Wrong. Seperate each plant and propagate in seperate planters

This is exactly what I did. About 10 days ago, I bought two produce department basil plants. Each cup had about 20 distinct basil plants! Too many for the store's cup and still too many to grow together in the pot displayed.
With one plant, I rinsed the soil off as gently and thoroughly as possible and transplanted to hydro, or to a cup to root out. I've lost about 5 or 6 of the tiniest ones. All the rest are doing fabulous.
The other plant, I tried to separate and transplant to six 4-inch cups, and several went to the water glass for rooting. Unfortunately, the soil ones don't look as good, most of them I still expect to make it though. Issues are definitely from the contract with soil and water, so she's most certainly right about that part!

You need to separate out each individual plant otherwise it will really not grow.

They are just a bunch of tiny seedlings put together

@@choasisgoatedI definitely will try growing from seed next time, apart as you described 👍🏻 My main problem was that I would purchase grown plants from a nursery or box store and they died each time I brought them home

@saraa.ferrer2479 too much sun light can be a problem. You can also try adding mulch to keep in some moisture

I have several massively successful basil plants every season, if that’s bad then I guess I’m terrible!

@@Nikkieditionbut like why are you planting 2 million basil plants into one planter instead of separating them?
