject the change and “downsizing”.

    To be a regular Denali. It looks cheap. To get the Denali with full body paint same color , 22 inch wheels, premium seating and super cruise. It will jump up over $5,000 over this Denali.

    • @mattrhodes5947
      @mattrhodes5947  Před 3 měsíci +4

      Pictures and videos don't do these vehicles justice. I'm unsure how you can see it as cheap even still, the biggest eye opener was the 15" diagonal screen is way more impressive in person than I expected it to be.
      As far as packages go you're referring to Denali Reserve Package and Super Cruise Package. Of course they'll add to the cost!
      Denali Reserve Package - $3,130:
      Panoramic power sunroof
      16-speaker Bose performance audio system with sub-woofer
      22" Pearl Nickel machined aluminum wheels
      22" all-season blackwall tires
      Performance Suspension
      Super Cruise Package - $3,490:
      Super Cruise driver assistance technology
      Driver Attention Assist to ensure attentive driving
      Enhanced Automatic Park Assist
      Rear Camera Mirror
      You can't expect more car to be done on the cheap

      That’s because it _is_ just about as nice as the Denali, just not as great of quality for the materials. That’s where the Denali comes in, more luxurious materials.
