    I think Phil is being mature and grown-up about this. He's not trying for full custody or taking Luna away from Nomi. He's not being threatening, he's being clear and upfront with her. Getting a third party such as a lawyer who will be up to date with the legal understandings of the relationship and custody of Luna will be able to be distant enough from the situation to think with a clear head. This is what they both need since it could quickly become an ugly battle between the two of them, where no one wins, especially Luna.

  • @Obi-Wan_Kenobi
    @Obi-Wan_Kenobi Před 2 lety +429

    I think this is very fair. Phil isn't being vindictive and trying to take Luca away from Nomi or anything but he does have certain rights as a father. He's taking a very measured and pragmatic approach to sort out this very tough situation.
    Nomi can't just go to Yale all by herself and take Luna. That doesn't seem fair to Phil or practical, it would be very hard to raise a daughter all by herself and it doesn't look like Phil can move with her. If her and Phil can sort something about to get dual custody and take turns with Luna, it sounds like that would be the best option for both Luna and the parents. It's not malicious to get a lawyer, it's practical. Nomi and Phil are not married, they are not even in a relationship, there needs to be some legal clarity.
    I see a few people jumping to blame Phil but he has done nothing wrong in these last few episodes. Nomi can't just move across the country without telling anyone until the last second, which she seemed intent on doing. She's not the only on who gets to make decisions for Luna and Phil is not the bad guy for getting some legal clarity into the picture. If you really want to play this game, Nomi could be framed as the bad guy for not telling Phil and trying to move his daughter away from him.

    Honestly, them getting a lawyer and hashing out a custody agreement is long overdue. I mean, while they both love Luna and are clearly civil enough to both be in each other's lives, they're never going to fully trust the other one. I mean, Nomi had Luna and kept her existence a secret from Phil for over a year. Phil doesn't fully trust her. Then Phil panicked and didn't want to be a part of Luna's life, so Nomi doesn't fully trust him. I don't think these 2 hate each other or that it'll turn that ugly, but this is long overdue.

Because the courts wouldn't just give him sole custody if they both are okay with Nomi moving Luna out of state. Right now, they are only going to court to formalized a custody arrangement where Luna is moved out of state with Nomi. I hope that they can work out some type of custody thing but I think it’s nice that he at least let her know so she won’t be blindsided. Of course I’ve seen video where lawyers suggest working things out outside the court first because these custody battles can get very ugly but if it’s a big thing like Nomi moving across the country then yeah your gonna have to do that, getting the courts involved. Like Judge Judy says “fathers are not second class parents.” I am glad he’s covering himself too because we all know that the courts are systematically more in favor of the mother. Far better to let someone who is an expert in the law work out the details necessary to establish each party's rights and responsibilities. Specifically, she told Luca before everybody else and they found out when she popped up at their housewarming party looking like she could pop at any minute. She got pregnant off a drunken one night stand with Phil. She decided that she was going to just raise the baby by herself and that was before she even gave birth. It had to take Ana looking up his name and contact info because she didn’t have ANY OF THAT. It also had to take Ana pushing nomi to talk to Phil because if I’m not mistaken, HE was the one who reached out to her. And she would’ve ghosted him. Exactly, why should Luna go and live with someone she doesn't really know that well? He should still be able to come and visit, but idk about long term living arrangements

      yeah but she also cant take her away from her dad completely if he wants to be apart of her life so i think a lawyer would help them come to good agreement

      Yea, because nomi is dislussional. She has these false narratives in her head and makes serious decisions base on something that not even happening. He need to protect his rights as a father because nomi is acting like she can just make all the decisions and he is just suppose to go along with it

      Before the lawyer talk ffs,once the law is involved it's a whole different game it becomes adverse that's why I always advocate for mediation ,talk first.

      @@blessingsbestowed2471 exactly like people acting like nomi is a saint person I don’t trust her and she can be petty and spiteful so he needs to protect his self to ensure he have Luna in his life for a long time.
