It's sadly very rare to find this piece played outside of Baroque tuning
Very nice recording here
This overture is by far the best and I’ve got lot of good memories associated with this.
Divino Telemann , super genio autodidacta ,el más prolífico barroco , maravilloso !!
Donia Eugenia,no se me olvide de Juan Sebastian!!.-
Thank you Ria.
My best, Karin

The recording lacks atmosphere.
@Thomas Boushier I did: czcams.com/video/8q6MdqR9TPI/video.html
@Thomas Boushier I like to hear the space around the music, and Phillips' Mariner recordings sound like the space has been boxed-in and sucked-out. (I am claustrophobic!)
I barely know Telemann's music. Which pieces must I hear in order to consider him in the class of J.S. Bach or Handel?
Which piece is his B-minor Mass? his Well-tempered Clavier? his Brandenburg Concerti?
@@christofeles63 Love the way that you said "in the class of J.S. Bach or Handel" and yet only use Bach's works as an example.
Edit: Also, this is on Decca, not Philips.
@@RequiemAeternam01 Really? What makes the omission love-worthy?
@@christofeles63 Hold on, on a completely different subject, Marriner's recordings on Hanssler and Capriccio have a more wider-sounding atmosphere to his earlier recordings for Philips and Decca during the 1960s-80s. He did a marvellous Handel Water Music/Music for the Royal Fireworks with the ASMF on Hanssler in 1991, which is my favourite version of the work - I highly recommend checking it out!
