Fly Tying World Championship Winning Flies: Luboš Roza's Dark Neon Euro Nymph

- The Dark Neon Euro Nymph from Signature Tyer Luboš Roza is an excellent fly that he fishes year round. He says, though, that it performs at its very best in the summer. The reason for this is that all of the materials are flashy, which Luboš finds is a great trigger for fish in the summer months. As he says, the fish don’t have hands, they only have a mouth. Because of this, if they want to try it, they have to bite it. This results in many hooked fish because they're so drawn to the flash. In his opinion, that's why attractor nymph patterns work so well! The other key to this fly pattern is the CDC collar, which is important for movement in the summer months. Again, Luboš finds this to be a key trigger when fishing in the summer. Since bringing it into our catalog it has become a staple
If you don't yet know him, Luboš Roza is one of the most talented fly anglers in the word. He's a two time Youth Fly Fishing World Champion, and holds the record for the youngest person ever to win an Adult European Championship at age 20. In 2014, he also became a World Champion, winning in the Czech Republic. He is also an excellent fly tyer, and fly designer. He is a true master of his craft. The tail is Angel Hair Lavender, and the wire is red copper wire.
No luck for me to find Angel Hair Lavender but it's been noted by other already

Actually, the link to the website doesn't include information on the tail or ribbing of the fly, as I suspect neither are items sold by FM. I remain in the dark.

Hey there! The hook, bead, dubbing and CDC are all linked in the description. The tail material is Angel Hair in Lavender. The wire is red copper wire .1mm. We produce this fly in sizes 16 and 18 with several different bead sizes, but I also tie it as big as a 12 and as small as a 22. Hope this helps!

Can someone help with the following ? Peacock dubbing - for thorax, it's bronze peacock. Then as a collar, he said "original" peacock spectra dubbing. Is this the "black" peacock, "bronze" he used for thorax or "green" peacock? It looks darker than the bronze on video. Thanks !

Can anyone suggest a good subsitute for the Angel Hair in Violet? it's pretty hard to find in the US
I can't find it either - planning on using some Flashabou Mirage instead. It has a similar pearl/violet with some blue sheen. If anyone finds the original tail material (Angel Hair #17 - please share sources).

Sybai do a Hank material that's perfect for the tail . It's the same colour .

I found some Sybai Angel Hair on Competitive Angler website but no purple/violet unfortunately - only a dark ultraviolet. I will keep looking but if you know some US suppliers, please let me know . @@stuartlittle1451

Classic wet fly imitation of fry or a crusty nymph. I think their attractor appeal has a lot to do with their resemblance to ie rainbow fry. People debate this, even when they can't tell me about the nymph that has a rose colored head....yet will also go on and on about how important color is.

I have to admit it. Lubos is click bait to me. Confident and humble. Practical. From carp to trout this guy is a winner. Bet he could come to the USA and be in the money at a B.A.S.S. tourney. Also a unique tying style.
