So many people seeing this as more than friendship, and I have to say…I agree. They constantly show them as a family (not general family, but as a singular family unit), they place them in romantic tropes, their storyline parallels those of other romantic couples on the show, and they have the most amazing chemistry. I hope they make them a couple, but if not, they really need to introduce love interests with explosive chemistry strong enough to be able to blow buddie out of the water. This is just an opinion. A brother in arms kind of representation. Or maybe it's to externalize the inner mental and emotional processes that make us grow... The audience's need to make this friendship a love story is understandable- but i don't see it in their body language.. Such a difference would take a whole season to build up if it's in the cards. But im quite content to observe something as pure and rare as a life-time friendship. I think it's less common than just plain old romance- as good as it may be!

As well as Buck decided he was going to "step in" to help Eddie which he learned in season 1 when Bobby taught Buck how to step a relationship but not overstep. It's ok for them to be in love with whomever they choose so please get off of the oh Buck and Eddie are straight mindset and see with your heart eyes and not your physical eyes.

I think the time to introduced that if they wanted to was in season 4 when Buck was going to therapy and looking for a meaningful relationship, or maybe in season 5 after Eddie realized there was just something missing with Ana, that he didn’t love her like he should. Those would have been the times to introduce even a hint of one having a crush, and they didn’t. So I think the time has come and pass and we’re just stuck with these 2 straight bros. But I do hope at some point they acknowledge that their bond is more than friendship, more than family even. They’re partners. Truly both in work and in life. Like even if we take all romance out of the equation, and say it’s just that bond you feel with family, then brothers would be the closest relationship similar to theirs. And they are closer than brothers, or at least close in a different way. I love buck. I love eddie and sure as hell I love buddie. But I've always felt that buck gives, gives and gives his everything to eddie but always receive little less from eddie in the show. (You know in fire truck explosion, embolism, LAW SUIT🥺, even in lightning). Just my opinion no offense to the writers of 911.
Eddie always supports Buck in everything. He always listens to Buck. And on top of that, he gives Buck the purpose to live by making Buck Chris' legal guardian in the will.
