Factos, i have never enjoyed an online fps game so much before
There is something wrong with it, people are OBSESSED with player counts. I’ve slowly watched this “game is dying” narrative spring up over the past few months out of seemingly nowhere. All while people leave the game because of it. It’s a self fulfilling prophecy.
The game has a lot of players still, 20k in the past 24 hrs on steam alone is nothing to scoff at. But everyone is so obsessed with player numbers because of games like Fortnite, that 20k is apparently a “dead game”
The game is really repetitive. Theres really only 1 game mode so after a few games it gets really repetitive. Apex is repetitive as hell but at least that game has a few other modes to play. There's nothing to do in the game at all. I played it for 1 day and got bored after a few hours.
@@BarakaTheGreat True, the game is still going strong and 20-30k concurrent players is more than respectable, especially since there is also a healthy console player base. I think the skepticism also has much to do with the (relative) lack of Twitch viewership, which has become synonymous with success when it comes to competitive FPS games. Supporting streamers and scouting big names willing to give the game a spin seems like a good marketing trajectory for the folks over at Embark and Nexon at the moment.

@@mrstoopid7855the easiest way to fix it. Pc has to play through Xbox PC app to play only. You cant cheat that way, steam is needed to cheat. Console is becoming a small pc now. I own both. Leave pc as work stations and in the past. Play Xbox pc app and just console then boom no cheaters. Leave steam players in their own lobby’s, gg

Of course you gonna have fun in a stack of 3 stomping teams of randoms. The worst game in the world can be fun with friends. The game is trash. The heal beam glitch was never touched through 3 patches now. You can only mute your party for some reason, and the servers are trash because I’ve been getting shot around corners ever since I started playing this game

The Finals is doing bad with player retention. If you completed battle pass, you have 50lv career you have nothing to do at all. You can either grind weapon mastery, either play ranked with sweaty players and cheaters.
Don’t get me wrong, I love this game to the bottom of my heart, I’ve never had that much joy playing FPS competitive shooter. We need to protect The Finals
I love how fast it was to max unlocks, max level, and max bpass.
Working towards maxed all unlockable cosmetics is a satisfying grind
Working towards diamond 1 mostly solo q I find near impossible for me but I’m enjoying the journey.
I have the most fun in the game when I play casual with my trio using all hammers+charge or cop cosplay riot shields or snipers only.
Yea I'm kinda at that spot right now. I wish there was more stuff to grind towards. Like there's still 5-6 weeks worth of weekly circuits but all that XP literally does nothing for me.

That's modern gamings problem, everyone is acustomed to grinding toward something instead of just playing for fun. We were all groomed to see gaming this way because that's how the companies want us to be. You'll only realize that when you actually take a step back and analyze everything.
The cheating situation is so bad overall now. People even cheat In Duolingo just to be on top of the leaderboard 💀

The finals isnt dying the main reason its losing players is because casuals dont want to play against sweats and the game is pretty much nothing but sweats and cheaters so its a massive turn off

I 100% agree with you. If the finals dies, the entire fps genre dies for me. Like I love how people can flame the finals and then go over and try out xdefiant and say that it’s new and intuitive when it’s literally just a copy and paste of every other COD like shooter out there.

Me and my friend were talking about the finals about a month ago about its state, about how the devs are actually awesome and idk why the community and streamers hate them when they're pushing updates and the seem very passionate. I've played games where theres issues that dont get fixed until a month into the new season, or the bugs will stay in the game for a year, and the devs just don't care, but Embark changed out majority of the issues the community complained about. We agreed the devs aren't the problem, the player-base just wants to complain and complain, Embark deserves a better community.

They should include patch notes in the game straight after the update so when returning players log back in or when active players log in they can see all the patch notes in the game rather than opening google or checking discord.
Since the game's very recent release, they have dropped TONs of new content: new game modes, a new map, revamped ranking system, items, storefront, challenges, soundtrack, hotfixes and balancing, AND TWO battlepasses. Alongside keeping an active community and updates via their CZcams channel. I find it wild when people say "they are doing bad with player retention"

Idea of a game mode:
Goal: reach $50,000
- 3 teams (of 5)
- 1 kill earns $1,000
- 15 min per round
- No respawn time
Special features of the mode:
Bonuses of $5,000 appear one by one (like cashboxes) during the game.
The players have the choice or not to take them.
If a player takes it he must survive 1 min with this bounty, and his position is revealed.
However, if a player from an opposing team kills him, he recovers this bonus instantly and the 1 minute timer continues.

I think most maps are too big for this. The fact that you have to fight for an objective makes it so that the size of the map doesn't really matter cause everyone is at the same spot. But maybe make maps a little smaller, and it must be possible
Laws change with the times and need to adapt.
As gaming becomes and increasingly larger part of our society there needs to be legislation passed to reprimand cheat developers or consumers.

i love this game, but i like more dark and realistic (sort of like war or special ops) shooters, so i've just been playing r6. it helps when someone like jynxzi provides r6 stuff everyday and maybe u could revive this game like he did to r6

Even I noticed this trend, and I asked a few people I know in my village about the effects of Covid on public nighttime, and they told me a lot of people stopped coming outside and it changed the state of the village at night. So many people started staying inside instead of going outside. Though, to be honest, I was never really social prior to Covid as well, because I'm very much fine not talking to people for months if I pursue some cool new hobby, so this was new for me to hear. But anyways, I was thankful for them giving me information about the effects of Covid that I have been researching in my village.
I have been putting so many hours into the finals It’s been really fun I love the customization and earning and unlocking by just playing is great. I just hope the game doesn’t die it seems like it could be unbalanced but I love the chaos

It's really hard for fps games nowadays to get new players behind a pay wall, I am a victim of that myself.
We can only hope the devs are gathering data and are just training software to detect the cheats for a massive ban wave, or a cheater shadow ban.
@@arcionek its a sad dilemma, the game launched f2p so you can only double down. Its just the business model of the genre becoming so prodeminately f2p being the biggest reason why every game is getting rampant cheater problems with billion dollar companies resorting to packaging anti-cheats with games as kernel software. Theyre gonna be stuck chasing this dragon for god knows how long, it will happen as long as the barrier of entry is making or stealing a different steam account with no additional cost.

About the balancing topic, l think that Embark could lean into the whole game show aspect by having two divisions: the first where it’s only ranked tournament with that initial week 1 balancing for the whole season, and another that’s more casual and gets the weekly updates to shake it up
Man I love this game so much, it’s been an absolute blast to play these past few months, hopefully it doesn’t die but the first pvp game I loved was Evolve and it died horribly due to it requiring communication and this game really does need a trio, don’t necessarily have to talk, but u gotta compliment each other to really hit that sweet spot of fun
My point still stands if there isn’t 13 big ass streamers making tiktoks about this fucking game no one is interested, if it doesn’t have a super competitive esports team it doesn’t matter. if the player count is under 30k it’s dead. ppl complain about the same game but aren’t willing to try something new for more than a few days
Those players have all escaped due to bad balancing (Nuke not nerfed for 2 months) and no fix to cheaters.
I mean it's not a matter of people not wanting to play something new/different, 250000+ players played in beta. It dropping ever since clearly shows people don't like it.

That’s because heavies are kinda made for teamplay they need other character movement options because there so slow so if your team isn’t playing around you your always behind the fight but if your played around you become a powerhouse that entire fights have to revolve around
I believe that what is happening with The Finals will also happen with XDefiant, or any other new FPS. The point is that there are other FPS that are already consolidated on the market, and even though these games are not having a good time with their community, companies know how to bring them back. I'll use my example, I'm a Battlefield player, and EA/DICE knows that if it delivers at least a BF4 experience, the community will return to playing, and this example applies to COD, Warzone, Apex, etc. So I believe that Embark will need to be very cautious, and follow the plan so as not to spend money in the wrong way.
One of the main problems for me with this game is the gun play. It just feels clunky an inaccurate. Not to mention that they keep nerfing the already hard to aim guns to the point where they are complete ass, or just leaving the unused guns to collect dust with no buffs. They need to adjust visual recoil and gunplay in general.
Yeah this trend of every single game having MW19 weapon animations and screen shake harder than the earth quakes in turkiye with every single motion is pure brain rot. like all motion sickness affected people can not play shooters.

if your looking to have fun and dominate you can, if you are looking to challenge your skills and play with those worst you can.
If you can see people at all ranges with invis on, what is the point of the invisibility? It's in a fine state right now, and if anything the last nerf was too harsh, especially for anyone running light in ranked.
Responding to your gym thing I am a kid, yes I am but this will give you input from a kids perspective
I swim 9 times a week and am a medalist in qld swimming. I just do light PT once or twice a week to keep my body fit I’m not strong but I’m light. I a can do more pull ups / push ups than anyone else in my grade. I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO THE GYM. All my friends have but not me. I have 1 jacked friend that is being scouted for the Australian rugby team, and he goes to the gym 4 times a week. I see these jacked kids on tic tock that can only be on steroids or be going to the gym to much, while the kids do not understanding the side effects on your body from working out and taking steroids at a young age. My jacked friend sees the physio every week to make sure he is ok. It’s just stupid that these kids think it’s healthy.
Also another thing is the fact that the gym influencers post these things. Bet you most know that they are influencing kids. They are almost encouraging kids to take these medications work out way too much and damage their body. Now being a swimmer I may know more about the long therm effects of over the top working out. But gym influencers know way better and they still make these videos showing how jacked they are probably knowing that kids will try and copy them. It’s annoying that the influencers doing this is trying to attract attention but the kids don’t know the side effects of doing what they are doing.
The finals is not an adhd game yes a lot happens during the matches from game to game but because of the immense amount of things going on it’s easy to be distracted in a setting where the objective matters above all as well as in order to have a better chance of winning you need a good tactics book one you can stick to
what do you think of the medium revolver? I've been finding a lot of success with it in diamond, headshots are nasty.

@Ottr, you say the issue is that it isnt fun to play heavy at one point in the video 27:30 (and I personally agree because I am a light main) but I wonder if the more underlying issue is that heavy requires support to be good, aka teamwork and team coordination. And that doesnt exist in casual.
I think heavy would be very enjoyable to play with a healer and a team that actually worked around my utility.
huh? Heavy is a ton of fun even without a healer or support. If you're having trouble with the mobility, just use Goo Gun to get around. I beat lights to the vault every time with that thing.
Just want a causal mode with out worrying about having a bad teammate and the unnecessary buff and nerfs where they change a guns damage by 1 point or reload speed is longer by .05 seconds. Its unnoticed and doesn’t make a difference
It would be great if they added a quick match that puts you in a random mode.
I know it's useless but this way you play a variety to chill and if you like a mode then you choose that
I think adding 6v6 game modes would help a lot, imo. Know a lot of people who don't play games like Apex cause it means a friend or friends can't play

Let invisibility stay invisible, and make every 5 step glow up a hologram briefly 1,5 seconds after passing,l. That way u know the player passed but not exactly where the player is. Can be used against other players if u add a timer as well. And thia is not me saying do this, just think about 5 options before choosing one and let the community vote during a longer periods without adding patches and a longer investigation time for the developers so they can focus. Or as u say, buff everything els.😅
Just started playing a week ago and it is my favorite FPS since Apex Legends. Just a shame that I am totally miserable solo queueing and I really wish Lights had more viable ways to play. Other classes have a couple weapon and gadget setups they can use but Lights are pretty railroaded

I dont think I agree with the respawn time being an issue in competitive (look at most comp games like val/league) but in casual I wouldnt complain if they were shortened.
I just think the finals needs more casual modes. Cash out & bank it are more on the competitive side, push is more casual & easier to jump into. Adding CTF,oddball, domination,ect would help keep players.
My #1 complaint: They nerf the fun away (and not even really add any fun)....
I wish they would stop nerfing S-tier completely and instead simply BUFF the non-meta stuff. That way nobody is sad and we have more viable options to choose from.
I have quit some games due to my playstyle being nerfed, then I learned a new one, and it got nerfed too, etc. The Finals has zero chance of me quitting (cuz its the best 3 man team shooter out there) but ffs the nerfs are annoying as hell!!! 💀
We also need a duos 2v2v2 mode and new, smaller maps for 2v2v2 game modes.
Seriously, even if you have friends to play with, it’s hard to get them all together at once, duos and solos could legit save this game

Clocked in almost 400 hours in the first season and only a couple of hours in season 2 just to complete the battle pass

Also CS2 ingame matchmaking is literally HvH once you go above a certain ELO. It will be 4 cheaters + you VS 5 cheaters and the 4 cheaters will just kick you immediately
I'm a young adult in a university and The Finals is my go-to chaotic game.
I played light in the first and second beta along with the movement ability it use to feel so good but now all i can do is do some damage amd hide
I play light, never use the stun gun or camo, and am in diamond. The dash is the most fun to be had in this game
i think the biggest problem is solo q being hell, you literally need friends to play this game (which many fps nerds probably don't)
regarding balancing:
You can't logically argue with people whom have already made up their mind emotionally, they'll keep inventing new evidence to back their emotional decision.
I really want this game to do well and have a lot more content. Because damn I am goated at this one specific fps. No other fps has clicked in with me. Sucks that there are cheaters every other round though. I played apex for ~600h over the span of two years, and since release of the finals I already have 250h in it.
Sounds like the finals is going through want tf2 went through, but it doesnt have the die hard fanbase to back up the lack of replayability

Pretty much everyone I know on Xbox that I'm either friends with or have just played a few rounds with all Miss unranked tournament.I can't think of one person that I know who plays the finals who didn't enjoy unring tournament

I want the finals to have a proper free for all mode for all the solos out there
Also having 3 rounds in a full tournament would be nicer, it would firstly make a full tourney go for less time it would help queue times and i am oce so i suffer like other oce players that have to queue into asia or na, having 3 rounds would mean that it requires less plasyers to start a tourny and could revive oce, i also think that having 4 rounds looks silly seeing 48 players so tiny having 3 rounds we can see each player more clearly and would just be nicer to look at tbh.
Add more social features like lobby and match text chat and team chat

The big issue is if there is a problem with the finals that is keeping me from playing the game, what do you really do?
1) voice the opinion, maybe something would happen
2) stop playing the game, not every game is meant for everyone.
3) try not get irritated and continue playing.
I want the game to succeed, as it is a fun game. But frequent balance changes among many others typically ruin the fun I'm having, rather than bringing a new avenue to have fun.

On the topic of weekly patches, they're pushing 2.6 back at least one week, maybe two
The only frustrating thing I found in the Final is matchmaking. I don't play tournaments, I don't care about rating or whatever - I play videogames to get portion of adrenaline and dopamine after boring or stressing working day. I expect the game will give me competitive environment, I expect my teammates and opponents will have close levels, I expect "close" game. But instead, it drops me to absolutely non-competitive games when one single team dominates on the battlefield and crushes the rest teams. And the game keeps doing this each time, 10-20 in a row, I keep getting smashed. This demotivates, so I deleted the finals after over 100 hours of playing, maybe one day I will try again, but not now
anyone that doesn't spend time on something and comes in with the expectation of being on equal footing is just wild to me, imagine joining a basketball team and thinking you stand equal with every player in the league, imagine being a surgeon and being equally skilled as every surgeon, while the majority of player bases can be casual, you NEVER see them because they are casual, they play for an hour or less and get off, because of life like you mentioned, at any given time the majority of them aren't playing, so when MM who do you expect to see more frequently, Ol man Greg who's at work/relaxing/feeding their children or little Jimmy who's spent that last 14 hours on the game, answer is a bunch of little Jimmies. goes for any game, the only way for a casual to be on equal footing is to become an non casual.
@brianpancotto8829 sorry, maybe my explanation was not ideal(( Imagine 13yo boy with friends who want to play basketball today. They go to the basketball court and "matchmaker" says - "you will play against high-school basketball team". While on the neighboring basketball court "matchmaker" does the same - 13yo vs high-school basketball team. Why not sort them out? I know I'm in lower(st) league and I would like to play with someone like me. I suspect, this was done to minimize queue(wait) time, but I'm ok to wait several minutes and then play "enjoying" game.
UPD: I was suggested to turn "Crossplay" option ON (back) and now it looks much better

They needa add badges we can grind like apex. Kill 20/30 people in one game etc.
Weird opinion. They need to build more on the movement. Give people more options in terms of movement and i think that would help alot. Make the game more about different things than teamplay and aim yknow. Give a net speedboost to slides. Maybe walljumps, maybe being able to strafe more agressivly etc.
Movement is fine, you just don't know how to use it to the fullest extent yet. Keep pushing, sliding off any edge adds free velocity & you can stack it back to back and bhop out.
I think steam and epic and whatever launcher should pull a Playstation and find away to ban certain cheating hardware/scripts. But it was primarily Fighting game devs that made the fuss because cronos user's where ruining Fighting games for years and for some weird reason fps devs never went to the top. Starting at the closest thing next to source maybe some what of a solution to help the cheating problem. Also I think the Finals and Tekken should collaborate they both have amazing customization...

I really like this game. I alerady have 175h and I don't want to drop it, as pubg for instance. Just dynamic gameplay with ranked. Setting allows you to do any cosmetics and it won't be ridicilous in any form (not like fucking nikiminaj in cod). The macros problem exists, hopin' developers gonna handle it somehow. Overall game is cool, they even listen to the community. Im even sad a bit of low popularity of this game
Every single pvp game is gonna have the same issue two communities the ranked sweats who’s enjoyment comes from “skill” or winning or the other group who’s enjoyment comes from hanging out with the bros two entirely different mindsets that’s okay and understand the game entirely different the ranked player knows way more about the core game and it’s bugs and especially how to manipulate them for an edge
Giving players data from the game will always be a bad idea. If you look at it from a game design standpoint, I think it becomes very obvious why.

In the first season, I really enjoyed the gameplay. But after the release of the second season, I simply could no longer tolerate sweaters in almost every game. I quit the game for two weeks. First game and I immediately come across a cheater. And the situation is not changing at all

The biggest improvement they could make for Finals right now is getting rid of loading animations and sequences. Between searching, loading, animations sequence, more loading, more animation, game live. It's like 3-8 minutes. You need to be able to tap search and get in a game within 2 minutes max
I feel like the matchmaking in this game is kinda screwed, the thing that attracted me the most when I started playing was the wide variety of weapons and gadgets, you could run around with throwing knives, daggers, sledgehammers and still have a great time. Now if you don't use the best weapons with the best specialties and the best gadgets, well... Prepare to be dead weight for your team and have 0 fun.
Well said. Do not forget that there was cross-map wallhacks for like over a month. Who in their right mind thought that was a good idea. The balancing team literally sold the game.

The SBMM system is the only acceptable one in games, whether in casual or ranked modes. You've correctly described the drawbacks of some of these systems. But firstly, they are improving. And secondly, even such bad old systems are a hundred times better than having no SBMM at all. Just think of a game without SBMM like a game with SBMM, but there's only one basket, similar to those depicted in your scheme. That's it.
I know helldivers 2 is wildy different gam but I wish more devs were like them. Nerfing the meta and saying skill issue. Like the video said, if there was a temporary mode that was “embarks vision”, then players would have more fun. I think that it is important to cater towards players a bit but at the end of the day it’s there game. I restaurant isn’t going to change a menu item because people complain. If you don’t like the food, go somewhere else.
Idk maybe this is a bad take and I personally haven’t played that much if the finals but for no other reason than I just wanted to play other things. My friend just got Sea Of Thieves and we have been playing that a bunch as well as helldivers 2. It’s not that I don’t like the finals. In fact, I really like the game. It’s just I want to do other things more

I stopped playing because they removed nukes. The most fun I had was during the beta, when they nerfed everything the game became less fun. I saw fun as the ability to get creative with the game, not held by the restrictions other games created. Now I don't have fun, so I don't want to play anymore.
Skill Issue buddy. Its not called the NUKES its called the FINALS and if you cant get into the final round without nukes then you just dont want to get better at the game and you should sincerely fuck off
Honestly they should give us notification system that shows us any changes they made to the game, so casual players can catch up to those that are well informed.🐱
I never understood why people bought CoD year after year but then I watched a bunch of CoD streamers try out Helldivers and The Finals when they came out, but they ended up not liking either of them. Long story short, they do not care about any game that has an objective besides kills. Launch ICBM? Dont care. Defend cashout? Don't care. They ONLY care about kills, which makes sense. It's all they know.
In CoD EVERYTHING is about getting kills. Kills to get killstreaks, kills to win the match (TDM etc), Kills to unlock camos (year after year), Kills just for the sake of having a high K/D. Even in the most "unique" game mode, Warzone, it's still just about killing everyone else to be the last one standing.
Then they go play a game like The Finals or Helldivers where you can get tons of kills but still lose, or even worse, get no kills and win and they just don't like it. Throw in how well your team has to utilize your gadgets to win and it's game over. CoD is just shoot gun, throw grenade, call in cruise missile, repeat. They complain that gaming is boring but then won't play a game if it doesn't have an identical loop to CoD.
Helldivers 2 is just pure Coop fun with your friends. The Finals is one of the funnest shooters in years but mainstream CoD players won't play them because playing against AI enemies is boring to them and because you have to do more than shoot enemies while running at them head on.
Throw in the overtuned Aim assist so that cod players come back to cod after "Aiming feels bad" in other games.
CoD players are the walking version of Stockholm syndrome. The games are so mediocre year after year but it's all they're used to.
the only solution is making cheating websites inaccessible. It needs to be extremely monitored and VERY punishable - even jail time for compromising a business’s success. people should be TERRIFIED to download hacks in any form
They focuses on the wrong point imo. Patch 2.4.0 had a not bad balance, but 2.5.0 just straight dropped down. They even lost some players after patch 2.5.0 based on SteamDB. The main problem is still the hackers, they killed the whole ranked system and made the game lost the long term target.
Sadly The Finals will never have a revival, it might go up to 30k (on steam) on the next update but no matter what they do it will only lose players from now on.
The game is too sweaty for the average player. It needs a more casual game mode, thats where the majority of players in most FPS games are.
i mean it more feels like a hassle to even get on nowadays, i haven't played in a week and just can't be bothered enough to complete the new contracts :/

This is the attitude that is leaning toward the downfall of the game. The dev team is better than most if not all other current dev teams, and they can definitely cook, it’s so early in the game’s lifespan to completely go out and say it has no chance anymore

They could genuinely update the game over the next year and make this undeniably the best game on the market, but it will never get a massive resurgence, that's just how the world works sadly. There has been less games than I can count on my hand that have had a come back like that, and most are singleplayer games that involved some form of outside media like a TV show being released, or some kind of social media phenomenon like Helldivers 2 had, or a streamer resurgence like siege has had.
they said this about Among Us lmao. Nobody heard about it until YEARS after I had my fill. This game will be at the top of the charts around season 9, the vast majority of the demographic that loves this game still hasn't heard of it.
They need more to grind for. That being said... it's a free game so they are going to absolutely drrrriiiip out the free cosmetic stuff. I didn't even come back till this season after beta because s1 was so wack. More guns as well. Idk how to fix the grind if they aren't going to develop a crap load of fluff to unlock...sheesh I'd take color shaders at this point.

The devs are forced there’s a financial aspect for this at the end of the day as a buisness they need to keep the lights on and making a game the public hates even if it’s your vision doesn’t make for success and won’t keeps those lights on so to an extent they are forced to cater to its Audience because if it looses them they themselves become lost

I was addicted but things got worse season 2 ( H main ) loading times increased, ranked lobbys way more sweaty just too much effort and time for not much return
What I love about this game almost everything is viable and everything has a managable counter. Everything is op and fun to play so nothing is just boring to play. Chaos is everywhere and thats why this game is fun for me. I'm playing the game sinse the closed betas and other than some tweaks and balances that are not that hardcore always can keep things fresh.
