  • Cathy Fallon was only able to save three of five dogs when the fast-moving Camp Fire swept through Paradise and razed the town in November 2018. She lost her home, two dogs and nine cats.
Fallon and her son Gabriel then struggled to keep feeding the surviving horses they stayed behind to protect from the blaze for five days on limited hay and without running water.
When the Fallons received a familiar evacuation warning on Wednesday asking them to prepare to leave their property on Edgewood Lane in anticipation of the Bear Fire's wind-whipped spread, they did not hesitate.
They rounded up their 13 horses and headed to the Camelot Equestrian Park in Oroville. Already living in an RV since the Camp. Fire, Fallon said the family's plan now is to leave Butte County for good.
