    Arsenal have the right to offer over his market value and Brighton have the right to reject and stand firm. But ultimately they are gonna have a dull player in their ranks who might be regretting his decision if Arsenal go to the promised land.
    It'll be up to his mentality if he can forget about it and bounce back, most young players don't and if he doesn't, they may not get this value again. Uncomfortable conversations.
    But I hope for his talent and ability he can get a good move in the summer.

      Even if they keep him he will be doing everything he can not to get injured before the summer, he needs the money one bad tackle and its all gone. if he stays he will be a shadow of the player he won't be playing hungry.

      i think it's to Arsenak to go for it. We missed Mudryk, it's ok because there is other wingers. But this one is a top CM, you don't find that easily. Arsenal should go pay his transfer price. If it's 100, it's ok. It's simply a price for a Centra midfielder of that caliber. I'm not the type of guy that exagerate players, but i saw him at the world cup, and i saw him against top teams in the PL. He's mature in all aspects of the game in midflield and hardworking;.

    What’s the point of keeping him now given he’s made that statement?
    He won’t get this chance to go to Arsenal/Chelsea again as neither club will go back for him in the summer.

    As a Brighton fan I was happy enough to see White and Trossard move on but Caicedo is at a different level. He'll go this summer for more than 60 million and Seagulls will have time to pick up another star to replace him.

    Him and Kiwior will probably get the Europa League games and he will most likely get 20 to 30 minutes in League games depending on the situation of the games. Plus, he will get FA cup and EFL cup games next season. Also, if Arsenal are signing him for £70M, they will most likely find a place for him, as he can also fit in for Xhaka some times.

    Being an arsenal fan I do admit I hope we get him. I do think we need him for this season and it would also benefit him as we are doing pretty good in the league so far. He also wants to leave so if I was Brighton, I would try to get as much money for him but definitely let him go as now he probably won't perform quite as well for them as he has done this season. I also don't think Brighton will get as much as £70-£80 million in the summer for him.

    I am a Arsenal fan and Brighton should do whatever they thing and want to do. He is their player and as things stand I dont think anyone has crossed the line Caicedo has made it publically clear he wants to move which is fair enough as long as he gives everything if he is not able to move.
    Arsenal have made a massive offer and in my opinion Brighton will struggle to get that much in the summer with more options available. Were I Brighton I would plan some signings in the coming days using the Caicedo money and sell him once you have those deals in place. Brighton have one of if not the best scouting set up in the country and for 60 million they could likely bring in 3 or 4 top players.

    If this deal isn't happening I would want rice next season. Caicedo is fantastic at interception but I still doubt his decision making on progressive passes. 87% pass accuracy so he clearly has fantastic potential. Rice is a sure shot success though and another leader in the group that's massive for our champions league charge next season.

Most overhyped English midfielder of this generation. At least Jude Bellingham deserves the hype.       It was pretty clear he was saying no he can’t wait. Basically saying having the league leaders wanting to pay 60 mil or whatever for you is a rare chance in football. If he doesn’t leave and even slightly drops off, he’s no longer the shiny new youngster and Arsenal might have moved on to Rice or another CDM. Now maybe a lower team or a rebuilding team are interested instead too and they won’t pay you as much as arsenal who are desperate

      It’s not that easy. You can’t sign every player you’re offered. I learned that clubs are offered thousands of players so it’s not that straightforward.
      Plus it’s possible he wouldn’t have developed this quickly had he gone to a big club due to limited playing time.

      Could be many players that dont want to leave, but when club dont want you anymore they leave instead of not playing anymore and dont get to train with team.

    Brighton should be able to do what they want with him. Why should players throw their weight around when they don't get their own way. Sure he wants to progress all players do. But had someone said last year to him Arsenal want to sign you he'd of probably not made much fuss. Now that Arsenal are leading the title race things are different. In my opinion Brighton should not become a selling club to the bigger teams. They've got a good bases to build on. I suggest the lad sucks it up and gets on with his football at Brighton until they decide to sell him or his contract runs out.

    These moves don’t come across “once in a blue moon”. Arsenal are in a privileged position right now, but who knows where they will be come the end of the season. If they want him that badly, they will pay the premium now or still be interested in the summer.

    - Caicedo gets salary to change his life, and plays for one of the best sides in the country
    - Arsenal (or will Chelsea gazump them, again!) get a tremendously talented player, just 21, that could serve them well for the next decade.

    Also unlike Bissouma he’s coming into a team that’s playing possession based attractive football. Conte’s way of playing is what is suffocating Bissouma (who btw is still a baller) so it’s pointless to compare them both.

    i don't think Paul has ever seen a game of Caicedo. What is he talking about. He is way more than an holding midfielder he actually has great feet. He started his career as a number 10. And thats clear if you watch him play in my opinion.

    Agree with sherwood. Imagine if Arsenal lost, Martinelli, Partety, Ødegaard and Nketiah like we have lost cucurella, Maupay, Bisouma and Trossard in one season how would Arsenal feel? What if it eas derailing you chance for europe? Then someone came in for Saka for example? How would they react. If it was real Madrid doing the to arsenal, Paul Merson would sing a differnt tune.

    Surely there must be better options out there for that kind of money.
    I’ve watched a decent amount of his games and while he has a high potential ceiling, I don’t know if he is the ready-made swap for Partey..especially now that we are in a title race.
    Still very rough around the edges.
    Passing range, press beating, ball release time, are just a few aspects of his game that need to be polished before we drop him in a title race.
    But, at the end of the day, I trust Arteta and Edu.

      Conte and Arteta should not be in the same sentence in regards to coaching young players.
      Arteta clearly sees what he can make of Caceido and how much better he can get. Arsenal wouldn't be putting such a huge bid otherwise.
      But yes. Always a huge risk with this kind of money for a 21 year old. I think Chelsea will produce quite a few examples in 2-3 years.
