Not a lot of people understand this song. These guys were just children when great Britain was under attack by the Germans. Hence the little child in the beginning. Such soul pit into their music. It's been decades since they've been in action and it still sounds fresh to me. I might've been born in the 90s but my god the old music is just where it's at....
There's more than a few Pink Floyd songs that bring me to tears. The sheer beauty of their sound is legendary and to me will remain unmatched but usually inspired from a lot of artists.
Has been my favorite Pink Floyd since I can remember, my Dad was a huge fan and this band was one of the only things we ever kind of bonded over. He was blown away when I, at 17, got tickets for us to see the Pulse tour
This is probably my favorite song by PF, and it nearly brought me to tears because I listened to the words and the little girl at the beginning of the track got me. Love it, man.
This was SPOT on dude! Picked up the acoustic a few months ago many years after I started electric and honestly I can’t put it down. I’m looking forward to noodling with this song soon
Everyone on CZcams is like me, struggling to nail that "Did you ever wonder why we had to run for shelter when the promise of brave new world unfurled beneath the clear blue sky" part
Probably in my top 3 acoustic performances of PF, amazing work. Man if you did the second part to Is There Anybody Out There I would be a very happy man, I love that song.
Nice job! I've been practicing it for a couple of weeks now and I got it down pretty good. I wish I knew another guitarist though. I'd love to be able to play it with both guitar parts like the studio version.
Can you please explain the audio and video process you are using for your videos. I want to set up my own CZcams channel. Another question I have is, what backing track system do you use (for example your Pink Floyd Time video) Very much appreciate your information Cheers, Wes
Ooh Did you see the frightened ones? Did you hear the falling bombs? Did you ever wonder why we had to run for shelter when the Promise of a brave new world unfurled beneath a clear blue Sky? Ooh Did you see the frightened ones? Did you hear the falling bombs? The flames are all long gone, but the pain lingers on Goodbye, blue sky Goodbye, blue sky Goodbye Goodbye
Hi Thomas, I'd really love to do an instrumental guitar cover of this song adding lead parts on your performance, which is absolutely perfect. Would it be possible? Obviously I would credit you in the video or create a split screen video with yours, as you prefer. Thank you so much, have a beautiful day!!
@@Thomas75s thank you so much Thomas, you're really kind! 🙏🙏🙏 I should be able to download your video by myself, but could you send me please a wav or high quality mp3? I'd love to achieve the best result possible 😊🎸 My email is luca.pilia@yahoo.it Thank you again!
Sorry if you aren't looking for tips or anything, but if you're thinking about getting into any fingerpicking harder than this id seriously recommend getting rid of your pinky anchor. I used to do that and once I got out of the habit I had a lot more ring finger strength and just gave me more freedom move my fingers. Again, not trying to insult you or anything, I just saw your description and it gave me the feel that you weren't comfortable with fingerpicking yet.
No i am very interested in tips. I know that it´s a bad habbit, but thats the way i have been doing it for maaaany years, and i´m kind of stucked. I guess that i would have to accept a period where my fingerpicking will be even worse (if i skip my anchorpoint position) before i can see some improvement. Thank you for the comment.
Thomas75s yeah I was lucky enough to catch it a year in so it only took me about a week to get out of the habit. Glad to see more styles of playing by you, thanks for the videos man.
Tommy Emmanuel does a guitar lesson video sponsored by Reverb and he talks about this. He says you're either in the camp that anchors or the camp that doesn't. He's a pinky anchorer and said many of the greats of yesteryear were too. My guitar teacher is def trying to break my habit of it though. It's tough when you're so used to playing something a certain way over so many years!
I tend to anchor my hand on the ball part of my palm near my wrist on my bridge. I'm a fingerpicker who uses all of my digits and it does open up a little more scope for playing. My point being, you can still anchor your hand for steadiness and free up that extra digit
Thomas75s Thomas, thank you so much. I like the tone of your acoustics, and you have great skill. By "Western" do you mean jumbo body? It is hard to tell in your vids. Sigma site search had no returns for western however on e-bay I did notice a vintage DR model listed as western. As for Reno, I could only find as a model of a custom Guild but no maker with that name. Are you using an amp with your acoustics? Apologies for so many questions. Have a great day!!
I tbought so, it is still a very good cover, thanks for the upload, and it is nice to watch your finger play too, you should maybe make a tutorial for this, I'm sure it would be popular.
1:10 - i have committed to playing the wall complete on acoustic in one shot...the only two spots i am having trouble with timing is this little lick and the lyrics about their fat and psychopathic wives
My man the edit and sound is really good but the work of your right thumb is hurting me 😂💀 don’t bend it use ur whole thumb to draw ‘circles’ in the air

For real. This song has me crying a river every time I hear it
This might be the most beautiful rendition of this song I've ever heard.
Thank you Christopher
You always make my day better when you post a new Pink Floyd cover. Simply brilliant.
Thank you Rocco
OMG. Congratulations on your interpretation. Marvelous. No accelerations. "Exact" sound. Right now I pick up my guitar and try to do it.

Austin Ritter Agreed! Fun fact: the child’s voice in the beginning belongs to none other than Roger Water’s son Harry

Just came from the Dark Side Of The Moon🤘
David Gilmour, what an amazing musician!
The beginning sounds like hysteria by def leppard
Since Hysteria came out a few years after Goodbye Blue Sky don't you mean that Hystrria sounds like this?
Awsome cover! Just subbed. We just covered this one as well! Such a classic!
Hi, could you give me the soundtrack that you used on your cover of November rain solo? please I need it is very important
