Lyrics for new people getting introduced to this magic
Archaean horizon
The first sunrise
On a pristine gaea
Opus perfectum
Somewhere there, us sleeping
After sleeping through a hundred million centuries
We have finally opened our eyes on a sumptuous planet, sparkling with color, bountiful with life
Within decades we must close our eyes again
Isn't it a noble and enlightened way of spending our brief time in the sun
To work at understanding the universe and how we have come to wake up in it?
The cosmic law of gravity
Pulled the newborns around a fire
A careless cold infinity in every vast direction
Lonely farer in the Goldilocks zone
She has a tale to tell
From the stellar nursery into a carbon feast
Enter LUCA
The tapestry of chemistry
There's a writing in the garden
Leading us to the mother of all
We are one
We are a universe
Forebears of what will be
Scions of the Devonian sea
Aeons pass
Writing the tale of us all
A day-to-day new opening
For the greatest show on Earth
Ion channels welcoming the outside world
To the stuff of stars
Bedding the tree of a biological holy
Enter life
The tapestry of chemistry
There's a writing in the garden
Leading us to the mother of all
We are one
We are a universe
Forebears of what will be
Scions of the Devonian sea
Aeons pass
Writing the tale of us all
A day-to-day new opening
For the greatest show on Earth
We are here to care for the garden
The wonder of birth
Of every form most beautiful
Every form most beautiful
We are one
We are a universe
Forebears of what will be
Scions of the Devonian sea
Aeons pass writing the tale of us all
A day-to-day new opening
For the greatest show on Earth
After a billion years The show is still here
Not a single one of your fathers died young
The handy travelers out of Africa
Little Lucy of the Afar
Gave birth to fantasy
To idolatry
To self-destructive weaponry
Enter the God of gaps
Deep within the past
Atavistic dread of the hunted
Enter Ionia, the cradle of thought
The architecture of understanding
The human lust to feel so exceptional
To rule the Earth
Hunger for shiny rocks
For giant mushroom clouds
The will to do just as you'd be done by
Enter history, the grand finale
Enter ratkind
Man, he took his time in the sun
Had a dream to understand
A single grain of sand
He gave birth to poetry
But one day'll cease to be
Greet the last light of the library
Man, he took his time in the sun
Had a dream to understand
A single grain of sand
He gave birth to poetry
But one day'll cease to be
Greet the last light of the library
Man, he took his time in the sun
Had a dream to understand
A single grain of sand
He gave birth to poetry
But one day'll cease to be
Greet the last light of the library

The potential people who could have been here in my place
But who will in fact never see the light of day outnumber the sand grains of Sahara
Certainly those unborn ghosts include greater poets than Keats, scientists greater than Newton
We know this because the set of possible people allowed by our DNA
So massively exceeds the set of actual people
In the teeth of those stupefying odds it is you and I, in our ordinariness, that are here
We privileged few, who won the lottery of birth against all odds
How dare we whine at our inevitable return to that prior state
From which the vast majority have never stirred?"
There is grandeur in this view of life, with its several powers
Having been originally breathed into a few forms or into one
And that whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity
From so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been
And are being, evolved

I heared this song live in Mexico City. Nightwish in live performance is awesome!!!!
I have watched this video over and over and over again. Those sisters (i presume they are) in the thumbnail...the pure joy on the faces is absolute brilliant! Makes me smile every single time.
watching this i am so calm and so full of emotions at once. It's like extasy. Having this experience just watching, someday when i will finally see them live i am going to probably die because my heart will stop

I agree 100%!!! 💜💜💜💛💛💛
watery eyes, shaking your head in disbelief, goosebumps and dropping your jaw, is just some of the symptoms when you have been Nightwished and Floored.
I found this song again last year while recovering from an open hart surgery and cannot listen to it without a tear in the eye and a lump in the throat.....It is the meaning of life in a 20+ minute nutshell, sung by an unearthly good voice. Happy to be one of lucky ones!
wow... i just enjoyed this song so many times in the studio version, but this... omg!!!
this should be 10 millions views
I think it belongs to everyone and shoud be viewed by all... even those few rare who do not like this music. Is it some 7 MRD humans on earth ?

I am so thankfull for this Song.
4 hours ago, i lost my 3 year young son. 4 days ago He was a happy Kid. I am so in Love with my little Boy. I can not believe, that i Had to say good Bye forever. I am still in this Hospital. I am so afraid to come Home. Without my Boy. Maybe Dawkins will Help me. Its so much pain in my Heart.
Wow, Wow with some more Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow! hooked
Best show i have ever seen! Respect ❤️
The narrator's voice should have said 'and so, with this performance, life has lost all meaning. No more will our need for fulfillment through artistry be possible. For with this very performance, Nightwish achieved the pinnacle of greatness. We might as well all go home. Live out the rest of our sorry lives in depression. Where do we go from here. For, evolution of the human mind is now over.'
Dammit Richard. Go and re write the book!!
She´s absolutely amazing
Ich hoffen das Frau Floor Jansen noch lange bei der Band bleibt, die Frau ist einfach Klasse.
This is such an amazing song! It is a beautufull peace of art. And beautifull lyrics that give me Chills every time y listen to it.

Lo más hermoso que he visto en los últimos tiempo.
Coincido Jeyson . . . es una maquina de componer bellezas que nos estremecen . . . Magnificamente ejecutada por la mejor Banda de todos los tiempos . . . y yo ya vi unas cuantas . . . tengo 63 añitos !
Simply the definition of "Epic". Show this to someone who has never seen Nightwish and they will be a fan.
my personal anthem.and i usually dont like live performances..but this is something else, much more than music performance.this is art.
Volgend jaar anno 2020 dit optreden bij de Wereldhavendagen te Rotterdam zou geweldig zijn!!! Vuurwerk, Erasmusbrug en Nightwish.......
But was this really the greatest show i have ever seen on earth?
