How to Install MicTuning C2 Wrangler Rock Lights - NO extensions needed!

  • How I installed my Amazon MicTuning Rock lights, with no extensions, and a super clean install. I could not find a good example of how/where to install without needing extensions, not installing the control unit under the hood, or which cable can reach where, or showing how to hook up directly to the battery, on Jeep Wrangler 2014 JKU, so I figured it out for myself, and put this together to help others.
    Shot on an iPhone for simplicity.

    Hey good job! I just got this light kit. I might mount slightly different places since I really want to be able to see rocks if I'm crawling at night, less for the wheels to light up. But good video, showed some good ideas for how to run the wires!

      Hey thanks! Yeah I was aiming more lighting up the jeep for a night ride we did at Jeepin with Judd event :) Good luck!

    Am I correct in that you used the black wire and grounded it to the truck? Or should that be connected to the negative part of the battery?

    Nice! Did you have to purchase the 10ft extensions? I purchased the C2's, and C1's! I have 16 lights I'm planning on installing but dont know if all wiring will reach the front of the jeep.

    Question, is the module box water resistant? How has it done with water being mounted underneath?

      Right after installing I did a Jeep event (Jeeping with Judd) and went through several water and mud obstacles on the trails over the 3 days I road. I live in Florida so go through rain and flooded roads pretty often. It's about 6 months later now and no issues so far.

    wondering if you had the option to change it up and had put two lights in each wheel base would you? or is one per wheel base enough light. thanks

    • @TheEditGal
      @TheEditGal  Před 2 lety +1

      That is probably something would be different in each person, based on how they wanted the lighting effect to hit. I personally prefer to have the ground under my vehicle light more than the tire well, that is why I set it up the way I did. If someone prefers to have their well really bright, Then possibly doing a front of well and back of well placement would be ideal for their preference. Personally, I like the way I did mine though :-)

    Question, I'd like that to turn on when I unlock the Jeep. I haven't ordered them yet. Do you know if it "keeps memory"?
    By that I mean if you turn it on to purple then turn off the Jeep or hit your power switch then you turn the Jeep back on the next day will it remember that you were on purple?

    • @TheEditGal
      @TheEditGal  Před 2 lety +1

      Yeh, whatever color you had it on when you turn it off, it will have when you turn it back on.

    My Bluetooth won't connect via app have you had a issue?

    • @TheEditGal
      @TheEditGal  Před 3 lety

      Its strange, you don’t connect via the bluetooth settings on your phone. You have to go via the app itself. Click the little settings menu button on the very top the LED Rock Lights part of the app. And you have to connect it in there. At least on the iphone anyways.

    • @TheEditGal
      @TheEditGal  Před 3 lety

      @@fargodad3 sorry I use an iPhone, the one trick I had to figure out was with the bluetooth, making sure to connect through the mictuning app-led rock lights-menu settings-all devices, and not the iphone-settings-bluetooth way I do for most connections.
