- How to prevent nasty edges when using basic latex paste prosthetics.
In this episode we check out how to hide those nasty edges and getting your colours to math up better with your skin and prosthetic. It’s a very simple tutorial and should be easy for even the beginners to follow along with.

Elli's brow game getting stronger 💪
yeah! Im growing them out hehe ;)
“We found a random lube here in the studio”
🤣 love that
That is awesome! I really wish you had went over the very edge of the latex with a little acetone to melt that tiny visible line. (Acetone will only work on latex thats as thin as in this video. Any thickness whatsoever and the edge wont blend that way)
How would you do this? On the skin?
@@mikaelacerro4354 yeah, the tiniest bit on a q tip rolling away the edge
@@steeliahmann3276 i tried it and it didnt worrkkk
Thats an amateur move IPA 99% WORKS
I’ve been researching for Halloween looks and came across your channel and omg I’m in love! No where near the skill level but the instructions are so simple and I’m hoping to scare the hell outta my kids with this one 🤗🤗🤗
You should make a video for really fast and easy prosthetics
Tristan Pishnak yes i love this idea because I am so busy with kids and my job I never have time to make a prosthetic
How is this not really super fast? haha! Takes 5 min to throw together, 10 sec in the microwave, slap it on your body, paint, done :D
@@ellimacssfx it does appear quick to make for someone of a reasonable skill level but for someone who may only play for halloween I'm guessing it would take longer. I just watched your video on the different textures using different flours and I'm tempted to give it a go. I impressed people at the local Halloween event when I've only been doing it for under a month and really only dabbling on the weekends. But for now I'm relying on latex to stick it down as I don't have any other fixative to use and I'm working with what I have.
She has the best eyebrows I love it
Please come to Hamburg, I really want to take part in one of your workshops 😍
The effects are very good, of course, with the beautiful model they are better
I hope you can teach a workshop in the States soon. I would love to attend that

Ellie, which color palettes do you recommend for the most versatility with alcohol activated paints for skin tones and wounds?
love it
She's so good at what she does
Awh thank you so much!!
@@ellimacssfx welcome 😊😊

Looks interesting (will watch AFTER I finished lunch 😅)
you are amazing!
Do a class in Texas! Or at least near us 😁🤞🏻
Awesome
So cool !😍😍😍
thank you!!
I'm really happy that u found a way to make the edges invisible!
Right!! Me too, like why havent I tried that before?? :D
Yeah I use prosaide for applying prosthetics but never put it on the edges 😂
WOW.. So Cool LOVE IT!!!!?
yah!! Bloopers!! Love bloopers!! Great work!! I don't like the sight of blood, but cause I know this is fake and only FX make-up, i was fine.
Thanks for the awesome tutorial in the first place. As you've mentioned this pros aide I have a little question to that...I did understood that there's a difference to Mastix/Spirit gum but I guess one can use that as well to stick the prosthetic to the skin, right?!
You can use spirit gum, yes, it's just not as strong (which means, for example, if you want it to last for a long time/all day, it likely won't.) It also doesn't hold up to heat all that well.
Amazing work, I'm so impressed by the way Elli made it, I watch your work for years and wow, I can't believe how many things changed, all the techniques, wow.
Amo troppo ❤️😍
You should do a class in NY !!
Hello! I have a question : do you think this kind of prosthetic can work for a knife wound? Thank you for reading :)
These are awesome
thanks!!
ellimacs sfx makeup I’ve been a subscriber for a really long time and you guys have inspired me to cosplay like seriously I love your work! Keep it up
really amazing♥
Thank you
MY MOUTH JUST DROPPED ABOUT THE MICROWAVE! WE CAN DO THAT? OMGGG GAME CHANGER
can i stick the prosthetic on using more liquid latex if i don’t have adhesive??
Hello Guys, just found your chanel and it awsome! I'm pretty exited to see your next video! ^^
And do you maybe have some tricks about adding fur to your face? I want to do a horror version of Sora (from Kingdom Hearts) in his Monsters Inc. Version and just dont know how to put so much fur on... :)
Can you do a tutorial on how to make a "slit throat" that you can cut to bleed like the ones in the Ali Gordon workshop??? Or do any bleeding open wounds you can cut and it bleed?
The workshop sounds amazing!
Too bad it would be pretty expensive for me when I consider the flight to there, accomodation and other costs :/
But maybe someday on a different workshop!
Mielikkiii Same goes for me! It's too far away... sadly
do you need prosaide or can you just use liquid latex ?
Sooo I had a question. Can I put a face cast in the oven to cure or microwave??
Would spirit gum work instead of pros side for this?
Omgg ellie is back
Yes I am :D
Nice
What flour and latex are you using. Because whenever i try to mske latex paste, it end up very thumpy and has lotsnof droed chunks and my prosthetic dont look good or real
What is the difference between alcohol activated paint and acrylic/oil paint?
I love the intro "Go grab a pillow" lol
Does this is only on dublin? What about usa?
Love
If you're allergic to latex, what can you use instead?
This looks so awesome. So many prosthetic tutorials use silicon and moulds and I’m way too broke for that lmao.
This is a great cheaper and faster option :D
What type of liquid latex do you use?
I LOVE how little blood they use for that size of wound. 😂😂
Qual é o material usando pra fazer a massa
ungefär hur mycket latex använde ni tiill denhär?
Простите, чем смазываете края латексной накладки ? Так же жидким латексом ? Чем делаете загущение ?
Girl you pretty
Awwwwwwsome
I like the Bloopers keep them please!😁😂
heheh
Do I have to microwave it
yayyy
So cool and creepy :D
Are these reusable?
😍😍
Buenas
Can you make carnage
She is beautiful.
👏👏
Algum brasileiro por aqui pra me indicar uma marca de skin adhesive ? Eu nem sei como chamar isso em português.
Holy crap!!! Now you got me caught in a dilemma... Cancel my wedding and going to Dublin... Hmhmm... Hard choice here
How do you get the pros-aid off?
Remove with isopropyl myristate on a fluffy brush or q-tip. Coconut oil will also work but may take a little longer 👍
me gustaría que para el millón de subs le pusieran sub en español para a aquellos que no entendemos bien el inglés kisses
Concuerdo, tengo que estar atinandole a todo jajaja
I dont mind gorr at all except for when they slice the neck😂 it just is all ewlllalal for me
So she just hid the harsh edges on her left side with her hair and shirt? What a pro. And here I was thinking I would get some actual tips about fading edges on latex prosthetics.
It was cool 😎 you should do a prank 😂
I tried this but it floped. My latex past gets really lumpy so i ruins the edges. What am i doing wrong?😩
When you tried smoothing the edges did you dip your finger or tool in fresh latex? It stops it sticking according to another video. If it was still too lumpy maybe there was too much flour? Worked with it too long so it started to firm up before you laid it down?
