25:54 the "see it, slay it, sorted" internal security campaign is a reference to the "see it, say it, sorted" campaign by the british transport police, who primarily work on our rail network, promoting reporting suspicious items or behaviour on the trains! God I love CA's very british sense of humour!
you beat me to it! Ah, I feel so smugly privileged to know the reference. But after all, isn't that what being British is all about? XD
I paused it when watching the video to read that, and I quite literally spat out my tea reading it, laughing for a full minute 🤣🤣🤣
@@benjones3466 😂
I want "See it, Slay it, Sorted" on merch in the style of "live laugh love"
For anyone concerned about the unit card art it has been confirmed they are placeholders :)
Lol, I was thinking they look a tad wanting
Yep. You can see better ones later in the video, in the skill/tech trees and the final battle of the video.
Need more shades on the cutthroat sneaky-gitz unit card art
i really loved the regular chaos dwarf warrior design !
Okay, the fact that working with your fellow CD faction allows you to easier move up the tower is amazing! I love that there is a reason to keep them alive and work with them.
I still think adding the Sleeper as a random event would be fun. Armies of mixed units that wouldn’t normally work together, an enemy that hates everyone, and if you ignore it for too long it can spread its influence to other places.
Jesse what the fuck are you talking about
Remind me what the sleeper is?
@@samuelevans738 The sleeper was a weird chaos-tainted insect from the Gotrek and Felix series, which used psychic powers to make a mind-controlled army of both dwarfs and orcs- I guess in total warhammer it would be an event which spawns mixed dawi/orc armies from a given point until you complete a quest battle or a siege or something?
@@philmcdonald3322 spot on.
It might sound trivial, but I‘m most excited to see how the new settlements look indepth and how the emptiness between the Dwarfs and Ogres now is filled 😍
Singlehandedly elevates every single Dwarf campaign as well as the Imrik, Greasus and ESPECIALLY Grimgor's campaign. So good.
With how diplomacy focused this looked it seems like the darklands are gonns be a new athel loren. Utter nightmare to cross
12:53 "Turning a warlord into a sla-borer."
Don't feel bad, we're all thinking the same thing. 😎
I cracked up🤣
This may be the first race DLC i feel is actually worth the asking price.
Specifically thanks to the effort and thought they put into the game mechanics.
Hope the Dark Elves get some of this flavor of labor / slave mechanics.
22:50 i mean this is a whole game in just 1 faction, this could be a whole Dawn of War game in the past.
dark elves used to have this kind of mechanichs for slaves in tww2, in tww3 they rip it off
I thought tomb kings was very much worth it.
27:37 The Lord that leads the Servants of the Conclave is Ghorth the Cruel, cool to see him included
I'm loving everything about the Chaos Dwarfs, style, mechanics, terminology, colors, every.damn.THING!
Im so glad they have the caravan mechanic. I was wondering how they will show trading with different chaos warlords for WOC.
Also I wonder how these mechanics will effect the Warriors Of Chaos or even the Dark Elves. People have been wanting a DE slave rework.
also something that i seen is that they dont have any population mechanic you strictly upgrade settlement tiers with raw materials so completely mitigated the dwarf problem of slow development of settlements
They are making chaos dawi into the most in-depth faction in total war
I love the complex economy, the chaos dwarfs might be my new favorite race now
Empire should have a 4 LLs DLC with many new units like the "Champions of Chaos" DLC and their rework should be of the same depth like Chaos Dwarves.
Everyone would buy. I mean literally. Its by far the most popular faction!
@@dhmossedios2194 never understood that like I kinda get why people like to play humans but when you can’t play as so many other things why would you choose the generic human faction.
@@ogretyrant8531 because you get the feeling of despair. There is no hope with so many monstrosities around. You have to survive the endless evil
@@ogretyrant8531 Because people are BASIC. Like people who play human fighter in dnd.
21:02-21:08 Astragoth just reignite his inner blood ball player fire from his youth.
Their campaign mechanics feel closer to a ''empire builder/manager'' simulator than most other factions. Love it.
I was thinking something similar to that when the Warriors rework was being announced and they introduced the new vassalisation. The idea that you can obliterate the leadership of a faction and "take over" without having to actual integrate them into your empire is something I wish every faction could do. The fact that theres no middle ground between total annexation and burning the entire land to the ground has always felt really jarring, especially with factions like Greenskins or Vampire Counts.
Sometimes when they introduce a faction specific feature, it can backfire and make that faction feel weakest in the area its supposed to excel (Skaven food mechanic and Brettonian peasants come to mind). Other times, they introduce a faction specific mechanic and it feels like it'd just straight up make the game better if everyone had it.
Would love to see some more Sportacus events with this new DLC
Is it weird that thing I'm most excited for is seeing how all the different factions play when the game is well and truly finished? Like all the mechanics changes that came with IE and WoC and the updates up till now and then the complexity of the Chaos Dwarfs mechanics has had me almost more excited for the potential of the other factions in the game than whatever is coming in any individual update.
Every update has me thinking "if this is what they're up to now, how cool is the stuff that drops _next_ update gonna be"
26:38 So the labor mechanic is 100% gonna be the framework for a rework of the Druchii slave mechanic when they get around to it right? The bones of the game 2 version of that mechanic are clearly visible here, but massively improved and adapted to the Chaos Dwarfs.
First of all, great video, thanks! Second of all, I find myself getting hyped for your reaction/breakdown videos more than the main videos themselves most times. Great job!
"Strong garrison" - all those 6 units of slaves lol! They gotta be trolling
If you look at the building browser when he first talks about wanting to get to Great Tauri, the building chain with the Daemon engines has three unit cards at the top tier, all with the dreadquake mortar picture (I assume the cards are just incomplete, as many are in the video). But because there are three units there (meaning two of them are unknown, since all the other Daemon engines are already accounted for in the building chain), I wonder and hope that it might be related to getting to have actual trains with multiple carriage weapons pulled by an Iron Engine or Skullcracker. In the same way, I really hope the train that you escort in the quest battle is an indication that they might be possible. Even if we just get one big train RoR, it's something absurd and over-the-top that I would love to see. Would be great even just as a Hell Forge mechanic, where you can spend a ton of resources to build trains and add them one at a time to your recruitment pool. But we'll have to wait and see
"See it, Slay it, Sort it" is a play on the Northern Rail slogan here in Yorkshire (see it, say it, sort it) - I creased over at that bit :'D
Teclis to Thorgrim: “short”
CA making Astragoth’s power armour: “and I took that personally”
The way that the Chaos dwarfs mechanics work is the way that the empire should be. There is so much that could be added like the zoo's of Altdorf, the cannon foundries of Nuln, individual counts having different mechanics in their areas such as the Moot, Ulricsburg ( everything cult of Ulric), all the other minor gods such as Taal, Mannon, Mor.. etc. The Empire for being the major good faction that it is, is REALLY over shadowed by the Chorfs right now!!
That escort mission gives me so much hope for the future of battle types within the campaign and future mods!
yeah, after Drycha's there was so much hope for new and interesting quest battles
and then Taurox and Oxyotl got boring ones
and then 10 of the game 3 launch Legendary Lords got boring ones (and Boris, Daniel and Be'lakor didn't even get any quest battles at all)
and then the 4 Champions got boring ones
nice to see that the Chaos Dwarfs finally get interesting quest battles like Drycha
I can already see Thomas the Tank Engine replacing the regular trainin escort missions.
They actually managed to make an escort mission fun
"strong garrison" got me fucked up
The Daniel meme is the best thing that came out of the Daemon's of Chaos as a faction.
"See it, Slay it, sorted" is riffing on the British Transport Police's "See It, Say It, Sorted" to report problems on public transport.
17:50 "Astragoth, Neightalie and their centaur children." So this is a canon couple, yes?
26:20 "See it, Say it, Sorted" is a slogan we have here in UK for British Transport Police- about safety on trains, buses and tube lines etc.
Man they look awesome, I know power/feature creep is inevitable for the new stuff but I'd love to see some modern updates to some older factions
Who doesn't remember the miniature box of chaos warriors: labourers to darkness... lol
Cant wait until i get this in my hand, but also until u get into u hands and we can see that first Lets play ;) Looks really nice
Can’t wait to watch the lore master nerd out while I’m going through a campaign. Makes the experience better :)
You missed Ghorth the Cruel! He is the ruler of Zharr-Naggrund.
Man I really wanted my legendary lord bull center
I REALLY hope there's multiple ways to stack unit caps for Chaos Dwarfs. I know its a lore reason, but it feels like a major handicap and detriment to just say "No no, you can't have many of the race you actually are playing". It seems like a frustrating gate that I am REALLY hoping is able to be circumnavigated at some point the more you conquer the world in IE.
Wow this is looking great. The Chorfs look like they will be so much fun to play
I do believe they were on a race on the rise, as opposed to decline like regular dwarves. Mostly due to canon fodder.
I sure hope we get Tordrek Hackhart for the Chaos Dwarfs in the future as he looks so sick and is unique with his ship
I feel like he could also work as a Vampirate, with some unique mechanic to access Chorf and Chaos units
@Da bestest Goblin' I'd rather him not be on the Vampire Coast roster as that's what a lot of people's grip with Aranessa Saltspite is about.
I do however hope that he gets a version of their pirate ship mechanic
See it, say it, sorted is a campaign here in the UK on the national network rail to do with crime on trains. I'm guessing they are connecting this with the trains of the chaos dwarves.
Duel Cannon tanks, huge mortars, mech suits, lever action halberd guns. This is what the dwarfs can do when they ain't scared shitless of new technology for a couple hundred years after it's invented.
Can't wait for the other legendary lords to get their own video
I think the Mecha-Suit is operated on Magma/Lava and not fire, so that may be why the "flame thrower" move is so much more vibrant and long lasting, Lava has a tendency to hang around longer then plain old fire does. In the Lore the more powerful Sorcerer Prophets are able to outright control the Magma/Lava, so it would make sense that Astragoth would be using it as a fuel/power source...
That or its Daemon Fire and he has Daemons bounded to his suit :p
the urge to collect and paint chaos dwarfs rises once again..
The tower of Zharr is in Zharr Naggrund and Zhatan the Black is it’s commander. He’ll probably start there
as someone who loves spreading corruption infantry and artillery i gotta say i think this is gonna be my new favorite faction hands down always loved them before but man they look amazing.
And their new slave mechanic is way more interesting then dark elves hope they get an update to dark elves down the line.
if this is any indication of what future dlcs are gonna look like size wise i gotta say i understand why the dlcs have slowed down even more for game 3 this if insane how complicated yet simple they look. they keep making me more and more impressed by these DLCs
i do wonder if Ikit knows the high priest himself considering how similar they are didn't really think about it but their suits are pretty similar as armor and advancing their physical abillities and both having a flamethrower now.
Going to be 100% honest and say the unit Cap is a massive issue. Mind you this is only if you can't easily increase it like with the tomb kings.
As late game your armies are going to be trash. As fighting high their units with expendable units. Is like trying to use skaven slaves. They are just going to die instantly.
They will definitly be ways to increase it
With how deep they have shown they can make an economy I wish they would go back and add some depth to other races
This looks great. I'd love to see this level of mechanics added to other factions too (DE slaves in particular).
Astragoth joins the ranks of absolute Warhammer Chads.
The train derailment in East Araby, while tragic, is in no way the responsibility of Naggrund Southern!
To be fair about that garrison, it's Tier 1 with no defences buildings built
I really hope that there is some of these mechanics spread to other Warhammer 1 and 2 factions that use similar resources materials and faction wide mechanics. 🤞🤞 On the vampire coast DLC getting finished, someday.
OMG I ALREADY WANT AN ECONOMY MOD FOR JUST DWARFS
I remain cautiously optimistic
They have skaven like occupy settlement at level x at 21:08 ish.
Words for the Algorithm God. Separate sentence for Algorithm Throne. Keep up the great work!
preordered with your link! Keep up the good work!!!!
So boris is not in uzkulak where is he
They got this one right. Very pumped
I kinda disappointed that there is no event about chaos dwarf train run over escaped Gnoblar village
Gorth is at the head of Zharr Naggrund so I really wonder if Zhatan is going to benefit from this in some way .
With the cannons, I'm thinking Wario.
I think the campaign mechanic seems like it will either be super fun and rewarding or just really frustrating.
I look forward to trying them out, I just hope they don't end up being too big brain for my caveman-intellect.
Tordrek captain of the black kraken could be a nice LL one day on another part of the map
17:13 I only hope that there are the ways to increase their 'recruitment limit capacity' in similiar fashion as Tomb Kings.
at 28:09 it says "you can increase recruitment capacity in the hell forge" the hell forge seems like another mechanic we haven't seen yet
Grimgor ain't gonna be conquering the entire Mountains of Mourn and the Dark Lands anymore. I swear every campaign he owns everything between Cathay and the World's Edge Mountains. It'll be nice to 1. Have a buffer to stop him. 2. It'll make my Grimgor/Greasus/Imrik/Tretch campaigns more fun. 3. I won't have to fight orcs for half my campaign anymore.
My man got the jumps!!
Astragoth is good jump! AAAHHHH
I would LOVE to see the conclave mechanic adapted for the High Elves and their political influence. The HE mechanic has always felt a bit bare tbh.
Great video!
As a greenskins player I love the greenskins laborer units but I prefer to see my boys running hog wild in a proper WAAAGH! which is why I hope they are getting some more content in warhammer 3.
I hope the unit cards aren't final. Look awful.
Edit: Confirmed by CA they aren't final
I asked the new Bing bot who would win in a fair fight: Angron or Sigmar Heldenhammer. The bot told me that this was a tough questions because they come from separate verses and the proceeded to explain the different combat styles. I set the scene as a bake-off and the bot agreed that Sigmar would win with his adorable croquembouche. All throughout that exchange I was not as excited as I was when watching the DAWI ZHARR FINALLY COMING TO TW: WH! I wanted them and the skaven and the vampires from day one. I now got everything from the game.
TRAINS ON THE BATTLEFIELD YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES
What annoyed me the most about the spotlight is at some point he is charging a unit with some Bull centaurs, and laments that cavalry should never charge into braced infantry, but he thinks they can take it with the support of some spells, but the unit he is charging is fucking goblin archers.
I am curious about how many slaves you lose each turn, and what affects it. Cause I can imagine that getting real annoying, real fast.
Sooo excited
iron hail gunner
chaos dwarf blunderbuss - the cooler iron hail gunner
They speak in dark khazalid? Make sense if they were isolated from their cousin aeons ago
They givin’ us Hotseat mode yet?
I think the labour greenskins units have so much health because they are maaassive mobs, many, many members.....like...140 for the orcs?
Sotek how well do you think Zhatan would stand against Ungirm ?
Dark Elves slave mechanic got dumbed down while Chaos Dwarves get this? Not fair
Is it just me or are the Chaos Dwarfs speaking entirely in Khazalid?
FINALLY
I miss settlement battles as well…
Dwarfs need something like the raw material stuff with a different twist,
Sounds like the music from Attila isent it?
I do hope the Dwarfs get some of these features added in for them like the books of Nagash for Manfred and Volkmar
I would kill for convoys.
At 27:38 I’ve seem on the diplomacy screen Ghorth the Cruel. Is he a secret fourth LL? Or a unique lord? Or just a random guy with its name?
It could be a Marius Lietdorf or Kazador Dragonslayer situation where there’s just a generic lord who is supposed to represent a named character.
might have some relevance with Zhatan the Black's campaign. perhaps a confederation or something.
@@ItsXodious Gorth’s faction does show up as one of the confederation factions at the top of the Tower of Zarr, so he can be confederated by anyone. If I had to take a guess Gorth’s capital is Zarr Nagrund proper.
@@InquisitorThomas Yeah, I thought so. Also I think the same regarding him and Zarr Naggrund. But I can still hope. Maybe there will be a surprise reveal, and the 3 LL thing will be just a “March Fool”😂😂😂
Basically a mix of both dark elf slave mechanics.
Wait no siege giant????
Lol, 1:31 "The Diciples of Hashut". Guess there were some last minute edits before they uploaded the video that weren't included in the file Sotek got
HYPE FOR THE HYPE GOD
So who’s the FLC?
Ulrika from Gotrek and Felix as a Legendary Hero for the Empire and Kislev.
Ulrika, a vampire featured in the Gotrex and Felix books. She hails from kislev and is a melee/range dualist similar to Luthor. Will have the lore of shadows and is recruitable to both the Empire and Kislev as a legendary hero
Dwarves: So... Multiple races are just better at the things we're supposed to be good at, but have none of the negatives we have?
CA: Yes.
While I definitely think that Dwarfs need some extra love they should still have a better frontline than the Chaos Dwarfs, since Chaos Dwarfs can only output a limited amount of actual Chaos Dwarf Units and can’t have a full stack of anything equivalent to Longbeards or Ironbreakers.
Its only my or units cards looks terrible
They’re currently using placeholder unit cards.
Oh okey, thanks for info
It looks a bit inspired by the way SFO and a few overhauls does things. To really utulize more of the factions unique resources and such. I like it, I have wanted a more trixy faction to play for a while. I suspect the unit limits might be increased trough more towers or buildings like in SFO. I cant wait to play them its my favourite table-top army.
Taurus is from greek, so it would be Tauruses, not Taurii, unless lore specifically says otherwise, because the writers didn't know how those words work. :)
