    One tip I would like to add - Try using your Go both with and without the spacer inserted. The spacer is included for people that wear glasses to move the lenses a little further away. I wear glasses, and inserted the spacer when I first got my Go before even using it for the first time. It worked just fine, but I later saw a posting about someone that didn't wear glasses, and got a better viewing experience from using the spacer. It got me thinking about what would happen if I removed the spacer, and I found (for me at least) that wearing glasses and not using the spacer was a better viewing experience. So my tip would be, if you wear glasses or not, try using the Go with the spacer and without to find which is the best viewing experience for you.
    And I know there are prescription lenses you can buy for the Go for those wearing glasses. I haven't got around to investigating those yet. I want to get to an eye doctor first and get an updated prescription (it's been a few years).

    Couple of points - to change your environment, just go to Library -> Environment and pick one. No need to go through the tutorial.
    When removing the facial interface, if you struggle to get it back on, the pieces of plastic that surround the lenses which the facial interface tucks under actually come off. So, if you struggle to get the interface back on, just remove the two plastic surrounds, put the interface in, and then clip the plastic surrounds back on top.

      You can share what you see on Oculus Go through live streaming it to your facebook account. If you don’t want any of your friends to see it, just set it for only your account. After your done, just delete the video from your facebook account.

    • @brettcameratraveler
      @brettcameratraveler Před 6 lety

      Yeah but if you pick that method there is a long delay vs real time and also the resolution is lower than even SD. Vysor doesn't have any of those issues. I did find that even my gaming setup had trouble hitting the potential full frame rate and resolution options.

I’m looking at this for watching movies and videos, my question for you is, does the fov feel as big as the htc vive or is it noticeably smaller? Small fov is the biggest immersion breaker for me personally. Thanks!

    I think it may unofficially support fast charging. I haven't really got a point of reference as I have never tested it plugged in after it overheated when I left it to charge on day one (though I have seen many claim it takes about 3hrs to recharge), but I got a Sandstrom Gold Series 20100mAh power bank and I can see it charging quickly as I use it with it plugged in to that (it does fast charging if your device supports it). Mind you it could be because its does up to a 3A charge, and even though it says 2A in the Go manual, 3A may charge it quicker. If you have something 3A charger hanging around, like a Raspberry Pi 3B/+ PSU, and/or a fast charger for the phone like comes with high end Samsung phones, it may be worth trying them to see if it charges faster than the 2A slow normal charge.

It took me a while to be able to do first shooter in my Skyrim game, but I tried with my Oculos GO - bought different apps and stuff..., just couldn't make it work for me. I am so disappointed - I have waited and waited for an affordable VR that I could use. I guess I won't bother with the Skyrim VR.... Sad. :(

    • @Truthveyor
      @Truthveyor Před 5 lety +1

      You may already know this. The motion sickness is a problem with all VR devices, not just Oculus Go. It's caused by the body thinking it is moving, but actually not moving. This is like sea sickness. Some people have it; some people don't have it. The good thing is that after you get used to it by playing only 15 minutes at a time or something like that for many days, you become immune to this motion sickness, just like people can get used to be on a ship.
      Another thing to know is that all Oculus Go apps comes with a Comfort Rating. The game with the rating "Comfortable" are much less likely to cause this motion sickness feeling. So, if you are likely to experience motion sickness, start with "Comfortable" apps.

    I already own a gear vr but my vr sessions are limited due to my Samsung S8 over heating and so I was going to a buy the oculus Go. Will I have to repurchase all my games/apps or will I just log into my oculus account on the Go and my purchased content will download/appear?

    Hey Mike. Thanks for another wonderful show which helped completely with pairing my SteelSeries controller with the Go amongst many other tips I needed. This also gives me a chance to request some info from one of your previous videos and hope you can help me. I just recently purchased a basic interface set with Red interface replacement from vrcover.com and have been notified that my order is dispatched and en-route however I have also been informed that they do not make the Red interface anymore and a black one has been sent instead which honestly defeats the object of my personal design requirements. However in a previous video you mentioned you personally spray painted your interface blue to which I am quite capable and my question is can you please give me the color code or name of the shade of blue you used which would save me a lot of time trying to discover the right one to match yours. Also did you use an acrylic or enamel based spray paint? Cheers and I hope you can help with my question. Regards Mike []-)

      Hey mate, strange that they've stopped doing the red. I liked that it made the Rift stand out. Shame. I don't recall the colour code of the blue I used? It was a matt light blue. The brand I used was Plasti-Kote which is made for plastics, just ensure you give it a light sanding all over first and use a Plasti-Kote primer []-)

      Virtual Reality Oasis Thanks again Mike that's great info as is you channel and production. I amongst other things really like the reminiscent of Ready Player One intro using the Vive and Oasis logo on the side straps which look really cool and another design I'd like to steal off you Lol. In regards to the color code this is not a prob and I know B&Q have a large selection of Plasti-Kote colors and I'm sure I'll find it there. Also I'll make sure to use the Plasti-Kote Primer also so cheers for your time and recommendation/information. Have a great evening and I look forward to your next video. Mike 😀

    And can i install apps in my oculus go as i do in my android phone? Please...

    Great video. Dumb question: just got one... I have my home screen set to the “beach” background.... what’s the easiest way to clear ALL menus and just see the beach? Or can you recommend a good app that has live VR video of scenes like that so I can just have the most simple VR experience of feeling like I’m elsewhere without a bunch of menus in front of me? Thanks!

    even better tip! Turn on the Oculus Go FIRST, then put it on and grab your usb link cable and blindly search for the hole and connect it. Then choose "allow" in the headset. A lot of times when you connect it first then turn it on, it does not detect your computer.

    Hey, something I just found out. Plex will play 180, 180 3d, 360, 360 3d videos!! I tested it and it's awesome!! You should do a video on that!!! I run some on youtube but sometimes the stream buffers a lot. But running locally it's FANTASTIC!!! And in FULL QUALITY!! I was already using the Plex VR app to watch my 3D movies on the GO, QUEST and RIFT S... But now! Woohoo! It is the best way I have found to play ANY local content...

    Another Oculus Go Tips: You can transfer your videos to your headset directly from your media server. Simply go the gallery, and you'll see your local media server (I'm personally using a very basic SMB server generated by my home router). In gallery click the [...] icon and download the movie. You'r now ready to take your movie anywhere. Note that you can also watch them directly from your network without downloading anything when you are at home ;)

    Still have to careful with that strap when its charging though as it still switches it back on. I have tried the recommendations I have seen from others but its still gets switched back on if that sensor is tripped when its recharging, flipping the arms up and leaving it face down is the only thing that reliably solves this from happening and getting an overheat warning for me. Seems like an android thing, even if your phone is switched off, it partially powers on to show its charging, so no surprise that this does it as well, its just that this also has something that can trigger it to turn on completely as well and keep the screen on.

    Can I use any bluetooth controller? I just bought a used Go and it wont pair with the controller it came with, nor do the volume buttons work to select the screen option like people say. So basically I can't do anything with it

    Hi a guy on youtube shows using a 40X20mm fan to cool down the oculus go when it gets too hot. I bought the fan but the only thing i did not like is that he used magnets to hold it onto the oculus face. So I'm into 3d printing and just made a Fan Holder that you just clip on and easily take off. If this is something you would be interested in, let me know. I could put up the link for people. thanks

    Do you happen to have a solution for the wretched problem of the controller locking all movement to forward (instead of sideways or back)? I can't find anything on the web, other than replacing the controller, which is a pain. =)

    Silly question, I found your video via my recommendations and I'm quite interested in VR - also happen to own a Vive and Lenovo Explorer myself.
    Sadly, there aren't really any standalone VR HMDs here in Europe other than Oculus devices.
    Can I somehow use the Go without Facebook?
    I mean... it's basically an Android device anyway.
