Impresario Mervyn Conn was responsible for staging the International Festivals of Country Music at the Wembley Arena, in London, for 23 years. The first festival was in 1969 with the final curtain falling in 1991.

In May of 1987, Emmylou had just turned 40. Mid-life and mid-career. It is now 2022. Emmy is 75. She has stopped recording but she still loves to sing live every chance she gets and she gets a lot of chances. She is still loved everywhere she goes.
She contributed a cover of Love Wore A Halo to the recent Nanci Griffith tribute album, More Than a Whisper.
It is a great album. Many, many really good cuts including Emmylou's.@@IndigoJo

When Emmy Lu came out to Nashville from California, the Country Queens realized they had some new and powerful competition.
Pretty tough to beat. I really love her interpretation of “Miss the Mississippi “, a song I first heard sung by the GOAT, Jimmie Rodgers. “Save the Last Dance for Me” is another other personal favorite and her version is tops in my book. Love you, Emmylou!
