Also, not a crazy free agent signing but it's sad that Carmelo was 1 step away, his entire career! Even b4 Miami's Big 3, from Day One, the Detroit Pistons had a chance to draft Melo in 2003! Remember, Detroit had the 2nd pick right after Cleveland took Lebron but they picked Darko Milicic over Carmelo & just let Tayshaun Prince be their starting Small Forward! They went to win the Championship that 2003-04 season anyway! Damn man, it sucks to be Melo!!!

@@winter9242 Yeah, Bosh would've been a better fit but, the Pistons ended up trading for Rasheed Wallace in the middle of the season, which changed their entire season & team mentality & turned them from just a regular playoff team to a threat in the Eastern Conference to NBA Champions that year!
I don't think that happens if they drafted Bosh or Melo! Back then, who would've thought that Rasheed Wallace would've been the key/missing link to the success of the Detroit Pistons winning a championship! Nobody in their right mind would've taken that bet at that time, as it was happening! 😂😂😂

Giving Chris Bosh for Carmelo Anthony would have been a suicide.
Bosh was close to an ideal player, 24PPG 52% FG, and yet was willing to have a smaller role at the heat. Carmelo Anthony is a volume shoot, that didn't had 46% FG even once in his career.
He is good for the casual fans, but guys like him, Westrbrook, AI just not good if your goal is to win basketball games.

Kobe didn’t go to the bulls cuz he bulls would’ve had to trade the players Kobe wanted to play with like Deng I also heard about him wanting to go to the clippers
D rose would of been able to re-sign because bulls would have he’s bidding rights which allows a team to go over the cap to resign that players.
LeBron and D Wade to chicago would have been legendary with d rose, cuz d rose would never get that injury if he didn't have the ball the whole time.
Considering the Heat needed a full year for Lebron to reinvent his game (which brought on his increased shooting range and consistency) I cant see that big 3 working out at all for many reasons .
1. No "true" 2 - way grouping. Bron / Bosh / Wade made it easier to form lineups where you can have strong backcourts or frontcourt.
Bosh allowed a 2-way frontcourt where James could play undersized PF or oversized backcourt with Wade or supplementing with other players. Melo wasnt good defensively and even if he bought in, he doesnt have the mold where he would be able to control his defender as his defensive game was rarely around moving , so he would have to be a front court defensive player
Meaning James wouldve had to play strong side opponents and centers a good deal of the time . Because of that they wouldve had to play more minute to less offensively potent bigs, thus forcing Miami to lean on offensive minded guards like Ray Allen more.
This doesnt even include the fact that two-way guards aren't really cheap, and since you'd want one to run the point it be hard to lure that type of talent there without affecting the cap, which is why Allen taking a pay cut was SO BADLY NEEDED BY Miami then.
All these issues dont even include that you would essentially have 3 Wings who play great off the ball but are only consistent if the offense goes through them.
Having them on the floor all at the same time wouldve been hell, as ONE of them would have to be relegated to a ROLE position most of the time.
Bosh took that position during his time there as 90% of his greatness came without needing to drop 30 points a game. His defense, his passing skills , his ability to crash or fade after screening , his post up threat making his back cuts easy maneuvers, his range allowing him to space his defenders away from the hoop... he could EXIST and Miami's offense would thrive from him.
Did he hurt his HOF chances playing #3 guy? Kinda? It did show when Bron left that Bosh was really a victim of a lack of shooting volume but then his illness really put the breaks on a pretty damn good career.
Anywho, The NBA probably has a future in store for 3-winged offenses and we might be seeing success from that format sooner rather than later.
But to roster 3 HOF to share shot volume when each player characteristics mimic each other with little supplemental value without the ball?
Wouldve been tragic and wouldve accelerated Brons argument being under Jordan. Merely for the fact you allowed this dude to be GM and direct doom of his own legacy if he got that wish

Hold on, Anthony plays the same position as James. In Miami, they needed a center, not a forward.
Why when talking about Wade-James joining bulls you talked that D-Rose would have got injured as he did, but Durant joining Celtics would have left Thomas not getting injured? James and Wade would have lightened the load on Rose and he probably would not have been injured in 2011. Sure Rose would not have been MVP but that's a small price to pay for him not get injured.
