Varadkar came back to Ireland after St Patrick's Day just long enough to make his resignation speech, tell a pack of lies about how much he did for his country, then he jetted off to Brussels to try his plush new MEP post/office on for size.
What concerns me now is his successor, who openly state his loyalty is first to his party, and secondly to the Irish people.
So the Irish people come second in his role as the leader of our country now, while he does what his party and the EU demand, while ignoring, as Varadkar did, the needs and demands of the people he will now be "leading."
All that's happened here is one puppet has been forced to step down, and another puppet appointed in his place.

We have a lot of those in power these days. A few come quickly to mind, but the list would be endless if I thought about it. Canada's Trudeau comes to mind. Varadkar was from a minority group in a couple of ways, so perhaps this gave him a boost into the top job. Obama's election win made the US voters feel good about themselves, but he was a rotten and useless president.

To be fair, it was the entire Irish political establishment. As they noted in the video, _all_ the parties have lined up behind this woke, globalist, open borders agenda. The Irish people could vote these clowns out, but who among their politicians could they elect that would be any better? I see no party that is representing the populist sentiment that is growing, and which was represented in the recent referendum.
I went to grad school in Ireland in the early 90s. I absolutely loved it there, and I was planning on retiring there in a few more years. I'd intended that for decades. I don't plan to anymore, because the Irish political elite are ruining Ireland. Between ratcheting up immigration to levels beyond what the population of Ireland can assimilate, and the honestly frightening proposed hate speech legislation, and the rest of the top-down, Brussels-imposed sort of governance that they Irish political elite seem eager to embrace, it's not the country I remember, nor is it any longer one I'd wish to live in.
What strike me as all the more tragic is that a century ago, the Irish finally achieved independence after hundreds of years of foreign rule. The descendants of those men are throwing away that independence after having it for less than a single century.

We, the Irish fought long & hard for our land, our rights. And now, this woke, gay government just want to hand it over to illegals because of woke Brussels. Varadkhar is a total hypocrite. He wanted to change his constitution to include durable relationships as equal to family, to reduce the role of women by reference to those durable relationships and being a gay man who claimed he was in such a relationship himself then was caught out by journalists as meeting up with and having a relationship with a much younger man behind his partner's back in the literal sense? So his durable relationship ended up in infidelity and neither he ,his partner whom he betrayed or the young man he was involved with turned out to be either durable or a family. They turned out neither to be in durable relationships and definitely aren't a family. Total hypocrite. So what now? Off to the feeding throughs of EU I imagine. By the way as an old Irish republican who engaged in the conflict for 30 years I regard my nation as now occupied by two foreign powers undermining the will of the people rather than one in the north. Now we have England plus EU in the north and EU in the south we need both gone. Once that happens we Irish can decide what we want ourselves, we are still not free and it looks like we might have to buckle down and continue fighting for at least another hundred years but neither you English or Europeans should worry about that because we haven't gone away. It's the war of flea we can't kill the dog but we will exhaust it and make it lie down and slowly we will get everything we want. Sinn Fein is a disgrace but the IRA has always been betrayed by it's political wings nothing new in that. Fianna fail, finna Gael, Sinn Fein none of them ever fought for the Irish people only themselves. The army is different it is the people and as I've said we haven't gone away.

Exactly, so correct and well explained. FFG have been total sell outs and traitorous to the country - more worrying is that the party that purports to be pro Irish Republicans (with the literal translation of the Party name as "Ourselves") are the biggest sell outs of all. While many talk about Mary Lou as a political opportunist, if that was in fact the case she would embrace Irish nationalism but she has taken a pro EU migrant stance in every case. Not least of this is her support of the recent referendum - which goes against just about every core Irish value. For 800 years we fought for freedom - we got it for 26 Counties and had it for 100 years - now these EU Federalists are literally handing it over with nonsense reasoning such as "our obligations". Obligations to whom exactly ? The EU, the UN, the WEF ? These are mostly unelected bodies, yet treasonous politicians such as Varadkar, Martin, Coveney, Harris and Mc Donald genuflect at their dystopian altar. Anyone thinking that Simon Harris is the answer will quickly wake up to reality - this is a man who was elected on the 15th count in the last general election.

@stephenelkington4971 when it comes to treason we have a definition so tight only a traitor would disagree with it. What is it one power does to another when it conquers it in war?
First thing they do is replace the system of government, then the system of law, then the constitution.
Britains system of government was replaced by the EU commission and Parliament. Our common law was being replaced by EU law, and our constitution was replaced with the treaties of the EU.
That's called treason. Traitors never consider themselves traitors. They always say they betrayed their country because it was best for the country, the economy, the people, for world peace. Do those arguments ring a bell?
