Shocked! Representative from Philippines was not the usual concept of a common teenager. He was so smart and way matured for that age. 🇵🇭
None of the delegates are common teenagers. They are the cream of the crop. Each nation held competitions to select one representative. They could do the same today and get some amazing kids. 😎
@@TitoTimTravels true
they are literally the definition of "ahead of their time"
smart-shaming is real though.. Sometimes, you can find teens trying not to sound "too smart" in order to be called cool. Honestly, Intelligence and eloquence is so cool,, better than the cringey tiktok trends
Smart shaming is just a tool used by insecure people. It's really sad.
Its really sad they must hide their intelligence so they can't be ashamed for just being smart
Amen to that!
That is accurate. "Do you think you can use your intelligence to be successful in your future job?" Someone asked me that question while laughing. I'm not saying I'm smart but I've been asked absurd questions like that before and I learned to adjust (now, no one calls me smart anymore but I am learning less so it is my loss). They target and laugh at people for being "smart" while being proud for being average. Not saying average is bad, just don't mock those who can and want to be more than that.

Wow…. As a current Filipino 15 year old, this is an awesome video and very inspiring!
The younger generations are supposed to surpass the ones that came before them. But after watching this, I can only hope to be as half as good as these gentlemen were.
It is very inspiring to see them professionally expressing their thoughts on important topics considering they are only teenagers, not to forget that they do it with confidence, which is something I lack because of smart shaming.I am intelligent enough to be called smart but it's still difficult because even when I express my thoughts humbly, they already think of me as an egotistic person.
When I graduated in high school in 1956, I had classmates who were good debaters.
How old are you now? And we have the same last names! Anyways God bless you ✝️🙏🏼

The Philippines had great education level, even my uncle went there for his education (we are from Malaysia - Malaya, then).... and alas, corruption was rampant during Marcos era. It shudders me to think that Malaysia could go the same path, considering our government of today.
Thank you. Too bad that historical revisionism is currently rampant here.
I can remember my Cebuana Lola! she was fluent in english and has an accent also like american but when it comes of Tagalog she really didn't know! she can speak perfect English and Spanish even she was just grew up in Cebu. she died at the age of 104 last October 18, 2001
wow I can't believe she passed away at that age! she must've lived a healthy life.
You're Grandma must be proud of you're profile pic
great! it is good to know how pinoys think before..inspiringindeed!
I pray that all Filipino youths aspire to be just even a quart of what Raul is. He is a modern example of the humble Filipino
I SO AGREE
Today's Raul Contreras birthday! Happy birthday to him!
Filipino boy sounds like 1960 presidential election
Filipinos....dont just be good or excellent in academics or rhetorics....but be more of a loving and kind leaders of this country where honesty and integrity are the core of your being.
BRAVE 💜
BRILLIANT 💜
BEAUTIFUL 💜
Wow! That is something inspiring.
Gotta love how smart are education is in the Philippines, many of kids and teens are hardworking since there’s alot of kids who live in poverty and work their hardest to get a better life.
So touching!
New generations are all in tiktok.
Hi sir! A representative of generation Z who is present here (and have finished watching all of the debate sessions of sir Johnny Artillo & Raul Contreras) while enjoying tiktok entertainment.

And?
I love the diction of the words of that kid. Ordinary 15 year old kid in the Philippines really can't do. People spoke here English with the mix of the local words and even half Tagalog phrase and one fourth English and the other quarter is VIsayan accent.
He nailed it😍
They all had varying points of view and different things to contribute. No one is better than the rest. Let's not dwell on who is the best; rather let's dwell on what we can learn from each other. Dapat ba pagalingan?
We can clearly see the difference between the Teenagers then and teenagers now
Philippines is a great nation.
They are so inspiring! Too bad they didn't make a career in Movies and Boxing or even Basketball! They could have been senators and even presidents of the nation.
1:44 Bars 🔥🔥
the best president of the Philippines we never had😢😞
Smart-shaming is real, I stopped myself from showing off too much when I entered junior highschool. Then here goes in my 8th grade classmate before gossiping about how my other classmate is so 'pabida', like what was is wrong being a smart? The top notcher once talked to me about how jealous she was when in her elementary days, she can't get to the tops. Now everyone's jealous of her instead, including me. She's so brave while I'm here in the shadows waiting for them to notice me. Cause they only know me for being good at math and a late comer.
yup its good being an filipino btw im filipino
Maybe we can produce a generation of thinking minds if we expose our children with real books and a disallow them the use of gadgets... but I guess it would be extremely difficult :(
Gadgets can be used in the same way and even better than books. You can expose children to a huge variety of subjects and get them more interested with the gadgets ability to be a gadget itself. Its just that people dont invest enough in educational projects.
@@ananimeenjoyer6125 Also it's just because of the people itself no matter what you do in the end it's up for the people themselves whether they would be interested in there or that.
Also you are right

Bruh mr. raul's voice sounds more mature than mine wtf?
Wait.. they say how in the world?
bro was dripped out ong
I wished we had a guy like them in our school. Or at least the big school beside us.
There was one time where there was a debate going on at that school and the topic involved politics of course. At some point, someone was comparing Philippine law to laws from other countries then their opponents with all the confidence in their voice countered it with "We shouldn't compare our laws with them because we're the Philippines and we stand proud"
Like bruh. That's not only unintentionally racist, but it also makes zero sense. How are you gonna progress as a country and be the best of the best if you don't even compare yourself to others. Then they complain and wonder about why the Philippines isn't progressing or in their words "Bat di umuunlad Pilipinas?" 🤣🤣🤣
Well it is truly wrong to compare our country to others but the thing here is nobody is doing anything :/
All words no action done.
kpop p more + tiktok
They were better influencers than TikTok
It's hard to be showy here in the Philippines, people most will say that you are just boasting about your knowledge. I just chose to be a silent performer instead.
I saw alot of comments here saying young generations are not smart as 1950’s people…That’s a fuck’n lie my 2 years old nephew when his bored he just talk to alexa to entertain him or play him kids song 🤣
Raul wants to live in Japan
Flip top lang malakas.
why the 2nd filipino sound so rrrrrusian tho
Wala na masyadong ganyan ngayon. Ang tahimil sa school recitation pero pagdating sa jowa, ay naku ang daming masasabi

Too bad this guy did not become a President
Yep true
He worked on Aquino's campaign.
Accent and grammar matter less when you speak with substance.
Remember this is a different generations hes a boomer or idk
WTF that in middle of the cold war
Being smart in the Philippines is a shame... Most people here will say that you are just being "pabida" or whatever
reportr : "The topic was prejudice half a century before #BlackLivesMatter"
Also reportr : "#stopAsianHate" ---------YOU DO REALIZE WHERE MOST OF THE ASIAN HATE IS COMING FROM RIIIIIIGHT!?
Its disappointing to know how teen age males act now
After 50 years this inspires it's only now they would be inspired? Hahahaha ! You must be talking at the back of your head. Lol !
Lea Trinidad It could have been an inspiration much earlier if internet was available.
@Sood81 - Hasbara trolls go back to Khazaria There are many reasons why these videos may not be shown. 1. Who owns the video? If the video is owned by philippine government, it could have been shown much earlier if they are aware. If it is owned by private individuals, or private company, or other agencies they did not have interest showing it. 2. It was archived and forgotten. Note that many old films are lost due to inefficient archiving. 3. Nobody is interested in it. 4. TV exposure is expensive unlike youtube which is free. 5. It is in film format. You need special and expensive equipments to view it at that time.
Now they can hardly speak English. They speak taglish, gay talk and text talk, can't speak Filipino and can't speak English.
I don't know about that. They understand, some are just too lazy to study and overall, it's almost like a second language now, third to our dialects. As speaking is a matter if practice you don't really get to practice much unless you are forced to or learning it through games.
I'm lost
Effing so called Flips millennial prepares to learn kpop languages/ cultures.
I can assure you that it isn't just happening in where you live, but pretty much everywhere in every country. Generation Z can't amount to a hill of shit in comparison with the older generations. Things were much better in their era in terms of moral and ethnical values. All these Instagram, Tiktok, Youtubing shits are what people use these days to be away from the reality of hard work. Sad.
