  • www.pct.edu/cad Pennsylvania College of Technology students prove they can make anything with PVC pipes and ingenuity! As part of his design and production class, assistant professor Dave Probst had his computer aided product design students devise and build quad cycles out of one-inch PVC. On this day, the students had a great time testing their designs in the real world.

Some very good designs here. I might have to use some as inspiration and build one out of steel tubing or something a little stronger and reliable. Would definitely put different gear ratio options as well.

They are cool, aren't they? Students designed each quad cycle so we don't have individual plans to share. However, the American Speedster website could be a good resource for you. Good luck!

This could be the future of short distant transportation, something to use in conjunction with a car as opposed to trying to remove the conventional car as it is. I have a four wheeled biketruck that has a steel frame but the body supporting frame is made from 3/4 PVC pipe, which will have coroplast sheet plastic screwed to it. It is running but I am still improving to it and fixing it to 100% completion.

Am building a two seat quad for my autistic son, and have a general idea for my plan. what I'm curious about, is the amount of weight they can take. The one clip showed, I believe 5-6 students on the on bike. which I'm assuming had to be in the area of 500+ lbs. if you have any data on the weight restrictions, and also vibration absorbtion of the pvc especially at the joints, I'd really appreciate any and all data
